Devour Hope PTB change?
It mentions in the patchnotes that Devour Hope now has a 3/4/5% speed boost at 2 tokens. Does that mean the speed boost is permanent until the totem is destroyed rather than only for 10 seconds after hooking someone?
Amazing if so. Doesn't seem like a huge difference but considering it's one of my favourite perks (when it lasts), any small buff to it puts a smile on my face π

Unfortunately, the 10 second rule still applies. Pretty bummed about that, to be honest. Not actually playing the PTB but I know they'll release a survey after so might ask if removing it in the official update is possible. Cheers, guys

It looks to me like the change is that the Exposed at 3 tokens and the Kills at 5 are available at all tiers and the speed boost is the difference between tiers.
So no difference for Tier 3, but Tiers 1 and 2 make full use of the perk now.

Oh, yeah. I got that part which is very cool. But the speed boost you normally get at 2 tokens only lasts for 10 seconds, which only kicks in 10 seconds after hooking a survivor.
Now it just says you get a 3/4/5% speed boost at 2 tokens, with no mention of the 10 seconds.
Maybe they just didn't want to take up space by including the 10 second part, seeing as it was a big list of patchnotes. But I truly hope it's a permanent speed boostπ€

Yeah I think that the devs wanted this perk to be on par with NOED since both of them basically do the same thing.
Interesting change but there is still gen rush meta, meaning that hex ruin is pretty much needed and killers usually don't use any other hex totem with the ruin. So I don't see killers using devour hope.

Sweet change. Benefits both sides, killers will be faster and survivors will get camped less.

No, they just forgot the 10 seconds.
The only change is that the tiers differ from each other in the increase of movement at the first lvl, not in the additional effects at 3/5 tokens as they used to

Well, with this new Killer perk coming into the game (Corrupt Intervention), plus Thanatophobia buffs, it could make Devour Hope a much more viable perk to use! Guess we'll see!

Yes, most likely not permanent. That said, it would be an interesting change.
I must admit though, I had an evil laugh while I was reading that section. Though I will kind of miss the surprise of getting downed normally and then suddenly getting moried out of nowhere with tier 1.

I really hope they've removed the 10 seconds. Just seems like such an unnecessary caveat to include, considering 3 and 5 tokens are super powerful. Not to mention the ever-present danger of having your totem destroyed. Surely a passive speed boost can't be that bad, right? π

I think they would've written it in. There is no "to much space" or something. I think it lasts till the totem is destroyed, which is awesome. Literally a buff to all 110 % Killers.

Nah, I meant it more as a space-waster rather than not enough space to include it. But yeah, I do hope it's permanent! The 10 second condition always confused me, and it's not like a 3-5% permanent speed boost is that powerful. I guess we'll see for sure once the PTB goes live!

What wonders me more is, Thanatophobia becomes Dying Light when all Survivors are injured. In addition with Dying Light they suffer a 49 % penalty on everything

I still wonder who the hell made Devour on 2 tokens only 10 second haste effect in the first place. It's dumb, if Ruin got such an awesome buff then I guess this one is not a mistake, it's reality.

I use Devour Hope all the time. No limit to the speed increase would be amazing. Cant see it happening...maybe they forgot to add the 10 seconds part?

I don't see why they couldn't remove it! It's not exactly a necessary effect. Surely a passive boost isn't too much to ask for.

You know how much 5 % means in a chase. Look at 110 %, you never catch someone and with 115 % you get easy on the Survivor's butt. So a 110 % Killer usually has a better power than a 115 % Killer. Making them to 115 % with Devour Hope on top of the good power will make them very very strong.

Back when it was released, Devour Hope at 1 token would globally reduce generator repair speed. This used to give out that you had it and made it difficult to get more tokens because Survivors would start looking for the totem.
This then got changed into the current Devour Hope, where the speed boost is just stapled in just to give you something other than the Exposed and Mori effects.

I know the first effects of Devour Hope. But when they changed it they needed to understand that 10 seconds of haste is nothing. Make it at least 20% for 30 seconds, or keep it at 5 % for the duration of the totems life.

In the patch notes it says 3/4/5 % haste but without the mentioning of the 10 seconds. I hope it's not forgotten, I hope it's a buff so you keep the 5 % till the totem is broken and not just for some stupid 10 seconds.

If they indeed just didn't add the whole 10-second thing to the notes, i'll be disappointed.
If they're afraid Devour Hope'll just have too many big gains by buffing the 2-Token reward, then at least remove the 2-Token reward entirely.
Sorry, but that 10-second movement speed boost is useful once every 10 trillion times, and it's just trollish to keep it at this point.
Remove it so you don't add something useless, or, preferably, buff it.
P.S. If the 10-second movement speed boost is indeed still a thing, it's even more of a laughable reward now.
Yes, you do get 1-hits & kills on all Perk levels now: Cool i guess.
But then the movement speed bonus is made EVEN worse on those levels.
As if it wasn't a bad enough bonus to get...

I use devour, haunted, myc, and bbq on spirit sometimes and if you even only get to 3 stacks... consider the game over.

I find myself not even noticing the speed boost π
I'd rather have something that barely helps than not having it at all. Removing the 10 second timer would be the best thing for it, in my opinion.

Dude, the feeling once you get 3 stacks is heavenly.
Once you get 5 stacks, it's practically god-like.

It's part of my main build, i literally never take it off.
And i don't notice it either.
I even sometimes just test it by walking a straight line before the 10 seconds and then during the 10 seconds and then a bit after the 10 seconds.
I'm don't mind believing that it works, but it's just nothing.
And then only for a 10 second period? Yeah no, might as well have nothing on 2 Tokens then.
