Dude give it up you aren't going to justify this one... we are no longer talking about a video game.

That ended the moment you misunderstood what you were writing.

The mods are already trimming this one down and I don't blame them. Stop and have a think.

I haven't seen one person defending SM 3 gen playstyle. In fact, alot want that part of her to be nerfed and chased be buffed. All ppl are saying, including myself, is you cant Killswitch a killer who doesnt have a bug or is broken. By your logic, they should also kill-switch Babba for facecamping and should had kill-switched Sakoto for her slugging condemn playstyle before today. Like it or not but SM is working as intended even tho she has a very unhealthy playstyle but she isn't broken.

I also will add, you and some others asking for the killer, who ppl have paid to play, to be removed from the game for a LONG time till they fix her. Reworks for this dev team can take up to a year or more. Look at how long Twins rework has been taking, and even sakoto's rework has taken a while. Reworking a killer takes time and resources, things this dev team does not have free of. They can't just drop everything they are currently working just bc some survivors are whining about one single killer in a roster of 32. I bet her play rate isn't even high enough to say that she is in more than 50% of ppl matches. I personally have seen a total 5 SMs since she was released and those 5 SM matches only lasted between 15 to 20mins.

One last thing, the devs are currently working on a new system to combat 3 genning on all killers. You just need to show some patience and stop asking for ridiculous requests like killswitching a killer when they are not bugged or broken.

Okay, I apologize that I used the quote in this particular discussion. Thank you Rizzo for editing it out. I'll stop justifying it. Do you apologize for calling me, and many others on here, moaning victims or is editing out that part enough to forget about it?

Sure lets leave it on amicable terms. I over stepped the mark in my assessment of how people might feel about game outcome and their desire to give feedback. I was speaking flippantly but in reality what I said wasn't nice and I apologise if I offended anyone.

For the record it was not my intent to imply you did that on purpose just that you may not have comprehended the gravity of such a quote being used in this context.

To the topic at hand there have been a few folks throwing around ideas how to counter a 3 gen SM and it has been met with a lot of animosity.

But isn't it the goal of tactical discussion to try and solve a seemingly unsolvable problem. That's at least part of the challenge till something gets reworked to make it less broken.

For the record something about SM does need a rework, games can really drag on and be too hard to break a camping 3 gen build . But like anything that's seemingly broken the challenge is trying to beat it.

I've seen a few reddit threads lately that talk about strategies to break a SM 3 gen, I think the discussion is mostly there given the overreaction the discussion tends to get on the official forums.

They aren't going to killswitch it anytime soon and neither should they. In the meantime its an opportunity to brainstorm how to play around it.

A killer doing that I'd record and report.

In the meantime if I saw the killer doing that to another team mate I'd either get in their face to distract them or I'd jump on a gen and try to fix it while they were distracted.

A killer who does that is eventually gonna end up with you breaking out, the goal then is to jump straight onto the nearest gen. Either force them to kill you or progress the objective to the end.

It'll take way to long but its better than just sitting in game stewing over the outcome.

I completely agree. I don't thing it should be killswitched tho, but removed from the game entirely.

I'm glad we both addressed our wrongs and sorted it out. We only want what is best for the game and that is subjective. You believe there are possibilities to counter the three gen situations currently and I don't. That's fair. We just have to point out weaknesses in each others arguments in order for us to build a stronger point with different perspectives. Sometimes my arguments are flawed and I only acknowledge it when someone brings it up and then I build off of it.

Sometimes I don't understand people's true intent so I summarize what they are trying to say and ask it in the form of a question. It then becomes easier to respectfully argue.

Most strategies people are talking about now just seem too experimental in my eyes, especially for solo queue. I also don't believe the killswitch is too good of an idea.

Ah me too, we're all only human.

Sometimes trading a few unproductive jabs over the relative safety of the anonymity of the internet can be as cathartic as it is incendiary.

In the end its all in good fun.

You're probably right about it being not very successful, that said the folks I play with have had some success just focusing on the 3 gen early after 99'ing other gens as some players have suggested. It still takes too long and you give away a few early hooks, but so far its the quickest we've broken the 3 gen camp.

If you leave those three gens till the very end you have nothing to play with, but if you break it early as a team and then pop your 99's in rather rapid succession you can snowball into some escapes.

You don't lose that much in the way of passive regression on the 99's unless ruin is up, but you gotta focus on spread out gens to make any follow up 3 gen weaker than the first one.

Definitely a stretch for solo queue.

That is not game breaking, that is poor power design on the Dev's part. They need to work on reworking and buffing the Skull Merchant complete from scratch.

To be honest, when I saw the trailer for the new killer; I originally thought the drones would be like artist's crow or Knight's guard and go in straight line or predictable pathway and find survivors. And once it detects them, the drones follow suit or applying a exposed or aura reading to make the killer great at chase. Not.... park your drones next to Genators and play gen defense simulator 2023!

When kill switches happen, it has to be game breaking and not intended feature; just using your drones next to gens; isn't game breaking; that is literally her best playstyle, especially since you can't used it chase or in loops; as survivors would simply run to the next loop or hold w.

I been telling them the exact same things in other threads and they refuse to be reasonable.

It's not even worth rehashing it with them at this point because they have long since made up their minds about Skull Merchant and people who play her. They want a pound of flesh rather than remotely consider having constructive conversations.

I’d rather them just fix three gen’ing than changing the skull merchant, that’s the main problem

We can't expect BHVR to killswitch an entire character until the rework. Not only do reworks take years at a time but there are achievements/tome challenges requiring playing Dull Merchant. It's also worth saying that not everybody who plays her are sadistic brainless apes trying to copy Cm9i.

Also cutting off content that people paid for, possibly for years, isn't exactly a smart business move

However, the new DC bots offer a possible middle-ground. Even BHVR acknowledges how horrendous that SM playstyle is, they even called it "egregious" not too long ago.

While killswitching the character entirely isn't a viable option, a possible temporary solution would be to disable the DC penalty after 15 minutes only against Dull Merchant until her rework.

That way Survivors don't have to choose between a DC penalty and wasting an hour of their time if the Killer chooses to play like that and the Killer can still play the game for their achievements/challenges, they will simply face bots if they decide to stall.
