How is Singularity Designed to be Played?

Every time I play against Singularity they play like Hag. Is that what his power is designed around? I genuinely know nothing about him other than the basics.

Singularity doesn't play like any other killer, I'll say that much.

Tbh he does play like hag, but with more mapwide pressure and way more able to chase

The only thing I've found that even kind of works with him is playing him like a bad version of Hag. If you try to play chase oriented against good players, you're going to get EMP'd constantly. He's an M1 killer with extra steps to become a slightly better M1 killer. I genuinely think he's bottom tier with the likes of Trapper. I do better on Huntress and I play her once every 3 months and can't aim

This is what I've seen with him so far. The way I see him played is just like Hag, Knight and Skunk Merchant. Cover the gens and proxy camp the hook. I hope it's just the learning curve of the character and not the optimal way to play him. I can't handle another zone defence killer after The Knight and The Skunk.

Worst killer in the game? Really?

If you would like, you could assemble a SWF and play me on Singularity. I'm firmly of the opinion that he's an A-tier killer, and I would be more than happy to demonstrate his potential.

Imma have to disagree with you. Now I get he's a new killer so I could be wrong as people learn to play against him more but his kit has so much to offer that IMO he is at least top of B or even A tier. If you slipstream a survivor in a chase, you now have built-in spirit fury and 75% faster breaking and vault speeds. Beyond that, he can easily cover the distance lost from either the time it took you to get them infected with the camera or w-gaming. I put a few clips together to show what I'm talking about if you feel like watching:

https://youtu.be/LKGybcUbFRI (Audio on some clips is gone because clipping software does not record audio when I'm wearing headphones)

Beyond Chase, his cameras do help with defending hooks and holding 3-gens. I know these strategies can be boring but the ability to do them effectively still increases the killer's viability even more. As I said earlier he is still new so I very well could be wrong but a killer with map awareness, good gen defense, and a solid chase has to be a little better than the worst in the game.

emps hard counter 3genning with pods too hard. He's pretty good in chase and you got good map control via them tho

    Trapper did nothing wrong :(

Im not saying one way or another about the viability of the robot, but I'd happily do this custom thing with you anyway. Maybe I can get a flick from your Blight? The Blight is my real target here, ngl. Nom nom

Thank you for this. Really explains a lot vs 'play like hagu'. < 3

He's designed not to harm the crew.

Jokes aside Singularity is a very strategic killer similar to hag. You're supposed to place pods where survivors have to be so you can infect them all around the map and teleport.

Actually now thinking about it Singularity is basically just a worse Hag since he can't effectively use his power around the hook and perfectly placed pods are just popped with an EMP turning him into a basic M1 killer.

I find if I simplify his power you're meant to save time by quickly locating survivors with Biopods to get into chase. When you're in chase zoning them to pre drop pallets has been more ideal based on perk setup. If they stay at the tile you can run them down but if you manage to infect them before they try to cross tiles you can snipe them and close the distance quickly with the biopod teleport.

The only thing that sucks about singularity is two things.

Firstly his biopods can be disorienting to use but most importantly his power is super finicky around windows for no reason and is probably the biggest annoyance while chasing around certain tiles. If a survivors movement is good they can hover around a window and you'll never be able to catch them specifically with the power. You have to remember certain tiles in a different way specifically with Singularity than with other killers just because a lot of windows block biopod placement even vertically and it sucks. It makes no sense why Singularity cannot place biopods even directly on windows when neither side has a prompt to directly interact with them. The range should at least be reduced.

He is strong though - Saves a lot of time on locating survivors and by performing some actions quicker. I also agree with a few post above. One of his bigger strengths is shortening the distance survivors have across open areas so infecting them while at a tile is important before they start running.

Pro Tip, you can destroy an EMPd pod and place it in the exact same area, wasting the survivors time if they only EMPd to protect against the pod in the area. Doubly effective if its by a gen, they are forced to work on it with a fresh pod there or let it regress while they get a new EMP.

The great irony of the chapter's opening line, and slowly adopted tag line.

Is that both times I've faced the singularity I've escaped unharmed.

I guess it's design is working as intended. 👍️

I tried practicing with him against the bots, and it was insanely hard to do as they are always aware when you're looking at them through a pod. But what made it insanely frustrating was that when I finally did manage to get a pod attached to them, they would immediately cleanse it because they could just easily run by an EMP chest that had already opened on its own.

Having that much difficulty against bots convinced me to never go against live players. I don't know why BHVR keeps creating these high skill ceiling killers, but I'll stick to killers that don't require an insane amount of trial and error just to get some fun out of.
