Does the skull merchant actually contribute any fun gameplay to the game?
Like when I see a skull merchant at the start of the game, I just predict it will be another one of those 48 minute games where they'll stick to one build/game plan from literal start to finish (which I probably don't need to clarify here), and that prediction is just never wrong. It's always the same strat, same gameplay, and most of the times with an offering for multi story maps.

Sure, Skull Merchant can be fun to play and play against when not focusing on 3 genning. Granted, I think survivors need to recognize when they 3 gen themselves.

Absolutely, if she isn't 3-genning.
Once that's addressed, which I'm holding out hope will include the kinds of changes Skull Merchant needs to embolden her other playstyles, things will undoubtedly improve even if they aren't perfect.

If I'm in a swf, I'll do what I can to help win. Solo queue I'll play hard to get as many points as possible and when it looks like they're sweating the 3 Gen, I just give myself up and move on to the next match. I have no desire to get worked up over one match. Especially when I only face her once every few days.

Yeah like these beginner survs from Team Eternal who took 50 minutes to break a 3-gen against a 800-hour skull merchant, what a bunch of noobs /s

Some people do enjoy playing her and there are people that claim they don't play for the 3 gen and it's for them. I personally gave up on this killer. I hate her and the chance to give myself a haste effect and become pretty much unloopable is not something I consider fun.
I will not play for a 3 gen and I will not chase the survivor, set up a drone, run after the survivor to the next loop, set up another drone, rinse and repeat until I get a hit.
Playing against her is pretty much always awful. In a loop it is boring Shift + W and pre drops. And when she doesn't go for chases, then you have to play chess. I'd rather play an actual game of chess instead of Chess Merchant chess.

Not even my browser thinks skull merchant is fun.

anything that is strong like wesker, blight, nurse or skull merchant is unfun/boring/bad game design right
absolutely not biased survivors (:
running 5 times around every stone and breaking 20 pallets again and again every game is so fan right (no)
it's not supposed to be fun for you all the time you know, sometimes it's killers time to have chill 3 gen defence that by the way was in the game for years and year, long before skull merchant
sm, blight and nurse are the only killers I can play to soothe the pain caused by bs like mft/hope/buckle up/ftp, so they have to go right

Difference is wesker, blight and nurse all actually take some skill to be good with and at least engage survivors in chase to win their games. If the Wesker, Blight or Nurse isn't good in chase - they usually lose.
Skull Merchant takes no skill and actually renders a lot of survivor skill irrelevant to the equation. Look at that Team Eternal match. No doubt the survivors in that game have 10x the experience and skill of the SM player but because the SM player has mastered the art of walking to generators, pressing m2 and space bar - the match lasted 50 minutes.
It becomes a test of patience/sunk cost fallacy than any display of skill or outplaying your opponent.

Except a "chill 3 gen game" with SM can be dragged for up to an hour. And that's the problem. I can get the same amount of bloodpoints in a 10 min match against any other killer that I could get in a 1 hour match with SM. Why would I waste an hour of my time?

I've legitimately never had a match where I enjoyed going against her... or knight for that matter. Its either a really long boring match or a normal length boring match.

I’ve never faced an enjoyable Skull merchant

......just couldn't help yourself hu?

A skull merchant can mark the 3 gens she wants to guard at the start of the game with drones and there is nothing the survivor team can do about it.

The problem is not exaggerated. 100% of skull merchants that I’ve played against since her release, have tried to hold the game hostage for as long as possible. It’s to the point that I refuse to put any effort into playing against her. I see the drones and sloppy butcher, point me to the nearest hook or slug me until I bleed out. Not worth the effort at all.

No. She doesn't. The only thing I can say I like about her as a whole is the animation of her placing a drone down and checking her little remote map.. :I
That's all..

She has her fans that enjoy playing her I guess.

No. Even playing as her is boring as heck. She has Freddy syndrome but worse. She's boring for both sides, but fantastic at holding a three-gen; Freddy is also boring for both sides, but is kind of mediocre all around.

She is popular with unskilled killers who like 40 minute games. She is in need of a drastic rework. Any ideas?

Every time I get a daily with her I put on Brutal, Enduring, Spirit Fury and STBFL, never kick a gen and just go for chases. Either the survivors DC or we have a nice endgame chat.

The only interesting thing about SM is the directional input when disarming a drone as survivor - Everything else is boring and poorly designed.

Nah. The best about her is her visual design. Otherwise, she does not contribute anything to this game, neither for Killer nor for Survivor.
