Any solo survivors enjoying the current meta?

How? What am I doing wrong? I find myself wanting to leave and dc games withing the first 30 seconds. I use to be able to play this game for several hours straight, now I can't even stomach playing for 2 games in a row. Is anyone actually having fun as survivor right now?

I don't have any issues playing survivor on an individual basis, teamwork varies but I don't go into matches expecting anything from anyone other than myself.

Nope cuz even with iri1 from playing my ass off they still give me potatoes that wanna play hot potato with the killer or body block people because they don't want to go down, or my fav one I could have picked you up off the floor but decided to wait 15 secs to attempt a failed flashlight save lmmfao.

I've been running Bond/Botany/Distortion/Prove Thyself lately and been loving it.

It's boring in a sense cuz it's just do things faster but I find it largely mitigates the problems of soloQ of no coordination, you kinda have to be willing to babysit the team making sure they're healed up and doing gens with them but as long as your team can loop worth half a damn it's been relatively painless.

You don't have to run distortion but I personally run it to make sure I'm getting value from my other 3 perks but you can sub it out for w/e you want.

I use WoO, Open Handed, Bond and Lithe and for me it's really not that bad. Yes, there are quite a few matches where I'll die and feel disappointed because the match wasn't all that fun. But for the most part I really have no issue with it.

When playing survivor I mainly focus on getting better at looping, so I don't focus on escaping primarily. That doesn't mean I will go out of my way and throw the game but I will take chase for a team mate even when it might not be necessary.

Basically I do the same as I do on killer. I shift my focus away from winning as the top priority and more towards having fun. It does work for the most part and I don't do too terrible in my games.

I have found that running a juiced toolbox and prove thyself are the best ways to beat regression killers. You can a lot of times, finish the gens before they have a chance to kick them. However they can still easily win if you don't pay attention to 3 gens. It is very easy to defend a 3 gen on most maps if they are relatively close at all.

i used to love the wierd and wonderful perks of the game, with silly builds that dont do a whole lot in terms of meta but are quite literally a breath of fresh air. used to always use blast mine, red herring, etc. just to use perks that you rarely see, to make the killer think 'wait, is this [BLANK]? i havent seen that in so long'.

now due to most games either geting to a tunneller or meta slave, im just doing quests and changing my build accordingly. healing quest? healing build. chase quest? case build. gen quest? gen build etc.

my old perks i havent touched in so long since either i get tunnelled out before they have a use or they do nothing because the killers running 4 slowdown.

I like to use red herring and blast mine everyone in a while. Killers usually get a kick out of it.

I don't know how current "meta" helps, but SoloQ is as frustrating, as always. Want to crush everything around when I play survivor.

I actually don't have many issues with the actual gameplay other than a few overpowered killers and atrocious matchmaking which leads to a lot of one sided games. I exclusively play solo queue so I am used to losing more than I win. What makes me play less is the ridiculously low amount of bloodpoints I get on survivor compared to what I get on killer. Survivor desperately needs a bloodpoint buff. Playing solo survivor is not worth it when you get basically nothing for your time investment. I miss the days of being able to bring WGLF and double my bloodpoints whenever I wanted. I currently only play if there is some sort of event going on.

I don't really care what killer I'm facing these days, except SM

SM is the one killer that makes me genuinely want to stop playing or DC, because the bot that will replace me is incapable of getting bored and throwing because of it whereas that will almost certainly happen to me

Sometimes. Today was actually quite fun. I played 4 games this morning and each one was 3 or more escapes. Sounds boring I know but for once they were actually close games.

One misplay and we all could have died. Some very clutch endings. Best day of solo survivor I have had in quite some time.

I also 4k’d last night a team with 4 commodious with 2 bnp’s with Trapper on Coldwind. So there’s that too.

It's really meh I was trying to do "escape 1 trial with Jake" challenge today it took forever, like someone said above every killer is playing the same way, "proxy" camp and tunnel, I don't know why devs are so focused on increasing killrates but not making the game fun, ok killers have 70% killrates against solo Q, now what ...?

Things like recent sadako buff are even more disgusting it's unbeatable for solos, I'm not touching survivor unless its +100% bonus now

I wouldn't mind the miserable survivor matches so much if it wasn't for the awful queue times that make getting into a game take so long only for me to have a bad time and get booted back to the long queue to wait for another match that will also be a bad time that boots me back to the long queue to wait for...

But I still have good matches once in a while.

This made me laugh. Had a game the other day where a killer decided to tunnel me out from the start of the game. I ran him for 4.5 gens total, but only 2 of my team mates did gens. The other team mate followed us around the map with a flashlight. I went down at a pallet and she was perfectly positioned to drop it when he picked me up, but instead attempted a flashlight save... and failed 🤣 she would have 100% had the pallet save but no

I really don't get how some people play so bad. Was the game released yesterday it sure feels like it at times.

I had a game with 2 bots nearly from the start. They do some silly things but at least we did gens.

I feel like I'm trying to baby sit a lot of my games.

Could you be more specific, please? What makes you want to quit within the first 30 seconds?

