When is the anti-camp mechanic coming?
Very fun game. Camped tunneled and hit on the hook repeatedly because apparently this guy got “bullied” last game. Thats what the bubba said. And im the one that gets punished for it. Hook grabs are gone yes but killers like this still can just confirm kills. I looped him for basically 3 gens. Death after

I thought it was supposed to be in this update? It’s not?

I genuinely don't get the bullying thing for killer. If I'm playing as killer I'm invincible, the worst survivors can do is teabag at me. How do I get bullied? I don't get it.
That player isn't treating you badly cause they got bullied, they're just making excuses for their anti-social behaviour. You outplayed them and that was enough to trigger them. I bet they didn't get "bullied" last game, they just lost casuse they suck. I'm sure they have excuses for all of their failings.

I’ve had killer games where survivors are just straight up rude with their teabagging and such, but why would I punish someone else for their transgressions? It’s absolutely baffling, and if we all behaved this way it’d be an eternal cycle of bullying and toxicity.
2 -
I asked him if i tbagged him and the bubba said “no but the previous group did”
1 -
I hope its next update because i this crap is annoying
4 -
Didn’t one developer or something say if DBD makes you upset play somebody else’s game? Lol. Guess that’s what the devs think of survivors being camped and BM’d
8 -
It's on teammates to make the save, not the killer's responsibility to walk away and make it free.
Hitting survivors on hook is annoying for some, which is why some killers do it in hopes of getting an early suicide.

At least they are honest about their disfunction. Shame you had to deal with it though.
2 -
No thanks
4 -
i did get another facecamping bubba ealier but that one i didnt get camped. My teammates did😭

You say what now? Not camping isn’t making the save “free.” It’s a literal balance issue and it’s good they’re finally addressing it.
3 -
Yeah im not gonna listen that person justifying the bubba camping lol
1 -
And who told you, killer deserved free kill for just sitting next to hook?
Finally devs addressed this issue, so killer have to work for kills now. I can't wait for anti-camp mechanic.

Yesss!
Can we get a definitive answer to the
When is the anti-camp mechanic coming?
question… from the mods maybz, plz!
Also, when does the Anti-HookGrab feature drop!?
Jussst wanna kno. It’d be nice.

Trying playing something else for awhile. Civilization V is good I hear.

Well it is a free save if the killer is nowhere nearby. Not saying camping is needed, rather I think a lack of possible danger during an unhook makes for an action without any risk or purpose. Take any action in game and consider the survivor immune while doing it; now it's just a pointless waste of time since the killer can only ignore you.
0 -
Who said it's a free kill? The situation isn't guaranteed either way. I've had plenty of times when I was sure to die only to be amazed at teammates making the save. The opposite is true as well considering I've been cut down short of making a save.
Let's not forget that a survivor has failed at multiple aspects of play before being placed on their 1st hook.
1 -
when they balance the game around not camping i hope, cuz at the moment if you are not proxy camping you are most likely either playing nurse or blight or not playing to win
6 -
I feel the anti camping mechanic should be just increase hook stage to 90sec. Im not really into self unhook, since survivors can loop near hook on purpose.
0 -
There is actually even better way:
For every second killer stays in a 16 meter radius around hooked person, this person gets extra second up to 15-30 extra seconds. So that if killer leaves this radius, person can be unhooked, but he\she dont get extra 30 seconds because killer stayed there for 5. This would be too OP.
OR if killer stays in 16 meter radius, hook stage is freezed.
4 -
At least the lack of hookgrabs makes it so you can still trade hooks against most killers. I've been using deja vu and kindred alot on survivor lately. Last time I was on, had a Huntress who was fully content on hard camping every hook and beating the guy on hook. We simply powered through the gens while hook swapping. Was able to get a 4 man escape. I don't know about the other 3, but I at least was playing solo queue.

They didn't adjust hook timers when they made gens longer last year, a Bubba with deadlock can easily get 2 kills if not more, nothing you can do except looping him for 5 gens (easier said than done)
0 -
Getting yourself off the hook isn't going to do anything, but get you smacked on the hook more.
No, the anti camping should of been allowing survivors to pick up weapons and fighting the killer in a 3v1 death match.
If someone goes for the rescue then survivors lose weapons.
1 -
survivors will definitely loop by the hook on purpose which will be a massive problem but I don't think increasing the hook timer is the answer. Bubba, pinky clown, infinite tier 3 myer, and a bunch other instant down killers can still camp you to death (a longer timer on hook won't change that).
The new anti camping mechanic was made to give survivors on hook a chance against those killers who make it nearly impossible to trade from.

