The time to wiggle is way too long

I can hit all of my skill checks and if the killer just walks to the nearest hook after hitting 2 of my teammates, i still get hooked

This is bad because it discourages altruism

It would help if the full bar took precedence over the hook animation.

The amount of times I get vacuumed to the hook with a full bar is very annoying, makes me miss the old wiggle system a lot more.

Wiggling out should be rare though.

I believe wiggling is only necessary to keep the killer from carrying a survivor indefinitely or as @Pulsar said, to prevent survivors from getting hooked in the basement every down.

Wiggle escapes should be all but impossible if the killer goes for the nearest hook.

Wiggling free and body blocking should be a niche thing that happens every so often and not consistently. The killer deserves the hook since they got the down, wiggle frees only happen and should only happen if the killer makes a mistake.

No. Just two protection hits shouldnt guarantee a save. A sabo+protection, baiting swings, etc should be what gets a save. The only time just 1 survivor should be able to guarantee the save is if the killer positions badly or slugs you before picking you up (can go into the open for flashy saves/crawl to pallet)

There is no altruism when there is no one to rescue.

If you’ve ever seen the numerous mathematicians on these forums and their computational brilliance, deconstructing the inner-workings of all things DBD, then in the same vein, I will assure you that the devs certainly have kept their maths in check with hook layouts and such.

Less-than-par RNG is often a thing, but everything is well pre-calculated to the devs liking.

I remember wiggling off from Killer’s grasps waay more in 2018 than 2023. The game’s become very precise w certain things. Always a work in progress (and I hate the sneakiness of shadow-nerfing/buffing anything, as well, fwiw, js).

They nerfed it somehow. It was already very weak but sometimes when you teammates traded bunch of bodyblocks you could wiggle off so it was fair trade, But now it's completely irrelevant non-interactive mechanics. With such design and approach form BHVR there should be automatic wiggle option in settings because now doing that manually feels pointless

This. You're meant to punish greedily moving to scourges/basement, or misplays and not noticing a nearby hook. If a killer decides "I don't care, as long as they're on a hook" theres not much you should be able to do out of massive plays.
