why do some people leave the lobby when a teammate or two are low prestige?
when i use a character that i don't use that often that is around p1, i see a lot of random teammates immediately leave the lobby. just because someone is low prestige doesn't mean they're necessarily new; it's funny how they judge without knowing that i actually have my main (mikaela) who's almost p100, like, not everyone's gonna use their high prestige-level character everytime when playing. now i always put her for a few seconds so they'd "make sure" that i'm not a "noob" and then turn back to that low character. why do they expect everyone to be p100 or something? and even if someone isn't, doesn't mean they're automatically "bad" at the game. people who do this really irritate me, because it takes forever to find players that don't suddenly leave because of some level. even when i do play a character that's at least around p20 which is considered "high enough", i never leave even after seeing my teammates having lower levels. most of the time they actually do good in the game.
kind of off topic but still: just add a function where no one can see each other's prestige levels and then we're good, because of this, as everyone says, killers also tend to leave the lobby when there is one or two p100 players.

how do you know if that's the reason?

because when i play a character that's on high level, this almost never happens. everyone just stays in the lobby.
but when i play someone who's a bit lower than that, people almost everytime leave the second they join.
coincidence?
i don't see what's so hard to get.

confirmation bias is a thing

Correct. However I will raise you and say lobbies should not be a thing at all.

Because for what ever reason people think 1 high prestige = 4 man SWF even though most high prestige Survivors are mid. Last Prestige 100 Survivor I went against that was actually good was a guy (I think hes a streamer) who I went against all the time way back in the day and was sitting at a solid 12k hours. That was like 3 months ago

There's a general overall lack of confidence in the matchmaking system. That low prestige default cosmetic player is a complete coin flip. They could be solid, but there's also a very good chance they're a very low hour backfill, which means you're also probably a backfill in that lobby. So you make a calculation: do I potentially play a match that will be a complete waste of time or back out of this lobby and re-queue instantly? It's an easy value proposition.

Maybe?
However they have said themselves that dodging lobbies creates backfills which lead to unbalanced/incorrect matchmaking. The best way to fix this is removing the ability to dodge by locking lobbies (Mandy just said this in another thread). Now may I ask all of you if we lock lobbies to allow MM to be correct why do we need to sit in a lobby that won't change? Let's just go straight into the match....right?

This, I'm sorry but I dodge default skin free characters especially meg and console, 9/10 times they are bad, I get some against me when I play killer they legit can't hold w it's very sad, before prestige in lobby was a thing people already dodged default skins

I would play my p100 chars more often if the prestige would be hidden to the killer. I think most people playing soloQ on EU server feel the same because when someone plays his p100 and the killer stays, then everyone is switching over to his p100.

It could be lobby shopping, or they could have closed the game to do something else. I've done that a couple of times before when I thought I had another game in me, but I just couldn't muster the strength to commit or something irl comes up. Sometimes it just be like that.

Depends on the numbers, but if I see a 0 prestige Meg or Claudette, I'm very certain of the feeling that we should not be in the same lobby.

Because they think they're new, and they don't want to "babysit" them.
They probably don't know one thing... Prestige doesn't mean anything.
1 -
Probably because they don't want to be embarrassed when they're outplayed by a low prestige player, instead choosing to pretend they're better.
The prestige thing has to go. A bit like the Blight's couple of busted add-ons: it's an easy fix, but BHVR somehow carries on regardless away from these easy fixes.

I leave the lobby for low pings and Megs.
I will not play survivor anymore with a Meg as a teammate. Period. Not even joking. The couple times one has slipped through because I wasn't paying attention only reinforced the rule.
But Prestige should be hidden in lobbies, definitely. It means nothing, but it absolutely affects players' perceptions. Any info you give a player will affect how they see something, and the less info they have the more importance is placed on any info given.

I will only leave if there's like 2-3 low prestige Clauds/ Dwights/Megs/David's etc. Not survivors that have to be purchased. Don't wanna play that painful game.
