How am I supposed to get exited for new updates

It's just a new microtransaction I need to buy, or another 90 hours I need to grind. New updates mean nothing to me and never have

Really strange post to make about a game that is still live and evolving. You can't freeze the game to the meta you want.

Then what would make you excited? There are usualy in each update some at least 1-2 big changes that effects everyone + some balance changes here and there. Map changes here and there, etc. None of this metters to you? Then do you even enjoying the core game then?

Also, you would have only fun if you get free chapters or characters? If you don't care about updates (other than new content), maybe you don't like much to play the game other than trying new stuff.

Also, I don't want to sound rude, I don't know your money situation of course, but with all the respect, if you want some character, each costs 5$/€ (500 cells). I think that is fair price considering you can get a lot of hours out of it.

9 000 shards isn't too expensive for free character but only if you are player who plays the game for year(s) and you allready own all characters you wanted. For players with not that many hours, it can be sure too grindy.

I honestly feel the same. I get much more excited by mid chapters with tons of balances changes than new chapters. Sadly most killers released in the past few years are just horrible to play, play against or both.

And yeah I'm one of those that support the idea of reducing the amount of yearly chapters from 4 to 3

That's fair. DBD is an online game as a service like Fortnite or League of Legends, just much less popular than either of those. Its okay to feel the constant off putting, money grabbing tendencies of games with unending DLC. This type of model has really kept DBD going somewhat strong thus far though. I wish it appealed to more people. Major changes would need to be made to the formula to not only broaden the audience of players, but actually KEEP those players playing the game instead of losing them a few weeks after said DLC releases..

Funny you say that, it's the microtransactions that keep me engaged. All the cosmetics, the new Chapters, the mid chapters, the Rift. The Grind is just something to work towards and gives me a goal each time which keeps me playing

It's hard for me to feel enthusiastic about new content when it is being chucked into the same boring and frustrating meta that DbD has degraded into. I love Alien, Xenomorph and Ripley look really cool and I want to play as them, but then I have to remind myself that it's new characters in the same ol' game.
