Im afraid about Skull Merchant rework announce

I enjoy a lot Skull merchant, but, yeah, i hate the 3 gen strategy. Its a boring a lot, its exhaustive gameplay style. Its not fun to play AS and AGAINST. I use a lot of differents combos with her ADDONS, PWYF, Superior Anatomy, Dark devotion and other fun stuff. I REALLY hope BHVR look to SM enjoyers, and dont kill her completely with her rework recently announce. I really hope SM will not nerf to the ground and put her in Tier F. I hope JUST 3 gen strategy will be.

    I like to go Totem Defense myself. Devour Hope + Thrill of the Hunt + Drones makes it very hard to get a cleanse off uninterrupted.

    I also have a trap Hex build of Undying, Retribution, Haunted Ground, and either Devour or Blood Favor (a Hex survivors will want to be rid of, sending them into the traps). With Undying you're guaranteed 2 procs of Retribution, and possibly 2 of Haunted

    You simply cannot balance her ability no matter how hard you try. A rework is the best thing for her.

    I did not see any announcement for reworks. they said they want to rework/weaken 3 gens for killer. the next rework announced is Twins by early Jan 2024 and apparently billy & freddy are getting some changes.

    I'd rather her just be removed from the game. No matter what playstyle you give her she is boring. She could literally have been never brought into the game and most of the community would be THRILLED not to have gotten her.

    A rework sounds promising a least, at least they are trying :)

    Only good rework is to remove her or completely change her. She needs to lose some drones and her exposed period should go lower. I don't think the haste she gets was a good idea eather.

    She needs some rework. When I had to do challenge to 4K without gens being finished, I picked SM and The Game offering. It was so grose and disgusting because I had gens so close to each other that 1 drone covered 2 gens. They of coursed losed.

    I'd like it if they change her abilities to be less generator-babysitting and use the drones more in an aggressive way, such as chasing survivors.

    She's the worst designed Killer and it isn't close. Her design manages to surpass even original Legion. She's excels at area denial and NOTHING else. She's completely useless without her 3-gen or Totem Defender.


    I'm sorry, but the amount of Dull Merchant's that just sit and hold games hostage simply because they can is enough for me. I'm sorry that there will be people that (somehow) find enjoyment out of this complete train-wreck of a Killer and that it will, likely inevitably, be ruined for them.


    She's the only Killer that I genuinely think would've been better off removed. She brings nothing positive into the game and while I applaud BHVR for not giving up on their creation, there's simply too much work to do, imo.

    Problem is that even if people say they play her "normally" they still put 3 drones on 3 gens, and instatly gets info if someone goes on a gen and comes back to defend. I've not seen a skully that doesnt do that yet. They might chase for a bit but if they are losing they will go back to the im the defender of gens playstyle.

    She simply has too many drones and too much info. Too long exposed period and stupid haste so you can't even run away from her now. I don't know any other killer that has so much info as she does. Survivors cannot do anything without her knowing it.

    They did not say that they rework her. But that they look at her ability to 3-gen. So lets see what they do with her, in the end it will not be enough to buff her Chase-ability as long as the 3-gen ability is not nerfed heavily.

    Personally, for me, they can just remove her. She is the first Killer where I said they should killswitch her and rework her and when done with that, offer a Refund-option for those who dont enjoy her anymore. I really dont understand how Skull Merchant went into QA like that and the testers said "Yeah, this is fine".

    They didn't word it as a rework though, all they said was that she'd get an update which could also just mean a QOL pass for all we know.

    The skull merchant requires a complete rework, neither a nerf nor a buff. Her power was born for 3gen, she doesn't have any kind of chase potential. She requires a rework from scratch like they did with Freddy

    Even with the slight rework they did with her she's still bad in chase and absurdly-strong at guarding a 3-gen. Even if you don't play a 3-genning SM you're still gonna want to drone gens or hex totems and not really anything else.

    They need to severely lower how strong her drones are near gens but somehow make them actually strong in chase. I've seen people suggest they lock-on to survivors and follow them around, maybe hinder them or something for a duration which then encourages chase and moves the drone away from a gen. Could just have the drone stay floating above the survivor which makes looping a lot harder for them as it's giving real-time location info.

    She's actually a decent stealth killer with enough effort put into playing her as such. She definitely doesn't need to hold a three gen or defend totems, but doing so makes her power more consistently useful because the survivors need to interact with her drones. With the way maps are designed and generally how big most of them are it is too easy for survivors to ignore her drones unless you place them in areas they need to go. The deployment and activation delay makes her less consistent at loops and the in my experience survivors just leave loops for a fresh tile without a drone on it as she can't do anything, but be a regular m1 killer. You're at no risk even in deadzone tiles unless you were already injured and she was actually closing in on you.

    Her power isn't being used as intended and I think that is because their original intent was not in line with what they designed. She's good at area denial, but they wanted her to be a tracking/hunter. She lacks the tools to actually do that and part of doing that relies on stealth, but the current drones run counter to being a stealthy so you need a lot of perk support to fill in the gaps which is bad as it basically means that playing her using her power is the same as playing her without using her since the bulk of her actual support is perks.

    There are good ideas in Skull Merchant and she's a sassy breath of fresh air visual wise, but her power needs to be retooled and probably shouldn't be so centered into her drones so she can actually do other things.
