Is Fogwise bugged or am I just misunderstanding it?
I got Vittorio during the anniversary but haven’t really worked on leveling or playing him. Today, I took him for a spin. I’m familiar with his perks though I’ve not run them myself so I was a little surprised.
When running Fogwise I hit more than a few great skill checks yet I could not see the killer’s aura anywhere. Even if they were on the other side of the map I should be able to see something whether stationary or moving. At first I thought I was just overlooking it as I rotated my camera but soon realized I wasn’t seeing anything. It did work a few times but only when the killer was within a range that was pretty close to the standard terror radius.
So is it supposed to only reveal their aura when within a specific distance? Is it possibly bugged? Or am I possibly bugged?

What killer were you facing? Did they have Fearmonger?

Were you repairing a generator? It doesn't work with healing skill checks.

If the killer has the undetectable effect you can't see their aura
So ghost face wraith sodako ect

But what killer was it? And what perks were they using?
Killers are able to hide their auras by various means too.

The fact that killers can completely negate this perk simply by running Fearmonger (which is a very common perk these days) is pretty lame.
At the very least they should buff it so that it also works on healing skillchecks (Hyperfocus and Stake Out already do so why not Fogwise?)

It was the Shape and the Oni. If it’s true you can’t see the auras of undetectable killers then that would make sense on Mikey since it was before he tiered up. I think that’s pretty stupid though. Don’t other aura reading perks work on undetectable killers, ie Alert, Kindred, Dark Sense?

No, they do not. Haven't for 2-3 years now.

Are killers not considered undetectable when hooking a survivor? Because I’ve seen Kindred reveal the auras of killers that should’ve been undetectable. And I know for a fact that Dark Sense has revealed Ghost Face’s aura to me when he was undetectable. Same with Alert and Myers…
Regardless, an aura reading perk not working on undetectable killers is stupid.

There was a bug several months ago that caused Undetectable killers to have their auras revealed by perks such as those. This has since been fixed. If the killer is Undetectable their aura cannot be revealed for any reason.
The black bubble that appears for survivors when a survivor is hooked can block the killer’s aura, but that’s an entirely separate thing.

Ghostface isnt aways undetectable. Once revealed he can be read. Same as Wraith out of cloak and Sadako in Manifested form. Myers tier 3 can also be read.
some Killers also have perks and addons that leave them undetectable btw. Perks such as Trail of Torment. And Addons such as the Twins Iridescent one

Yes, i’m aware they aren’t always undetectable. But the instances in which I speak of they were.

strange. Have u checked their perks and addons after the match?
its hard for us to pinpoint what has happened without knowing those things. We should have a history of all matches played during the day. It would make sorting this type of thing a lot easier