    Well. I play pig.

I mostly play an uphill battle.

For me: it looks like my games ads chill when the survivors don't take it seriously. When they do, and with that I mean THEY TAKE IT VERY SERIOUSLY, I lose by default. This involves predrops, massive shift w and comp call outs on my position. All very unfun as you can imagine. Luckily these extremes are rare and most games are just a our usual sweat fest.

Not particularly, but I'm also not particularly enjoying the meta while playing killer either.

Every game is just one endurance or haste status effect after another.

You're probably just burned out. Several hours a day is a long time to spend gaming. But that's probably just the mother in me talking lol on a good day I'll play for up to 2 hours during the day. Maybe another game or two once everyone's asleep at night if I can be bothered. During events I play more and by the end of the event I'm usually a bit burned out.

that's how i exactly feel the last days. when i get downed at the start of the match, i just get so annoyed that i just "automatically" leave the match/kill myself on the hook and then afterwards i kinda regret it, knowing that i can also get "banned" because of my rage. but if i do good enough at getting chased, then i don't get bored of it and can continue playing it. this is what happens when i play like half of the day, wouldn't recommend. i think it's just the feeling of being burnt out; breaks from DBD or gaming in general helps. even after not playing it for just one day i feel really refreshed & in the mood when i start my first match

As a solo, try to run at least 1 team perk in each of your builds. Reassurance, Kindred, We'll make it... anything.

I see alot of games with 4 survs just run "selfish" perks and forget that it's a team effort to win.

I don't know how BHVR does it, but SoloQ is becoming more and more miserable with every passing month. You'd think that there was a lower limit to how bad the experience can be. And then you get three 10k hour Blights in a row. Cool.

Sure I can give an example of a game I literally just played. When a killer kicks a gen before chasing you, you know they are running regression build. This already makes the game very unappealing, as were going to be doing the same gen 2-3 times. On top of this I was hooked and farmed right in front of the killer, instantly triggering a tunnel within 2 minutes of the game starting. Add those two on top of each other and whats the point of me hitting those skill checks?

I would trade WoO for pre-nerf Dead Hard. Since Windows plays the game for you maybe playing DH instead is skillful comparatively.

Usual survivor story, solo q sucks absolute ass. And sweaty swfs always dominate.

You want to give up in the first 30 seconds, because the killer kicked a gen?

When the killer gives you a head start in this situation and he obviously doesn´t have Pop.

What killer build would make the game more appealing to you?

You can´t blame the killer if your teammates farm you though. Thats alone on your teammates.

Only hate sloppy, tunneling and camping at 5-4 gens

I don't have a problem with how killers play the game. I have a problem with how the game is designed. You shouldn't be able to regress a gen 5 times, there should be a cap on how much each gen can be regressed. Being able to protect a 3 gen is way too easy and takes zero skill to pull off. I have played games recently where I watched killers scout the tightest 3 gen and literally never leave it.

If we are going to have MMR and my teammates are still playing like they started yesterday, what's the point of MMR. Because the killer is almost never bad in my games, but my teammates regularly are. I would trade rank based match making for what we have right now in a heart beat.

Didn't they just severely nerf healing like 3 patches in a row?

The only thing that makes me hate this game aside from 5 Gen tunnelers is being in chase for 7 minutes and not a single Gen is done. Get downed and other survivors are on the other side of the map hiding as if killer is looking for them. Had a match the other day with a scratch mirror Myers. 2 of us are hooked and a 3rd is about to be hooked. The last survivor decides to spam the unhook button at my hook until Myers downs them. Reported them and only got a "we are working on it" a few days ago.

MMR matchmaking doesn't work, reporting doesn't work, killers have over a 60% kill rate and they're still unhappy with survivor perks, survivors are unhappy with killer perks, toxic strategies are encouraged by the devs, etc. I still somehow have fun... But it's waning for sure...

I've found solo queue much better since I started running Deva Vu. Being able to break the 3 gen early makes the end game much more managable. By itself, 6% isn't much, but I do get a nice warm feeling from seeing the golden bar of progress. 100% better than the gen kicking meta. Matches lasting on average 20+ minutes sucked.

It's working perfectly fine. MMR places you against a killer at your skill level and fills in your team with people you are supposed to carry. How do you not know this? /s

I'm having fun, but then again people play with many expectations of what they want out of a game and if those cannot be met then it will make for a disappointing experience. The way I enjoy it may vary greatly from someone else.

It depends on what you're finding getting in the way of the enjoyment. If it is something you feel you can adjust in what you're after, try entering a trial with different expectations or aims from those you currently had. Alternatively, if it's because of frustration with mechanics or other players, it may be that you need a break. Regrettably, we can only change things about ourselves and if the problems you can pinpoint with absolute certainty are beyond your control then it may be time to ask what you really want out of this game and could you get what you are after elsewhere, at least for a short while.

I don't disagree with you, I think DBD is in trouble if they don't address soloQ before all the survivor players move over to Texas chainsaw massacre. Right now they have little to no competition in the genre, that changes in 3 days.
