Are behaviour shaking down their boots?

IGN, out of all the channels, came with their sledgehammer and crush the facts down your skull. Baldur's Gate 3 is what games should be a standard across the gaming industry. Will developers finally do something about their awful development quality of their games?

Point taken haha but I'm telling you, this video took me by surprise. Every thing he said so far isn't a lie.

unironically taking the paid reviews of big game review companies seriously is insanely goofy

    No.

Behavior has shown that you can get away with almost zero effort put in your games if you are lucky enough to carve yourself out a comfortable spot in a niche genre with no competition.

In any meritocracy based gaming world, DBD would have never survived its first year, let alone this long. Until there are viable alternatives, they are happy to take all your money for the millionth Feng Min skin while refusing to fix bugs that have been in the game since launch.

I can only agree with this video. But i cant agree with him in terms of behaviour. They have a good game with plenty of players thats been running for years.

And its not an issue of bugs, yes sometimes we get bugs when they implement new stuff. But the main concercn and a really hard one is the balance of the game. Something which is really, really hard the more factors you put into it. Which in the case of DBD is ALOT of factors.

So you're taking a clickbait article title that seriously?

This is such a strange post there's so many reasons why bhvr can't just snap their fingers and bring the game up to bg3 quality (whatever that means)

It's not about similarity, it's about the quality of video games in general.

Dbd has hardly any competition in the asymmetrical horror market, they don't have anything to be scared of because they pretty much have a monopoly over the genre

I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less and I am NOT kidding.

Yeah, I don't think they care about a random IGN article about a completely different type of game that isn't going to compete with them in the long term.

No, they are not adding sex to DBD.

BHVR is working on that Silent Hill project amongst other things. I think they are doing alright for themselves.

Well Larian quality was always exceptionally high as far as I remember, especially divinity 2 original sin, played it both solo and coop many times, top game, literally 10/10 on iron man. Their development model is just very effective, partly because they listen to players and develop game for years and years from all the feedback until it's done right. it's simple really, but very rare for some reason. They don't run the avg product conveyor, they work hard to create true greatness.

same as with witcher 3, don't expect that this type of quality will be new default, baldurs gates 3 is a very rare gem. You can't just one day decide and create something like this, Larian spend a decade building up to bg3 brick by brick.

Regarding behavior, they did a good job actually, just compare them to some other studios that make mp games and you'll see, everything is made clear when you compare it

Comparing a AAA single-player/co-op RPG to a multiplayer-only AA asymmetric horror game is like comparing apples to grenade launchers.

And for the record, you can say what you like about Behaviour's attempts to keep their game fresh and balanced (it's been pretty checkered), but nobody can deny they've been putting in the hours. Plus the game has overall improved a lot over the past year.
