How is your Survivor and Killer Experience?

I will talk about my personal exp.

Killer = First i have to say this. I am tryhard player when it comes to killer. I am using strongest perks and decent add-ons on my killers. I am usually playing Nemmy, Sadako, Wesker, Nurse, Clown, Legion and Wraith. Lately i added Pig to my list as well.

And i am just doing fine with them. Sadako and Clown kinda makes me super sweaty because it's really hard to win as them. But my general killer tactic is focusing on 2 of survivors and getting them dead hook first. So whenever i need to make one of them out, i have 2 options to use.

I am not saying it's win most of times on killer but i am winning quiet well. And killer meta is good atm because they are rewarding you if you get hooks good enough.

Solo Survivor / Non-Voice SWF = However when i play survivor, it's really so hard to enjoy. Survivor meta perks are fun, i will give that. But sadly anti-tunnel perks are so bad.

DS is doing almost nothing. And OtR has not great effect honestly, Endurance was never great anti-tunnel effect. Which means tunnelling is super meta atm because there is honestly nothing to punish killer for tunnelling.

Without fear, killers are just tunnelling. It's me or one of the my teammates. It depends on who hooked first. And tunnelling is seriously makes my survivor games miserable and painful.

And i don't even think it's for pressure. Because i am seeing tunnelling more on Blights, Nurses than Wraiths, Pigs etc.

I am not playing this game with voice-chat, so i have no opinion for normal SWF.

I don't know, I've been playing this game for so long that I don't know how to say what would be a good or bad experience, I've already had the DBD vaccine so I'm prepared for reality when I look for a match.

Honestly having a lot of fun recently on both sides.

Killer I’ve given up on using gen slowdown on my mains and I’m having a blast. I’m still winning most games like before, but it feels more rewarding to win because of my skill rather than because of slow down! And Ghostface just feels so good right now <3

Survivor is just as fun right now. I’ve mainly been playing solo and it’s great. Eruption/CoB/Overcharge was the main reason I hated solo survivor, but now that they are dead I don’t feel cheated out of wins as often. Camping and tunneling is still present, but usually they don’t get more than 1 or 2 kills in my experience. Escaping most of my games too which was rare with the Eruption meta haha

The only thing that’s really frustrating (on both sides) is the amount of people that just give up so easily. The amount of times where we’ve had 3 gens about to pop and then the first survivor goes down and they DC and then all the survivors die is to often. But bots might fix that soon!

But other than that, most fun I’ve had in this game in a while :)

Killer - win 80% of my games at a minimum despite not being an amazing killer.

Survivor - Win maybe 20% of my games during the event. Probably 40-50% on a good day normally. The pallet mind breaking is just impossible to play against in solo queue. Even if you don't go down your teammate will. I play solo queue exclusively so it's pretty bad.

Survivor = easy quick game, I can mess up so hard, but still constantly do 4gens in 5 min.

But kind of boring no challenge or game play at all.

Killer = unfair hard, it's like playing the hardest mode in darkest dungeon, it has some fun mechanic and can be very creative on your build make the experience very different, but you will lose most of time, and will feel most of them are underserved.

Killer - The games have been good for the most part, ran into a long streak of sweaty swf running 3-4 bnps or 3-4 flashlights or last minute swapping.

    Survivor - Solo - Alright i guess, maybe a 30% escape rate.

SWF - Fairly similar to solo but with more oppressive, sweaty killers who have something rude to say in end game chat.

We should play together, i need skilled teammate like you. 4 gens in 5 min is so good. You should be one of the best survivors ever.

Survivor experience is more relaxed, no matter if it's escape or death on hook. Killer on the other hand is more demanding as you need to be in motion 24 / 7 and any wrong decision gets punished four times more.

Killer has been business as usual. Easy with the occasional challenge.

Survivor has been BAD. Maybe it'll change after the Event is over.

