    Simple solution for ya:

Step 1: Realise plague is the killer of that match

    Step 2: Leave the game

I don’t know what to tell you, it’s an asymmetrical HORROR game

Welcome to the world of "horror" games.

But there is an easy solution to this.

Just play kille yourself and play other killers than her, you will never have to face her then.

I’m sorry this game has introduced something that legitimately terrifies you. I do have sympathy for you in that regard. But why are you playing a horror game with the expectation that they WOULDN’T introduce something legitimately scary. It’s a horror game. i think that requesting some for of refund could be feasible, but it’s slightly unreasonable to play a horror game and then be upset they introduced something that achieves their goal in the horror genre. But the fact you may no longer be able to play the game because of the potentially dangerous physical effects because of a legitimate psychological disorder may be enough to acquire the refund with proof of the medical issue.

I imagine the lack of realism in the vomit doesn’t help because it’s more so a triggering effect similar to sympathetic vomiting.

i hope you find some resolution in this area.

    Ask for a refund.

Or maybe see this as some exposure therapy.

Theres a huuuge difference than being scared of something in a horror game like gore, jumpscares, noises etc and phobia's. Vomit is a huge health risk for me and as i said, can send me into a huge distress. I just dont see why people would see vomit as something "scary" and horror game related, i just find it pretty useless. Ive made the choice to just stick to killer for now, i just wanted to see if anyone has the same thought as me when it comes to vomit being really unnessecary

Last time i tried exposure therapy i went unconcious for nearly 30 minutes, safe to say id NEVER do that again, but thanks for the tip!

@MMIT62 Well look at the bright side: The Plague killer spawns with fountains. So, if you stumble across one by chance, then you will know what's coming ahead of time.

(The fountains can spawn in chest or generator spawn locations and is the only prop in game that has a running water sound effect, I think.)

@MMIT62 Try to think of the vomit as a sludge or green water, it can help you, dont think of it as vomit

@MMIT62 my friend is deathly afraid of clowns. I still have him play with me, he just leaves when there's a clown. He didn't ask for a refund or for the game devs to change anything... either play the game or don't. Its your choice and its a simple one. If its not helping your fear playing the game then you know what to do. I understand its debilitating but there really is no need for the discussion in my opinion. Sorry i sound harsh, but that's the way it is. People make horrors to be scary and target the whole communities fears and enjoyment. That's exactly what they have done. Just find a different game man. You aren't always gonna like a game or the devs decisions on said game.

(Not trying to cause trouble, but i don't play games with my fear in them.)

I have a phobia of saliva. And I would be absolutely terrified in the worst way if a male killer’s mori involved either pressing or laying down on a survivor. If they added such a killer I would probably be in a similar position to yours.

You could try disassociating the vomit from what it actually is - you could pretend it’s slime, infected blood, poisoned water, etc. You could try repeating to yourself that she’s not real and none of this is real, or that she’s an actress who is using some strange combo of chocolate syrup and corn syrup. Or you can try your best to avoid her and if she finds you close your eyes and just move on to the next game ASAP.

I’m sorry you have to go through this.

That does suck. There isn't a lot of ways to resolve the issue other than become a killer main. That way you're the one in control of the killer.

Yeah, it sucks, but unfortunately, devs don't give half a s### if 1 out of thousands of others have a health-related issue from a killer, or from the game itself. Just leave the match if The Plague is in the trial, it's that easy.

its okay, im very sorry to hear about your phobia, it must be absolutely horrible. its nice to see someone understand what phobia's are like! thanks for the tips :)

wha, thats a stupid ass comment. as i said before, the thing about dbd is that you dont KNOW who you're playing against. I could be the one to get striked first out of all 4 teammates

  • Member Posts: 14

this game was too expensive to "find a different game" lmao. the thing is, if i knew they wouldve ever release something like this? i wouldnt have threw my money on it. the reason i started a discussion on this is to find mutual people with the same problems relating to killers and really serious phobia's

  • Member Posts: 14

thought of that too! never really played killer and stuck to survivor to play with friends, but guess ill play killer now, thanks for the tip :)

  • Member Posts: 14

oh wow, i didnt know that yet, thank you so much! i can give it a try and see if i can handle it now that i have a dc chance :') thank you so so much!

Its not like this is a new idea in the horror genre.

WAtch this movie for example: Slaughtered Vomit Dolls or maybe dont in your case.... =)

  • Member Posts: 13,616

Those with a fear of blood can't play this game.

Those with a fear of clowns can't play ever since he showed up.

Those with a fear of- well, y'know.

I'd love it for you if they change it, i truly do.

But i just don't really see them do it.

Play killer and don't pick The Plague.

Or DC when you see her as survivor.

    You're overreacting a bit.

  • Member Posts: 7,669

we have had the same complaints with the clown and people who were afraid of clowns. and guess what? the devs didnt do anything.

in the end, YOU are the one who has a problem with something, so its on you to find a solution for it.

and if that means quitting a plague game, then do so.

i would advertise you to keep your hands off the game for the next 2 weeks or so, as there will be a lot of plagues running around.

or you could simply play killer, which would negate the whole danger of encounting a plague...

    make your choice.

  • Member Posts: 14

well, that was all known before you buy the game. when i bought this game, i really didnt think it would introduce vomit, since it didnt really fit their killer style

  • Member Posts: 14

well a whole killer wouldnt be changed (like the clown) but i think making an ability a little different wouldnt be very harmful.

  • Member Posts: 14

you dont know what its like, dont tell me im overreacting. besides, if i get striked first, what the ######### do i do then lmao
