Botany knowledge and self care, worth it?

It almost feels like old self care but not at the same time....you dedicate two perks to it but at the same time I play solo and my team is almost always unreliable πŸ˜…

I like it, i feel more independed that way. I don't need to run half of map to heal. + It's only slighly slower than normal.

I rather someone running self care than a person with urban/sprint burst who makes me hit hook 2, at least the self care person may take a hit for me and also solo que potatoes=dont be healing people anyways.

It's unfortunate we have to ask questions like that when Self-Care is absolute hot garbage and we all know it. If you think it helps I don't see why not because I know very well what solo queue is like. However, you need to take Sloppy Butcher into account because every killer seems to run it now. I personally run Fogwise, Prove Thyself, Sprint Burst, and Windows Of Opportunity when I solo queue and it's working pretty well.

It's usable. It's a thirty second heal iirc, which for something unlimited is pretty good; it's only a bit longer than medkits, and you can only get two heals out of those. Plus, Botany Knowledge applies when you heal your teammates too, it's one of the best healing-related perks in the game.

The combo has a weakness, though, and it's that it is quite badly affected by anti-heal sources. Thirty seconds is already on the upper end of how long you want to spend doing this, and ideally you'd be doing it in bursts rather than all at once, so Sloppy Butcher alone harms the combo fairly noticeably.

Still! It's not a bad pick.

Yea...anti heal perks are a pain lol I really wish COH would get a buff like let us heal at 90% or something or make self care heal at normal heal speeds

Botany with Self-Care makes it usable again, and still does help with healing teammates by saving a little over 5 real time seconds per allied heal (in most cases). Since it is a gameplay enabler, it allows for otherwise impossible actions, which is still always good. It has to be used strategically though, like on death hook, in a gen deadzone (away from remaining gens), while an ally isn't available, etc. I would say it usually is worse than the alternatives, but it makes soloq a lot more bearable when you don't want to bring a med-kit. (Blind tome or gen tome for example)

Self-Care + Botany Knowledge lets you heal yourself more efficiently than being healed by someone else. Healing yourself with this combo grants +0.85 charges per second and requires 1 survivor. Being healed by another survivor by default grants +1 charge per second and requires 2 survivors. You need 16 charges to heal a health state, so the resulting self-heal from this combo lets you heal yourself infinitely in 18.8 seconds. Honestly, that's huge, especially since all other survivors can do whatever they want during the duration.

Self-Care and Botany Knowledge is the equivalent of having unlimited med-kits for a trial.

I'd rather run bond and find another survivor to heal me. Even running halfway across the map to get healed seems to be faster than self care + any buffs.

It's allright. Slightly more effective healing yourself then having someone else heal you and you don't need to find anyone and you heal others faster too.

As long as you know when to heal and when not too it's decent

Yes because botany is worth it by itself. Compared to We'll make it it's less of a bonus but you have it all the time which is very nice against killers such as wraith or legion who injure people without downing them a lot, making it a good perk. At this point selfcare is basically just old selfcare which is a good perk and defiently worth running if you want to keep yourself healthy, the only weakness is the change to hemorage (namely sloppy butcher) makes it much weaker when playing against it however botany is very good against sloppy butcher so this evens out.

Makes selfcare usable but it's 2 perk slots for something that can be done with a medkit also if you run into a killer using sloppy you're back at 60~sec heal

I hate self care. Number of times I've died on hook because someone is sat playing with themselves for 30+ seconds to heal is higher than times I've got downed because I couldn't find someone to fix me.

Bond is much better for getting healed than self care. And there are other much better less time consuming perks to heal with.

Thats a) wrong, no matter how it feels, and b) good luck if you play solo on a server with russians, because they often wont heal you, but instead get away early if the killer comes, so he might go for you instead.

I feel with the medkit changes Self-Care has definitely became an alright perk if your running Botany Knowledge for sure.

I refuse to run healing perks because anytime I do I'm guaranteed to go against a ######### Plague.

I've been running it in my healing/altruistic build. Its extremely useful in situations where people don't want to help heal or you simply don't know where they are/can't risk going to an area of the map injured. & like you said, solo que is very bad and unreliable so it finds its use 9/10 times.

It's ok. I would rather just bring a medkit though. Also consider that we're in a tunneling meta. If you get tunneled, then those perks don't do anything for you.

Don't come for me, but in SoloQ I only run Self-Care (with Resi, PTS, and Leader or switch Leader for Distortion), and it has come in handy SO many times! But I only use SC in dire situations where a teammate can't heal me etc.

Hyperfocus and stake out both stack with self care and botany. It's all a good combo for both gens and healing, best of both worlds.

It's just a few seconds slower than pre-nerf circle and has the benefit of not having to rely on team mates while also providing faster heals to them when they need them. It's okay, considering self heal has been gutted.

If you feel like going self-care, botany almost feels mandatory.

This sadly isn't true... I was not aware that the formula for healing speed changed. Your speed bonuses are added up, and then everything gets multiplied by 0.35 . So that'd be, in charges per second, (1 + 0.5) * 0.35 = 0.525. This isn't too bad, but... I am a little disappointed.

I was wondering why this was slower than expected. I no longer think that Self Care is a good perk to use at all. I would recommend some other perk that gives you health (or even Leader at this point)