Matchmaking must favour you with either amazing team mates or terrible killers

killer has been bad a bit lately because it seems like mmr just doesn’t work properly so I’ll face people way above my skill level and get 0k or 1k games for like 20 matches in a row

survivor has been fine I guess

I just wish people would stop running away from the final Gen that is 97% I’ve lost so many games recently cause of this

Overall I really enjoy this game with the exception that certain killer + map combinations ruin my fun entirely and I admittedly overall hate the event. It overstayed its welcome very quickly.

I play casually nowadays but used to try to win every kill game I could by any means. Stopped caring about a year or so ago. For the most part though the worst games I have is versing Skull Merchant (Worse if it's on certain maps), Hag or Pig and it's because they all play the same. It's boring. Past that I enjoy most games. To clarify on these specific killers - All of them tend to hard camp because they are terrible otherwise without certain addons.

Honestly I have zero complaints as the killer role - Game has been pretty fair for that role for a while and I never feel like I really have any unfair games outside of some extremely rare RNG for basic killers that rely on M1.

For killers I tend to play

Deathslinger, Clown, Legion, Myers, Ghostface, Wesker and Knight

My hardest games are usually between Myers and Knight. I'm wanting to play Singularity more but the camera movement on biopods disorient me. I used to play Nurse a lot but honestly it feels wrong playing them in the current state of the game so I quit playing them over a year ago.

My personal experience with the game during the event.

Killer side: Has been really fun, since I haven't played super seriously. It is a BP event after all, and thus all players deserve to gain a lot from the cakes. Granted, some survivor groups has been playing like it has been a tournament, ex. rushing 5 gens in 5 minutes with BNP and stacked toolboxes (often paired with Built to Last). Those games are never fun, even if you are just goofing off. And of course the bully SWF's with head on and 4 flashlights (thank god for lightborn 😈), but it has never felt completely unfair.

But for the most part, my killer games has been an awesome experience, and how many games have I just goofed around, doing meme builds (Scratched Mirror Myers, Walking Nurse etc.), and the survivors loved it. It was quite different from what they were usually going against. Some games, the survivors just gave me the 4K and others were pretty close (as it should be). For the most part, I play a very relaxed and casual killer side. Even still, I managed to get Gold 3 before the grade reset, so I am happy with that.

Survivor side: This has been MISERABLE during the event. Might be that I have horrible luck, but as soon as I hit Iri 4, it was as if a wall came dowm before me. 95% of my games past that point has been tunnel, tunnel, tunnel, or face/proxycamped on first hook.

This experience has happened more often then not when playing SWF. The killers are being extremely toxic it seems. We haven't even played the META way either, just trying to have fun, since it is an event after all. But no no no, 95% of the matches I had as a survivor was anything but fun. I think I have a 10% escape rate in total (if that even), which is terrible.

Funnily enough, I have had a much better time when playing solo survivor, while normally this would not be the case.

My killer games are more difficult since the 3 gen nerf but still a 80% win rate while following the survivor rule book of not camping/ tunneling.

solo q terrible like always i gotta 30 to 40% win rate around. when im in a swf it around 60% but sadly i stuck in solo q most of the time.

Killer : I play chill as a killer and my games are great. I win most of the time without even sweating or regression perks, and I always have the most fun against "bully swf". The only sort of negative experience I had recently (and in a long time) was a survivor complaining that I was playing Dredge bc he's boring, but even they weren't being rude and I don't really care lol. I'm enjoying playing killer a lot these days.

Survivor: I'm a solo a player, I would say I also play chill but I don't want to be a liability for my team so I'm actually trying my best most of the time. Games for a good while now have been quite awful because of tunneling. Solo q teammates have actually been better lately, I still get a useless teammate from time to time but it's quite rare. It's very frustrating to play, because the killer decides how the game goes and these days it's just a race between who can slam gens or tunnel someone out the fastest.

My games have been good mostly, killer games went alright. Lots of bp's for both sides, although sad there were the usual instant dc players too. You could normally tell if you had a super sweat squad incoming because of cringy map offerings and purple oaks during the event.

