5th Anniversary Crowns being given to everyone
Why?
Comments
-
โcause FoMOโs not a good thing
29 -
Why not?
12 -
Why not? Get down with FOMO.

This is the biggest joke ever from the Devs. We all grinded so much hours for all of them and the Devs give a fk about us. This makes no sense for me, are they gonna give Legacy now too to everyone because when everything limited was given for free after years then hey Devs, destroy completely everything everyone worked hard for, you donโt even care about players who supported your game for years ๐ถ
8 -
Because Billy needs his crown!!!!!
5 -
Just waiting for them to give out Legacy again
11 -
It's nothing special๐ just a floating halo๐
17 -
Legacy when???? All those hours grinded for what?
6 -
BHVR only care about a cosmetic's exclusivity when it can make them money, which is kinda funny.
2 -
What is this outrage
itโs just the default heads + a halo
come on now, get over yourselves
28 -
Good ! Anything that can get rid of fomo !
11 -
It's not a big deal, no one even uses those halos anymore so no one even gets bragging rights from them. It's good newer people who weren't around then actually get a chance to play around with em for a bit.
11 -
They will still use Fomo because they keep saying that things are exclusive over and over again.
Giving away old Cosmetics don't trigger Fomo, because you already "missed out" the Cosmetics.
2 -
This was something that was mentioned in the Anniversary Stream - that we would be giving out the previous crowns as part of this years celebration.
This does not affect Legacy, nothing has changed there at all.
7 -
Y'all spent hours getting crowns?
I got mine in like a day. It really wasn't that big of achievement folks, maybe take it down it notch or twenty.
Y'all came to the wrong game if you looking for some vaunted item or cosmetic to lord over others that is now totally unobtainable. The only thing that works like is Legacy skins and they ain't even good because Blighted skins literally exist and are far more diverse and accessible.

It's a shame. The crowns were added as a reward for those anniversary events, and they weren't as easy to collect as the current event's masks are. For survivor, you had to actually escape the trail to earn the crown for just that survivor. It took a lot of time to go through and collect them all, which I personally didn't even do, and now for all that effort to just get flushed away by giving it to everyone for just entering a code...It feels like my efforts were completely invalidated.
Those events didn't even have any major gameplay alterations. Bar the mass use of bloodpoint offerings, the crowns were the event. The challange of escapeing, of earning that little peice of gold behind your head, that was the point! To have that bragging right, to say "I did it!", with your fancy cosmetics.
I have some 4th years crowns, and I like them because they show age. I have some outfits from the first and second rifts, and I like them because they show age. If those get given away, they won't be special anymore. Just like the some of the summer BBQ event cosmetics. If you saw one before, you know that they were around for the event and that they earned it. Now? It doesn't mean anything. They are just a propain tank and a off-white tank-top. Nothing more.
Nea has a jellyfish shirt. It was in an early rift. I didn't get it, (I think it was in the paid track) and I've seen some people have it from time to time. I do feel a little jealous, but I also understand that they earned it. They have it. I don't. If they wan't to go run around and flaunt their pretty cyan jellyfish, I can't stop them. And you know what? Good for them. That is their shirt. Their special little shirt. If they are proud of it, let them show their pride.
People like to brag. They always do. It's why people prestiege to 100, why some people play Johnathan Byers or the Demogorgon, why people horde old event offerings and items. The more that is taken away, the less personal your game will feel. Eventually, you might not having anything at all. You will having nothing to show for your time, your effort, your fun. Just a 'limited cosmetic' that everyone has.

