Pallet rollback broken

Have people started to notice the pallet roll back has become EXTEMELY in the killers favour.

I seem to remember that the survivors were meant to get a "roll back" for when they dropped the pallet before the killer.

But now, me and a bunch of others are experiencing it the other way and the killer is getting the hit even when the pallet is clearly down.

Several clips captured with good ping killers/survivors/servers and it seems that not only are killers getting pallet hits (like when the pallet is down and survivors on the other side of it) but also grabs/hits through windows.

Anyone else experiencing this and do we know if the Devs know about this? and do they care?

    I play Singularity a lot now and I keep getting hits after the pallet is stunning me. I feel bad for the survivors. Is this what you mean?

    Alright so I think you might be confused on something

    Rollback is when a game reverts to a previous moment. To my understanding DBD doesn't really do this, but instead tries to match up the two true realities between what a survivor sees on their client and what a killer sees in their client. It tries to do this as fairly as possible, but that will result in some times getting very wonky scenarios. It's usually pretty noticeable on actions involving pallets, windows, and gen grabs. It's literally sometimes just a flat 50/50 chance whether you get grabbed/hit or vault away/stun the killer.

    So yes - it seems this is still happening and even more so with Wesker games. Literally survivors are on the other side of the window, feet on the ground running and Wesker pulls them back from the other side.

    Seems very broken and I think should need a review. It is noticeable and needs to be fixed.

    It's clear they have "nerfed" pallet stun and DH hit validation at some point in the past (I think it went from a "first come first serve" basis where the server would simply favour whatever action arrived first, to a "timestamp" logic where it will actually compare client action timings), but these recent egregious instances I suspect have to do more so with the game servers having been rather volatile. Maybe the influx of players during the event has caused this, the servers are struggling to maintain a consistent connection to players, pings are higher and fluctuate, sometimes the servers outright experience freezes. These performance issues would also affect hit validation, of course.

    when hit validation was first introduced it was really good but it had a problem of constantly showing Survivors screaming and a blood effect on your screen whenever you swing through a pallet.

    at some point tho it seems like they went back on hit validation and bullshit swings through pallets came back again.

    Roll back has an issue because if the killer has high ping on their screen they don't even see the pallet dropped yet so there isn't even a chance for them to get stunned. There is also the fact that if the killer is right on top of you and insta swings as the pallet animation starts he doesn't get stunned yet.

    Yup. This actually made me miss dbd when killers were hosts. Because even then it was at least mixed and sometimes it would be surv sided as well.

    Now I get hit anytime killer lunges unless i vault or drop pallets before the killer loaded into the game.

    Yup. I'm taking a break atm because I'm actually getting too annoyed by it, and I don't like feeling tilted by games. I feel like every game there's an instance where I'm hit through a wall or over a vault, despite being clear and running, or I'm jamming R1 at the pallet and nothing happens except I get hit. I try not to complain about this game but it's honestly gotten worse and I'm kind of over it

    This information may help a little.

    Hits are based on the killer POV.

    Interrupts are based on the survivor POV (such as grabs, harpoon chain nab, etc...)

    However, I've been hearing things are not working like this as of late, but it's supposed to work that way. Whatever the killer sees hit-wise should always be a hit. As for grabs and such, whatever the survivor sees should be what happens. However, if a survivor is awarded an escape when from the killer's POV it should have been a grab, a damage state is instead provided as compensation.

    Problem is, it's happening now every game. I used to see it once in awhile and just roll my eyes like, yeah whatever. But when it's happening every single game it's incredibly off putting and makes you not want to play.

    Still occurring too.

    Less since the 7th year event but still there.

    Just showing the servers did not like it when the volume of players were high. So I guess this problem is still in the game during peak times sadly.

    It doesn't try to make it fair; per the devs, that would be too frustrating for The Killer. Hits are still handled on The Killer's end unless the hit occurred due to high ping (people have tested it out, and it seems to be 250ms and above - which is extremely generous), and only then is it "validated" by the server and rejected. It's all a nothing burger for Survivors who must endure server latency, their latency, AND The Killer's unknown latency = Survivors get screwed.

    It's unacceptable! The Mastermind is especially painful when using vault perks like Lithe, Q&Q, and Dance with Me. I have successfully vaulted and triggered all three perks, am Exhausted and on CD, and then I get snapped back into his grasp on the other side of the vault. Still Exhausted and on CD, it screws me of my momentum, perks, and movement - all in the name of handling hits on The Killer's end at my expense. It wouldn't be so bad if the tick rate were higher and the "server validation" threshold was less generous for Killers.

    Well, now with the correction to the fast value action (FINALLY) - it looks like killers now have a (very little) smaller chance to hit survivors. So that's something.

    I've been noticing this a lot when I play survivor, but then when I play killer I swear I'm seeing pallet vacuums again. Survivors don't get sucked all the way to the other side anymore, but the "hitbox" for when they can get sucked back into a pallet throw seems really generous.

    So it seems we're back to a place where it's God Awful again. Getting hit behind pallets, killers abilities hitting through and other side of windows... - it seems this has come back 10x worse than ever after the recent update.

    Even the Vaults are broken again... We are stuck with things being super in the killers favour. It's unbelievable some of the hits I've got as killer.
