A Fix for Survivors Giving Up on Hook
Hey there
So with the new disconnect bots, i gotta admit BHVR did a good job implementing this. The bots are surprisingly better than the survivors who give up, even though the bots have room for improvement, and do questionable things throughout the match.
With that being said, there is still the problem with people giving up on hook, who refuses to DC if they don't wanna be in the match.
My question is then, why is a survivor given 3 chances to escape at first hook? Why not create a 5-10 second window between 2nd phase of the hook, and 1st phase, where you have 1 attempt to free yourself. Instead of the previous 4% per attempt, for a total of 12% for 3 attempts, you'll have for example 10-12% success of freeing yourself, but only 1 attempt, when you are nearing the 2nd phase of the hook. This prevents petty survivors from giving up on hook immediately, and encourages you to attempt to free yourself when you really need it (Almost hitting 2nd stage, due to being camped, or other teammates not being efficient with rescuing). This can also prevent new players for mistaking the "Attempt unhook by yourself" to be a good thing, when getting hooked immediately.
I see no good reason to NOT implement this, and i would like to hear what you guys have to say about this. Also, of course Deliverance should still be able to be used whenever you want during 1st hook.

Just because the game is unfun for survivors, doesn't mean my solution does not "fix someone giving up on hook", and it clearly DOES prevent people from giving up on hook, since you have to wait till a certain point to be able to attempt escape.
If the game is not fun for you, then go ahead and DC. The same goes for every other online videogame, where you can either play the game out, or Disconnect and get a penalty. Luckily for you, the penalty received in Dead by Daylight, is a tiny fraction, compared to every other videogame, like CS:GO for example.
We are not talking about tunnelling, camping, 3-genning right now, even though i agree heavily that BHVR are extremely slow at doing something about it (My theory is that they won't do big changes, but rather small patches concerning these issues, over a long period of time, so that they don't anger / trigger all the killer mains out there, that wants easy games).

People who really don't want to play aren't going to no matter how much harder you make it to get out of the game. They will just immediately run back to the killer and get downed again. Either that or they will start trolling. If you want less people to give up on hook then reduce the DC penalties to something more reasonable so people will be incentivized to DC instead of giving up on the hook and screwing their team over completely. The fact that they made the DC penalty more harsh after they added DC bots is pretty wild.

Alternatively, if you find yourself consistently not having fun with the game go play something else.
Idk why you guys keep forcing yourself to play if you aren't having fun.

Your feedback is you want to allow people to rage quit games, because it's not fun. Which just begs the question why are you still playing if you aren't finding the game fun currently.
You can leave feedback on things that aren't fun while not wanting people to be able to freely rage quit out of games.

Might as well just remove the gens completely if people can't stand the killer defends them instead of watching them create the most insane gen spread in history. They've introduced basekit bt + haste and strong anti tunnel perks like OTR for people to still complain. Face camping is receiving the basekit deli which also will give you endurance so that will be less of an issue.

Hook suicide mechanic is outrageous and only serves to undermine the DC penalty and allow rage-quitters to grief their teammates.

Not a bad idea, probability is 11.6% of escaping on 3 attempts currently. I like the current system, but it is unfortunately exploitable, since as per usual we can't have nice things cause of bad actors. I'd obviously probably allow an attempt when all survivors are hooked/dying as well.
Regards to players going and getting hooked again by the killer... good. They still took up more of the killers time, and the killer can even decide to leave them slugged on the floor for being a #########, which I would certainly do. Combined with an inarguable report for assisting the enemy team, that's a win in my book.
I still maintain there is no excuse for suicide on hook. I hold no ill will towards the killer, no matter how sweaty, try hard or lame they play, even face camping Bubbas. If you want out of the game, the least you can do is play risky and try to waste as much of the killers time as possible.
The mechanic to escape is not bad in of itself, but it's ruined by bad actors, so making it a really big pain in the ass to get out without incurring the DC penalty, makes it so you're almost better trying to make a game of it.
