Has anyone gotten value from the new Claustrophobia?

Since this perk was buffed to work map-wide I've been trying it out on a few killers and unfortunately it still hasn't done much for me. I've had a couple instances where it did result in a free hit (typically on the first or second activation), but once survivors know about it they can easily just run for a pallet instead and it doesn’t seem to do much.

I have not played against any killers using it either. Has anyone tried this perk since its buff and if you did, did you get any value from it?

I feel like most people haven't bothered to try it because it's still just didn't look good enough to be worth even testing.

This applies to most the buffed killer perks.

I imagine this perk is very deadly on Lery's, but outside of Lery's I can't think of a map with enough windows to really justify it.

I see it more often, maybe it would pair well with tinkerer and let them finish it so you can get a down? I would assume it's nice for instadown killers. It probably needs some planning though.

I was at the receiving end of it. I was being chased and lining up for a vault into a jungle gym when the gen popped and I ran straight into that block, allowing the killer to take me down to injured.

It can be tricky enough even without the perfect timing that hit (for the killer, not me!), but blocking off vaults where commonly-used perks like "Windows of Opportunity" or "Lithe" relies on, it has potential.

It actually replaced Bamboozle on my Bubba - vaulting windows is such a slog, closing all windows for 2.5 minutes every trial feels much more practical. Especially since it's linked to gen-completion, and that's when survivors rotate.

I had most success with it on Knight though, as it often grants the goons surprise-hits.

    It's good, but inconsistent.

I'd wager that it'd be best in a build that also deals with pallets in some way, maybe including something like Blood Favour? I could see the idea being that Claustrophobia funnels survivors towards pallets, but the other perks in your build make those unsafe too- but I've not actually tested that myself.

Other than that, Claustrophobia is better than before in that it's actually usable now, but it's still one of those perks that you're gambling on getting value from, which makes it unappealing to a lot of players.

I agree. it is the type of perk to protect you against bad maps like haddonfield house window loops and garden of joy window loops...

Yeah, I did get value from it once with Blood Favor. Dissolution could work too, I’ll probably try that combo next time I play.

Interesting. I don’t really play Knight much but I’ll definitely try it on Bubba. I almost always run Bamboozle on him, so maybe I’ll pair Claustrophobia with Deadlock to help ensure 2 gens don’t pop around the same time so you get the full value from the 30 seconds of Claustrophobia/its activations don’t overlap. Since if I’m going to replace Bamboozle on him I definitely want to ensure its replacement gets as much potential for value as possible.

the game runs on autopilot when I play with the perk. I get to chase people with no stress cause All the windows are blocked. Combined with coup de grace it makes chases so much stronger

Unless you're on The Game where most looping is via pallets.

Haven't seen it do anything crazy yet. The perk alright but it just to random for me. The gen gotta pop when u chasing someone at main building to get any real consistent vaule in my experience. At shack or a jungle gym the survivor just get to the pallet still. It can be powerful randomly or useleas half of the time. Not for me

I've seen a few killers use it but honestly, as a survivor main, it hasn't made much impact on my games. I kind of see a blocked vault and think huh, interesting. Then just keep going.

i tried it out, its effect is pretty good but the issue is you dont know when a gen is getting done, so you cant play around getting value with it

itll just happen and youll go "cool this is helpful" or if you arent in chase "welp there goes 1 of my 5 uses of this perk, how sad"

itd be cool if it was token based. +1 token per gen done, and you could manually spend a token to proc it when you need it

    There's a few windows.

There's the one above the meat grinder, the one in the freezer, and there's one by one of the exit gates.

It's good one to use on Myers being blocked off from a vault then moried because someone finished a gen while you were in chase

While I was playing with my friends earlier tonight, I ran into a juicy Claustrophobia on RPD. I got hit 3 times because of the perk alone, although 1 of those 3 times if I were paying more attention to the Survivor HUD, I would have avoided that hit. I haven't bothered putting it on any Killers because I could use the more reliable Bamboozle for most Killers that don't have a method of dealing with windows. Also with Ghosty I am learning Coup de Grace distances, and I need to not mess with too much of my build to ensure I know the difference it makes.
