What’s the point of having tiers for perks...
If they are going to be patched to the point where all tiers do the same?
Say, Hex:Ruin, the regression percentage was useless but the fact that the tier made it more intrusive because it affected more or less survivors was what mattered the most. The same was done to BBQ in this patch and to Alert a few patches ago...

It is for balance issues
Ruin is useless atm and ptb is fixing that issue, SO FINALLY NOT EASY GEN RUSH

Suuuuure. The majority of killers are running it because it's "useless".

I’m all for Hex:Ruin being like it is now in the patch, but these patches make perk tiers to be a worthless thing. Why not make such perk standard and single tiered?

There is no change to ruin, if you have ruin 3, you won't even notice a single difference.
As for the tiers, I am pretty sure they are just there to create a grind and give people a reason to play (max every survivor and killer etc.)

But Ruin 1 will be enough now, why bother going for the other 2?

DBD Players: "DEVS, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE GRIND!!!!"
Also DBD Players: "What's the point of perk tiers if they are all useful?"

Noed 1 and ruin 1 is my new meme setup since there is no diffrent in it

Nice try and generalization.
Still, you know you will have to spend those bps on tier 2 and 3 when they give you no advantage at all because they will keep showing up in the web, so no fix to grinding.

The tiers are still different. They just made all tiers more consistent by providing the main effect across all tiers.

That’s what I mean, the main effect should be what’s different, that the point of upgrading the perks. Make the % of regression the same for all tiers, say 10%, but keep the main effect different as an incentive to upgrade it.
1 -
The main effect is the main reason why people use the perks. What's the point of tiers I and II if only tier III is useful?
1 -
Judging from your picture you obviously never used ruin 1 before to know how useless it is

A stronger regression from good skillchecks

That’s the point of grinding for a perfected perk

No, because as things are now, you're not grinding for a perfected perk; you're grinding for a perk that will actually be useful.
As things will be after this update, you will be grinding for a perfected perk.

I think this is their goal.. imo.
With each chapter bringing in 3 perks per side.. 9 levels per character... The grind is starting to get back to the earlier days. It makes it difficult for new players to enter in.
I think at some point the Devs are gonna strip out an entire tier or remove the tiered system.

Back in the day even when the grind was much bigger there were far less perks overall. So since devs wanted to have long progression they made perks in this way.
On one of the streams they mentioned they have considered to removed perk tiers to decrease the grind in the future if I remember corectly. One day we might have just 1 tier for all perks but it also might never happen. It's just one of mady ideas how to decrease the grind eventually.

I would make such perks a Standard Tier perk, like passives.

Sense of progression and power.

You want a simple answer? To keep the casuals playing. Do I like that? No, I would rather take a 0 grind game over any grinding. I don't get my fun out of grinding, I get my fun out of actually playing the game

My preference is to "feel" your abilities become more powerful as you evel them up.
Yeah, you get an increase of 1%, or the range is 1 more meter, blabla.
But you don't feel like you gain anything.
I prefer to have big distances in Perk levels, but i agree: If this is what's going on now, i'd prefer to just have no Perk levels at all.
And then maybe we can finally give our Perks our own background colors!