As they should

I just wish BHVR made it more clear at the time of these events. It is frustrating that bit by bit, all the events I participated in the past 7 years are having their "exclusives" or "time-limited" skins released via a code.
What's more frustrating is that I lost my legacy 3 Claud And legacy 3 Billy due to a bug - one of the only cosmetics that seem truly exclusive.
Nowadays it's obvious nothing is really exclusive anymore, even if advertised as so. Not having exclusives anymore is totally fine, I just wish BHVR would have better communication regarding this.
4 -
The reaction to this is funny considering I basically donโt see anyone wear crown cosmetics
21 -
I don't care about the crowns too much. I get that the whole point is to have a token to show that you were there at that time, and with the limited rarity taken away, they really are just ugly cosmetics which everyone has. Which kinda sucks, but I feel like that's what charms are for.
What I would like though is consistency on what exclusive stuff gets re-released. There's a yellow rarity Legion set from the fourth tome which hasn't reached the shop yet, and I have no idea if Prime exclusives or legacy prestige borders will ever be making a comeback. It almost feels random what resurfaces lol
3 -
Does this mean the 4th year crowns too? That would be pretty cool actually, I am all for giving this kind of stuff to newer players.
4 -
Good
8 -
If you're craving a sentiment of being superior for possessing something that other people can't have anymore... go buy a NFT.
14 -
Who cares? I'm not even going to put in the effort to use the code. That's how unimportant those things are.
7 -
Good. I have them all from playing the event and I'm glad they are giving them to those that don't already have them.
10 -
I thought they were gonna gift the crowns but let the ones we got in the 5th anniversary as "legacy" or sth but they didn't.
I don't think is THAT important, after all it's just a cosmetic. however, I feel that giving them so easily feels cheap.
People say "FOMO sucks" And I can agree with them. But as I said earlier, it's just a cosmetic, why don't let veterans enjoy their old things?
1 -
Because veterans are wrong.
3 -
It would've been cool if you could start earning them the same way after you got all of the masks from this year. Going in reverse chronological order, but everything still obtainable from playing.
Some consistency would have been nice, because selling the 2022 masks for 400 Auric Cells apiece is kind of...iffy.
1 -
I like having these, but I'm sorry you guys had to work so hard for them 2 years ago.
Hey, wouldn't it be funny if I enjoyed them MORE because you guys got a worse deal than me? Lol, like anyone would enjoy an item IF AND ONLY IF someone else was getting shafted...
1 -
P100 players should get their own legacy skins. Like golden or silver skin etc. That is very big grind and deserves reward just like legacies back then. Only very dedicated players do that.
4 -
There are no benefits going after P9, this is purely optional. The badge is its own reward.
1 -
Who cares? Honestly. I never see anyone wearing crowns anyway. Literally never. To all the people in this thread feigning outrage, how many times in the last year have you played a character wearing a crown? If you say a number higher than one then I'll call you a liar to your face.
4 -
Some people want to be a special snowflake.
4 -
I never saw anyone uses these crowns lol, what's wrong with giving them to everyone?
9 -
Why not? I got them during the 5th anniversary and it's not like I sold a kidney to do so. It really wasn't that hard and it's not a massive accomplishment. It's a game.
5 -
I think Iโd only be upset if they started giving away things that they previously only had available to buy. I guess I can still kind of understand why some ppl arenโt happyโฆ I mean when I look at those crowns I directly think of those anniversaries and think this player was around at that time. Now thatโs gone. So I do get it to an extent. I donโt care enough to lash out but I do get itโฆ
1 -
I never liked them at all, all it does is put a big flashy mark over your head saying "im here come hook me" or "im coming run away from me"
2 -
I don't run it on everyone for that reason. Why would I want people to see a beacon on my forehead.....
2 -
Because it was a 5th anniversary thing and should have stayed this way?
2 -
Like for real nobody even uses it and you can see that crap across the entire map
1 -
Eh. Legacy is a bit of an eyesore and better done with the newer blighted cosmetics. I could see them adding it as a P100 reward for the OG survivors/Killers though.
1 -
Why not let other people have it as well tho after some time? I never understood this and it never bothered me.
5 -
I get the whole "i grinded to get these things" argument but like..... do you really care? do you ever equip them? no, because they're ugly and give away your position when you try to hide behind things. so really you're just tryna gatekeep, let's keep it real
1 -
I just want my Wraith to have a smiley face on his big toe man
0 -
Legit point - give us legacy and year 4 items too then. Why pick and choose what youll timegate?
0 -
Why not just have a code to unlock everything in the game each year then?
1 -
Yeah, why not?
6 -
Lol exactly.
2 -
The way I see it, you got to enjoy feeling special for a whole two years, which is a long time in game-time. TBH people move on, players forget these are even a thing. Some players don't even know about the older anniversary flashlight or these weird halos that scream "I'm going to loop you til you cry".
I've only ever seenoneperson wear one and I don't even think it's their main.Maybe 2-3 players total. I think it's cool BHVR made them available to newer players that missed out.1 -
FOMO is one of the scummiest things any company can do. Spare your "business first" argument; the companies exist to make games, not wealth. Anything to make the players happier is a good thing for game and company health.