Didn't they say on the anniversary stream when debuting the concept that it would be sometime at the end of the year?
1 -
The game is balanced around that “free” save. Survivors only get 3 strikes before they’re out. Having that reduced to one changes the entire dynamic. And no hook save is entirely free of danger especially in solo queue.
1 -
There are situations that intentionally reduce the number of chances a survivor gets in both chase and hooks. We even have methods to kill survivors without ever using a hook.
They way I look at it is we all have one chance minimum, anything more is rewarded for good play and smart decisions. I just don't enter a match assuming I'm guaranteed bailouts for my mistakes.
1 -
You are not seeing the point. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s a game. Imagine if you were out with the first strike in every baseball game. And survivors suffer more for their mistakes and those of their teammates. If survivors were meant to die on their first hook the game wouldn’t be set up the way it is. Yea, killers can kill in more ways than that but it’s all situational - the right add-ons, offerings, or circumstances. Camping is, essentially, an exploit of the game design. Killers aren’t meant to hang around hooks for someone to die. If that were the case the game would function by just having all survivors killed outright or by being given more defense mechanisms than running, hiding, and dropping pallets.
1 -
You said it yourself, it's situational. Personal mistakes can have a range of consequences, but once your on hook that is the end of your influence over events until teammates can overcome the opposition of killer and provide another opportunity.
The killer camping doesn't guarantee the kill, maybe bubba does 98% of the time, but every choice is subject to human influence. I'll agree it can be more problematic as a solo Survivor simply because another solo is far less likely to sacrifice their good status just to provide that additional chance. The situation creates little room for error but it's not set for either side.

It’s completely imbalanced in the killer’s favor and, as I already said, not an intended mechanic. I’m done explaining this to people who just want to use design exploits for easy kills. Have a good night.
1 -
Whether it stays or is completely removed it has no effect on my killer gameplay seeing as I don't even use hooks. I just don't want forced immunity while as a survivor performing actions that influence match wide pressure.
0 -
I don't see how the devs can remedy camping, or even if they would want to without drastically changing the gameplay. Their current solution won't work in the long run.
It is a flaw in how they have designed the game. If an asymmetrical PVP game allows the killer player to keep another player stuck in place so other players have to come and rescue them, camping will always be a thing. People who camp all the time don't care about points or anything like that, if they can camp they will camp. If that means waiting outside a certain distance, they will camp from a distance.
The only way I see it being solved for good is if there are no hooks at all and every killer sends to a player at a random part of the map where they are then hooked and that hook isn't revealed to the killer and only revealed to the survivors, basically like pyramid head can. That will probably never happen.
3 -
You can loop bubba for 5 gens, go down once and this guy will say, “he made a mistake there for he should be dead “
1 -
They should remove the animation when hitting a surv on hook, those nasty campers take great pride in bming us with that
Let them hit nothing
4 -
For a perk that, if the killer hits you on hook 2 times, the hook breaks setting you free and sprinting at 150% speed for 5 seconds, and the killer is stunned for 5 seconds
5 -
Honestly what they might do is make it so you physically cannot hook the same Survivor twice.. Like "the Entity requires an offering of new/fresh blood". The Entity could become picky and make the Killer find a new person each hook or at least go back and forth between 2 people. I've had that idea floating around for awhile and it would solve a few things, but the whole tunneling/camping thing seems pretty difficult to solve as a whole..
0 -
I will gladly waste a perk slot for this. if that means, the killer will have to stand still and contemplate on the vacuity of his behaviour
1 -
I would use the perk too

Just got another facecamping bubba. So much fun to play vs thank you devs!!!
1 -
It actually helps because then they have the cooldown. Great way to sneak in for the unhook. With the new mechanic though not sure how much it would help… maybe wait until they hit you before you unhook so you have a head start?
0 -
Shift the blame all you want. It doesn't not make the gameplay extremely boring.
1 -
Theres no blame to shift as the outcome is not set either way. It's not my choice how the killer employs their agency or what they find fun, as survivor my choice is in how to engage the situation.
If the killer wants to camp, so be it, I'll work on gens and then attempt a save near the end of the hook phase. Regardless of the outcome, there is still player engagement on both sides leading all the way up to the unhook attempt.
Killers can't camp without actually securing a down first and a kill is not free unless the team refuses to save.
