Endgame with new DS
So, how's it going?? I can't play the PTB since I'm on console, so what are your opinions on new endgame, how is it turning out?

So far i did not had a chance to use DS becouse of the 60s timer, i think they should remove that part, but keep it so it only becomes avalible after your 1st hook. Of course, make it so you can only use it once per game so its not that overpowered

Ok interesting opinion. Although I also think it would still be op since all 4 guys would want a free escape at any point ofthe match. Any killers?

I've got it off twice and I've been playing since the ptb came out. the only reason I got it off was because I had to throw myself at the killer after getting unhooked, and hope they pick me up. honestly believe its a wasted perk slot at this point due to it being super easy to counter

It solves the tunneling complaint and still gives survivors a "do over" option but now comes with a penalty.
It's a good solid perk now. Killers really have no reason to grief someone with DS now (another perk of the rework).
I think it's solid.

The penalty being what? The timer or the obsession?

The former. You'll likely get camped/tunneled and you can help the killer gain more stacks on their obsession perk if the original obsession dies or DCs

Wrong! That's exactly the issue we had with the old DS, it had no real viable counters (dribbling or basement stairs are situational and can get double counter by the survivors) which gave a huge time waste.
DS is dead, it's an anti tunnel perk now and is in the best spot it ever was. 2 years that perk was here breaking the whole balance of that game, it would have been better if it got never introduced in the first place.
Don't go back to the old DS without counters.

I was worried it would turn the endgame into a free-escape fest, since once the gates were powered it would be almost impossible to kill anyone if they saved their DS for the last hook.
Anyone faced this scenario yet?

That happened more consistently with old DS I havent gotten into one of these scenarios yet.

I get free escapes with the new DS in endgame moments. Sucks for killer when the exit is open and you get downed right there and then. During the match however, better for both sides.

Better solution: have the perk stay active until a different survivor gets hooked. This lets the perk still act as an anti-tunneling perk, is better than just having the perk stay up permanently past 1st hook as it gives the killer counterplay. It also means the killer can't wait until DS deactivates; this way they will be forced to seek a different survivor or be threatened by DS.

Rofl, NO! We don't need a buffed DS! Your suggestion makes it as powerful or even more powerful than live version, as it would have NO workarounds (dribbling or being lucky you suck with skill checks) besides moris!
Keep it as it is in PTB, a simple anti tunnel perk, not a "Lel, I huv fre yscape!111 me skiullffull, git wrkcd"
