Why did Dramaturgy get nerfed?
No more ultra-rare items and no more event add-ons. Really? That was the best part of this perk! It seems pointless to run now, and it will definitely be less fun. Completely undeserved nerf.

Event items could've stayed in my opinion, but getting BNPs was kind of over the top.

You can still get BNPs. You just can't pull a Purple med-kit anymore.
Basically you get a green item + two random addons and those addons can't be event ones.

If i read correctly it says you do not get ultra rare ITEMS. Not addons.
So The addons might still be free game (bnps and the like you just cannot get event ones) you just cant get like a purple beamer (said above)

Also let's not forget in the same list of bug fixes is one about Drama no longer slowing you down when activating. That's pretty huge.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was always supposed to be rare/green items. It was just a bug that made it give ultra rare.

You still get the Utility Torch, Engineer’s Toolbox, and Ranger Kit. It can actually be classified as a buff because it removes the chance to get a Rainbow Map and Skeleton Key which are the weaker items.
Only event items are nuked, which to be fair, seems unintentional since they’re event addons and Ace in the Hole doesn’t have the same effect.

Getting the event add-ons are what really made it stand out though. Loaing keys may not seem like a big deal buy I've had the random key come in clutch on more than a few occasions.

This perk can be nuts. I was watching that streamer who's the #1 ghostie. And a Jill dramaturgied a syringe right at the last moment in end game and he lost the game.

Oh. That's a bit odd in my opinion.
Purple is Very Rare, so from what I understand you could still get a Utility Flashlight or Ranger Med-Kit.
The only Ultra Rare survivor items are the Rainbow Map and Skeleton Key, both of which are well... terrible. Seems strange to prevent a survivor getting a Rainbow Map but allowing things like BNPs and AHSs.

Wow. That's awful. I couldn't care less, if the medkit you get with this perk is green or purple as long as you don't get a syringe or styptic agent on top of that. That is really a bit too much imo.
The part about event addons is sad. That was so funny and overall probably a healthy addition. It helped create more of these random stupid but fun moments.

I'd guess the patch note is worded poorly and they mean addons too, but at the very least i can't imagine their intent was that you can't get maps and red keys and that the intent was to get rid of random pulling of BNP for example.

The wiki got updated and according to its text its still you can only get greens but the addons are random.
(and they normally test)

they should buff ace's ace in the hole perk that nobody uses to pull iri and purple add-on's for chest looting builds. I was surprised at the consistency of pulling those perks.

The issue is that a lot of purple and iri add-ons aren't worth using over green's and yellow's.
BNP's, Gel Dressing, Abdominal Dressings and Syringe's are all good.
Things like Odd Bulb are bad, so is the Crystal Bead. Blood Amber without Prayer Beads is useless. Wedding Ring isn't super good either. Weaved Ring and Milky Glass are okay, but only on a particular type of Key.

That's what i'm saying though, the wiki is going off of the patch notes and anyone can edit a wiki. My point is, i'd guess the intent is to remove the random BNP, so my assumption is either: A) the patch note is poorly worded. B) they disabled ultra rare items but forgot to disable the ultra rare addons as well. Because i can't imagine a world where the perk "needs" a nerf to remove the ability to get a red key or a red map both of which i pretty "meh" this days.

odd bulb is ok. you can chain-flashlight blind for very long blind at pallets but it generally is not worth bringing into the trial because of loss of efficiency but since the perk is giving you items for free, you don't really care. blood amber is good with no add-on but you won't be able to use it very much if it is not an iri key. wedding ring is free aura reading so it is ok. The other stuff is worthless or niche so I agree with your post.

After using it in a few matches a feel like they lowered the odds of getting an item as well as lowered the odds of getting a purple item. None of the add-ons I had today were above purple either.

I played 1 match, got 3 items.
Mechanics with 2 yellows
Broken Key with 2 yellows
Broken Key with a yellow and purple.
I'll get more data, but I don't think the odds have been tampered as the toolbox doesn't have many high rarity addons.

Why would the rarity of the medkit matter to you with those add-ons? Once you use the add-on it consumes the entire medkit. Would be better to just burn a brown or yellow kit. Well I guess it doesn’t really matter anymore since they all heal the same.

This was the 12th item I gotten.
Iri addons are still possible. All 12 items were all green quality (rare).
I've gotten a few very rare addons as well.
From what I can tell the changes are basically:
- Items are always rare quality now
- No event addons.
It's important to note, there's 2 green toolboxes whereas every other item has only a single variation at rare, so toolboxes should be the most common and toolboxes lack very rare addons.
Keys have 4 very rare, Med-kits have 2 very rare, Flashlights and Maps both have 1 very rare. So most of the time when you get a very rare addon, it's likely going to be on a key.

too strong of a perk for BHVR apparently , even when its RNG based still and the perk barely came out.
I understand about the old event items but the ultra rare items that had a pretty little chance to spawn ..come on.
meanwhile MFT........at this point idk how their balance mindset is ; soooo weird.
