Bonus blood points for both
Why can’t there be bonus bp for survivor & killer. I mostly play survivor so, when the bonus changes to killer it kind of forces my hand to play as killer just for the bonus bp. I think if you are a survivor main then you should have the bonus bp for playing survivor. Same goes for killer mains because without the bonus the bp the return isn’t even worth playing tbh. Playing killer gives me migraines & is really stressful. Wishful thinking but, I hope very much that this is read & acted on at some point in the near future. I really don’t understand how it’s not an actual thing at this stage in the game. 💜

The point of these bonuses is to incentivize playing the side that needs more players in any given moment. It improves queue times, and matchmaking accuracy.

Oh, I think it's to help make up for a lack of people playing the role.
But then again I find that contradicting, as my niece plays on the switch, I'll be on PC. Her bonus on survivor will be 100%, mine will be 0%. If I join her I get her 100% bonus.
So I've actually no clue. I can't play killer really as I vomit from first person, so I just stop playing when my bonus goes away :)

Sometimes the bonus display isn't actually up to date is something I've noticed.
Not sure why, but it seems to sort itself out after going into a trial.
The bp bonus is actually a relatively new feature that is designed to get people to play both roles during periods when one side is oversaturated. It filps back and forth through out the day usually as matchmaking requires, but lately it has been mostly up for killer because a lot of killers just aren't playing the game en masse right now. There are a lot of reasons for that being the case which aren't super important, but yeah that's why the bonus functions the way it does.

Worst is when it is somewhat balanced and neither side have 100% bonus.
I simply can't be bothered to play at that time...

I think you're partially correct. I don't think the system is as binary as "what side in the game needs players? Give that side BP Bonus!"
While BP bonus is to help incentivize players to play the side "in-demand", I don't believe that is the full story. I believe that the devs have explained it also takes player MMR into consideration. As well as server location.
This is why when I log in at night, I may have a bonus for playing killer, but streamers in Europe may have bonuses for playing survivor.
Or with the example involving your niece. You likely have a higher MMR than your niece(assumption based on her playing on switch), but when you join her, it probably averages out (or atleast considers both of your MMRs), thus leading to you receiving a different BP bonus based on your new lobby's MMR.