Survivor games were okay too, even when I was killed still came out with plenty of bp's. I'm getting better with survivor and it feels like I'm dragging myself out of low mmr. I'm getting teammates that actually do things now 😄.

No real complaints from me about the event. It was fun.

As I rarely play killer, I very often get matched with newbies. Sometimes I let them wiggle off if I find them hiding in a locker cause they're just super scared. Usually if you try to be friendly, I will turn it into a BP farming and just get a few hooks and let them do their gens and leave. I had two identical Mikaelas in Midwich who were being friendly and I could not kill them despite starting the game with the intention of playing normally. I cannot be a very ruthless killer. I mostly play Artist but I am not that good with her, I play her very sub-optimally.

As for survivor, after I reach Iri grade I chill and try not to stress myself for pips since they require a lot, I still make it to Iri 2 most of the times and I run perks I find fun like Blastmine/Flashbang etc. Now I'm running item farming perks like Ace in the Hole and Appraisal. Once Nic Cage comes in DBD I'll buy him and use his exhaustion perk as well and hope I can generate items. It's just fun, ngl.

My games yesterday started pretty bad. I was left on hook to hit second stage by my teammates and I'd just let myself die than play the game out. If they're that scared or AFK to go for a free hook save I don't feel like playing for them. Also had some fun games vs a friendly Myers (probably the only friendly killer yesterday). Had a very intense game vs Sadako, Artist (she was tunneling Cheryl :(, we tried to get protection hits for her and even downed us and she still wouldn't let Cheryl go, I died saving Thalita from hook because Kate left as soon as gens were done). Also got Clairvoyance value when I was the last one left so that was also cool as I rarely get hatch value.

I've been having a great time overall!

Killer: Im also a tryhard lol. Mostly play blight, nurse, wesker, and formerly huntress before MFT existed (im a terrible huntress mft obliterates me)

I find that on killer, controlling generators has gotten more difficult but its only impacted my winrate minimally. Yeah the gens do get done almost every match but with a NWO proc on wesker? I can get at least one more kill, bonus points on blight and nurse. I do my best not to tunnel unless I think its the only way I could get a 2-3k. Im not one of those guys that treats "tunneling when necessary" as "tunnel if it will guarantee the 4k". Im probably a bad example since I really only play higher tiers. I'd say I get around 8 hooks a game and 2 kills in a match where everyone is skilled.

Survivor: I dont play survivor much, I'd say Im of average skill. Current build is SB, OTR, reassurance, adrenaline.

In soloQ I find its actually pretty good. My only frustrations come from bad teammates/hard tunnelers rather than matches with actually good killers who only tunnel when they need to. I normally die but thats to be expected of soloQ and survivor in general since the optimal escape rate is 40%. Most of the time my teammates are decent, the killer doesnt tunnel and we get 2 out. Theres barely any regression left so gens are way easier to do in soloQ than you'd think haha.

I play way more SWF survivor than I do solo though. Like 5x more. I play in a 2 man with my friend, we're both good but I'd say hes a better survivor than me. He brings any means, head on, inner healing, and distortion. Half for the silly and have because its genuinely useful. We're always efficient on gens for the most part and one of us always gets out, normally both. The only time the killers gets us both is when hes either tunneling, our team sucks, or we're doing silly stuff that leads to our demise.

Overall right now I'd say that the game is a teensy bit survivor sided. Its not major or game breaking, just a minor favor towards the role. The overall lack of regression makes controlling gens more difficult so running NWO on every killer is an absolute must, noed on m1s if you so choose. I'd say at least one endgame perk is necessary for a strong build right now for killer. On survivor adrenaline gets value way more often than it used to since gens typically get done a lot. Everyones running it because of that too so endgame is a struggle without NWO to help clutch up. If you are hard tunneling though the gamer is killer sided for sure, but im counting it separately since most killers just dont. If you are playing fair then the game is a little bit survivor sided, if you aren't then ggez.

    nerf tunneling
