The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

So what do you think about Singularity NOW?

After his new buffs, how do you like him?

  • I didn't played him much yet, needs more time but I think still he is very map dependant and if you get bad map, you will have a bad time. Any map with lot of sight blockers or just walls hurt him a lot.

Haven't seen him since the update. Got destroyed by a trapper, so its time to nerf pig again!

I played him today. I wanted to see what the buffs did to him and I have to say my games felt so much better. The difference between today's games from last week games was night and day. I don't know something finally clicked with me or it was the buffs but he generally felt much better to play.

I've played against it exactly once, and it was tonight so I guess the buffed version is all I've ever known. Can't really make a comment but I will say that its stride is very offputting, which is good for a less human killer.

There didn't seem to be an overabundance of EMPs but they were still obtainable in a timely manner, so from what I heard that's an improvement for balance.

He definitely feels better but... I'd be lying if I said there's been my improvement in performance.

He’s clicked for me, though I’m not sure if that was due to the changes.

He still just isn't great, his power is still incredibly easy to completely nullify repeatedly

I feel it depends on the player and the map. I ran into a Sing that completely decimated our team and we did everything right with EMPs. He was just on it.

I did play with him yesterday evening but only managed 2k. Same the other way around on the survivor side. I think people are still learning him. Always had an EMP device in my hand ready to use.

    Feels the same.

Got destroyed all the same. This killer just isn't strong enough for a hard counter mechanic that is as available as EMPs.

It is feeling like even without EMP, this killer is still won't be too strong, but anyway just another no one play killer, who care.

Going to play some more with him tonight.

As survivor though it's a blast sucking the soul out of Singu with EMP's.

I see no difference. There was still EMP's whenever I wanted.

He's still miserable to play when coordinated SWFs use voice comms to altruistically use EMPs when you are chasing someone.

killers complaining they're having a hard time against survivors that cooperate and play together.

stressful killer to play against coordinate teams.

It is obviously better as it has been buffed but still the killer is powerless if the survivors are coordinated.

    Yes and ?

Survivors should not have an easy game when they are a SWF. That is the main problem with DbD.

Every killer should be viable against a good SWF, which is completely not the case.

Survivors also shouldn’t face inevitable defeat when they play solo queue. That too is a main problem with DBD. Every survivor should have a chance at victory against killers, regardless of whether they’re SWF or solo. This also isn’t the case.

Thank you for showing that you're clueless about balancing.

It is literally impossible to balance the whole game taking in consideration all the killers/perks/addons/maps/swf/soloQ.

For me he feels worst killer in the game and in fact that is true at least in my case I lost 5 games a row trying to adept him now. Maybe bad timing as gen rushing is now at it worst but still that has never happened me before. I tied couple games but that still lose in case when im trying adept. I have actually gone 7 games without winning now crazy. I remember my previous longest winless streak was 3 games...

I think he's a fair bit better but i'm just going to have to accept this killer isn't for me.

Changing cameras is just too dissorienting for me

    It's not impossible

That's what they do all the time because if you understood game balancing you know that you don't balance things in a total vacuum.

The way people think about game balance in this community is deeply flawed sometimes.

They're not balancing SWF and SoloQ as separate entities because they aren't separate entities. Their all survivors and the game functions the same no matter which way you play. The difference between SWF and Soloq is something no developer could balance around as it is an external factor. Hence you balance the survivor role, but not against itself but against killers, maps, items, addons, and perks.

Killer powers are balanced against maps, survivors, perks, items and addons. You have to do it that way so that killers don't have maps and setups that they are completely unstoppable on and situations where they absolutely can do nothing or with. Killers probably aren't balanced against each other directly as you don't play against other killers. They are however balanced around each other when they have overlapping systems like how when Legion was the only killer with killer instinct it was actually hyper accurate, but when Ghostface was added it got tuned to be slightly less accurate overall.

It is not impossible to take all those things into consideration as you have to or risk unbalancing the game in a way you don't want. Most multiplayer games are unbalanced because perfect balance in gaming is rare and usually undesired. DBD being asym is by design meant to be more unbalanced than most. The issue is often that the scale is tipping either too much towards the center or completely lopsided.
