Do you think calm spirit is good?
Never thought id put this in here. But, i have been playing with this perk for the past week. Its value seems to actually be more than i thought. With the ability of removing screams from the equation entirely you can fool the killer (as the screams for stuff like Jolt or Pain reasonance gives them knowledge of when someones on a gen). It can also remove some perks from the equation (face the darkness and thrill of the hunt combo anyone?). As well as surprisingly doing certain actions silently has been valuable, like breaking bones nearby a killer. And the scream addons and other scenarios added onto the straight value of not being kicked off stuff by screaming and having to jump back on after a bit. Honestly not screaming has been a blessing.
(Also killers will love you not destroying their eardrums when your hooked. I know personally the screams on hook can get old for me)

It counters a lot of relatively niche things. It's like ok at best.
It'd be a lot better if it didn't have a penalty to totem/chest interactions, and it should work on rummaging too. It baffles me that the developers haven't removed the speed penalty that only makes the perk worse. Without it, it might be decent.

Calm Spirit use to be an amazing perk, then they nerfed it for no reason with the totem penalty. Makes no sense for that to happen, but since that nerf I stopped using it

Surprsingly ive seen jolt, pain res, and face the darkness as more as niche. Face the darkness has been used to make uncleansable totem builds. Pain res you still take the penalty same as jolt but you dont at least get knocked off the gen and alert your location. These 3 have been the most common perks ive seen lately and they have screams incorporated in some way.

It's ok. Not screaming has a few niche applications and not alerting crows can help with stealth.
As for the penalty, it's unneeded but I don't think it makes the perk worse.
Ultimately the perk is just niche and it's hard to consistently get value from it which is not helped by having a random penalty attached to it.

If it's working for you then that's all the validation you need to understand its worth.
Nearly any perk has value which people may not fully appreciate until later, so it's great you're getting some fantastic use out of it.

Its op and needs a nerf

Its good for what its meant to do, but thing is, there arent enough instances of screaming (Specially base game) for it to warrant the slot.
Most instances of screaming are tied to addons or perks that arent even that common, and the only killer that consistently makes survivors scream is Doc, (Also Clown but doesnt matter in his case).
Maybe with that upcoming Xenocat perk it will have some popularity boost.

It countering Pain Res is only super useful when it's paired with DMS. Face the Darkness is also a really niche (and really bad) perk that has like 300 different ways to counter it, and you're essentially handicapping yourself due to the totem cleanse speed reduction. If the killer has Thrill then it's even worse. You counter FTD sure, but you make Thrill far more powerful which isn't really worth it when you can just heal to get rid of FTD.
Jolt isn't even meant to have a scream function, and is a bug, so that application will be useless once fixed.

Calm Spirit does not counter Pain Res/DMS. You still get forced off the gen, you just don't scream. DMS will still activate showing the killer that you were working on that gen.
As for Jolt, Jolt on release made survivors scream. At some point it stopped causing survivors to scream and was never mentioned in a patch notes. The devs haven't confirmed whether or not Jolt screaming is intended by design.

I would say no, but if screaming becomes a thing then it might be somewhat relevant. If the removed that stupid drawback it might actually not be troll.

I really appreciate Calm Spirit users when playing killer. It saves my poor ears the pain of survivor screams on hooks. Those screams are physically painful to hear.
It is becoming more and more useful as petks like Face the Darkness are added.

It was fine perk tho.
But for non-understandable reasons devs decided to nerf it. Now it's terrible perk.

It's a good, but not incredible, perk. People love to pretend it didn't get buffed in 6.1.0 because they think the downside it also got was too harsh, but that buff isn't nothing. Cleansing bones silently is the most real application, and if there's no line of sight, it lets you be a little more aggressive in getting rid of powerful hexes. Niche, to be sure, but certainly impactful.
That said, I do think the action speed penalty on cleansing/blessing and chest opening is too much. -30% is a lot, and while the buff they gave it was potent, I don't think it warranted a downside that severe. It's a good perk but can be tricky to use because of it.

I love they was going to buff this perk, and they nerfed it, and called a buff
LMAO

After the stupid Very unnecessary nerf, I hate it

Not really
there was one instance where I used it and the reason why we died to noed was because I couldn’t cleanse it fast enough

It was fine before the unnecessary nerf. Now it's terrible.

Oh, nevermind then, it's worse than I thought.
I'm pretty sure there's confirmed bug reports for Jolt causing Survivors to scream, but I'm not sure.

I think Calm Spirit is the funniest perk in the game. You hit the survivor and they don't even react you just hear the hit sound LOL.
In terms of balance it really sucks. The 30 percent speed reduction to actions isn't justified, it doesn't do anything spectacular.

The perk has been nerfed and survivors who've used to run it were punished for running it. You can say goodbye to blessing and cleansing totems with Calm Spirit, unless you're also fine with self-caring without botany knowledge and having your entire team hooked in the meantime.
I've used to run this one a lot while Iron Will was strong and allowed me to run it with Lithe.. But ever since Iron Will got the exhaustion nerf, I've been forced to drop it and as a result dropping Calm Spirit aswell.
Calm Spirit sounds powerful, but actually isn't worth the perk slot if you take in mind the added time from cleansing or blessing the totems. The effect is cool and all, but it's the killers who're running out of time, not the survivors.. You don't wanna put yourself into a disadvantage with barely any benefits in exchange, do you?
