In game voice chat/typing chat
Please it’ll basically solve the solo q issue

I'm sorry but my teammates cannot hit skill checks and I worry about their typing ability. I don't want them wasting any time off generators, even if they only do a little bit. Controller players would be struggling as well. I'd suggest making Rocket League style preset texts that you can use like 'I'm going for the unhook' that you can use with the press of a button.
In-game voice chat probably won't exist in a game like this because we all know how endgame chat turns out to be and I think the devs confirmed it won't be added any time soon for that reason.

No it won't solve anything.
It would just create way more issues instead.
Chat wheel would be more than enough.

Maybe a 50 50, cause I do not wish for no baby to blame me for their mistakes or why this or that. Evil dead has com chat but goodness I perm have the option that all mics=mute , some people and their ego is so crazy, I one heard someone go off on another over some petty thing because I guess they took the healing item before they did, my guy there is at least 30+ of them to get.. why so serious lol.

I think implementing a VGS system like SMITE has without any chat or voice option would be ideal. Limited options that are predetermined so that there is some balancing control. Easy to use without much interference with regular gameplay.

Strangers aren't going to do what you want even if you screech at them over voice comms. See: every online game with voice communication. The complaints are identical. It's just a human thing.

They've said many times they have no plans to add voice chat, citing language barriers and the availability of outside comms as their reasoning. I also suspect they want no part in having to moderate that as well.
Typing won't work either, it would take me fourteen minutes to type out something with my controller.

I chat wheel would definitely be necessary, however toxicity already exists. The voice chat doesn’t need to be stuck on, of course you should be able to mute your entire squad but (a good example is apex if you’ve played that) but I wish when you open setting in a game there was a menu that have you info on your teammates (Perks, Items, Etc. but in that menu you could also do a solo mute) I know all of this is a stretch but it’s still nice to dream

Yea that’s fair but for the texting thing if not a voice that if they were to consider mid game typing they could add A chat wheel

thank you for this, from these responses I disagree with my original opinion on VC however I stand by in game chat with a chat wheel to help console players

i just thought about this and i think a proximity chat for survivors would be a solution for this.
I also thought about killer could hear when they talk (dont understanding whats being said though, basicly like whispers perk)
But i think just adding it for survivors would be a good idea to balance soloq to some extant.

how to see if someone plays solely survivor:
they want basekit SWF
HEEELLLLLLL *N O*. I would rather play twins than have basekit swf in the game.

- i am a 100% pure killer main, my last round survivor was over 3 years ago
- I love playing twins
- Yes, survivors that could talk to each other (in a proximity chat, only in-game and not pre-match) would be a way to balance soloq
I myself dont play survivor but i have enough empathy and common sense to understand, that not being able to properly communicate with teammates is a huge drawback/punishment for playing soloq. And if you dont understand this then u are just a blank, characterless killer main, complaining about everything that would give survivors a little bit of advantage.

It solves nothing. You really need to be focused in the match not messing around in text chat. As for voice chat, most people do not care, they either will not use it or won't communicate at all (unless they intend to be toxic), you only need to look at other popular games to see this. If you want to take this as a serious competitive game, find other people/friends to queue with and jump in Discord, that's all you need. A ping system would be neat though, that's enough to make a difference.

Wrong.
The survivor community doesnt want comms.
They want the results of good comms usage by good players incorporated into the survivor character basekit, without having to use comms correctly.

Absolutely not. Making more SWFs doesn't solve the issue that those who do not use or do not want to use voice chat are disadvantaged.
If anything, making SWF more accessible and prevalent will just result in killer buffs, which would mean that survivors who do not want to use voice chat, will be even further disadvantaged.

I'd just like bond, kindred basekit and the ability to see each other's perks before a match.
Voice chat would be crazy, there would be so many trolls, and the people who deal with reports would be swamped with that.
I don't like voice chatting due to being hit on, stalked and other problems. I don't have discord for this reason. Anyway, while it would be nice to have VC in game I think it would cause more problems, unfortunately.

This comment may be seen as a bit harsh, but there's a kernel of truth in there.
I do wish everyone played both roles at least to a competent level. I very much believe it makes you a better all-around killer and surv, and would go a long way towards lessing some of the more toxic behaviors imo.

A ping system would be more than enough or improved emotes, if anything maybe bond/kindred at base added to the already existing HUD. I hope they NEVER implement voice chat or any sort of chat during the game, it would definitely do more harm than good.

I would prefer a chat wheel/Ping system, like Overwatch with prerecorded lines like... "I'm going for the unhook" or "The killer is chasing me" would make more sense. I don't really like basekit in-game chat, especially proximity chat; as it would defeat the immersive experience and that it would give killers, especially the very good hearing ones a distinctive advantage in not only sneaking up on unexpected survivors Blasting music in the microphone but also Triangulation your hidden location through sounds, especially if you make noise in a locker.
But I think the current system is perfect fine, as it more of a solo queue problem that they are too Causal and not immediately doing what is necessary at the moment, when they can see it. If there is a Survivor left on the hook, and the other are not doing generators or being chase by the killers, somebody need to go for the rescue. If a chat wheel exists and you can message /call out your team that you are going for the save, then that would even the communication cap between swf vs solo.

could be true, but me as a survivor would be an inconvenience for my 3 team mates and i dont want to put people through the hot hell of carrying me through all of my games.
I have a bad reaction time and timing what is a neck breaker if you play survivor. As killer those flaws of mine can be reduced by other things like game sense or a good prediction skill.
And even if i play a bad round as killer on a unlucky day, the only person let down by me IS me.
And in my opinion the survivor game-play is boring to me. Thats not the games problem, just my subjective opinion.

this would be a good start i think, it could really help soloq until they find a way around to balance it.
2 -
Maybe not open chat, but a chat wheel could work.
I would say a ping system but I see how players in League abuse that system to be toxic and rather not hand it to DBD players as well.
