It's been 4 weeks... why can I not buy outfits with shards?
Title. On July 25th Dredge's 'War is Hell" skin came out. 4 weeks after release skins are supposed to be made available to players to purchase for Iridescent Shards as well as Auric cells.
Still nothing over 4 weeks now. Anyone know why this is? :/

Pretty sure its a month, should be available in a few days

Usually its not exactly 4 weeks later on a tuesday or whenever it was released. Ive noticed they do it at the end of the week once 4 weeks have passed. So if it already been 4 weeks, then it should be shards by friday at the latest.

Why are skins even locked behind a paywall for an arbitrary amount of time when they come out? If they were licensed I would understand. But this just seems like a blatantly greedy attempt to syphon money from players.

I mean, Would you rather them not have them available for shards like previously? they still spend time to make these skins... even if recently I don't like many of them
they are a business after all

They shouldn't have been locked behind auric cells in the first place. Especially the lazy skin re-colors.
And don't kid yourself. BHVR didn't introduce skins because they were having trouble making money. DLC's were already doing that just fine. They made skins because they wanted to make more money. And they've completely butchered DbD's artstyle in the process.

But they are still losing out on money making skins available for shards, even if there is a month period.
Of course they wanna make more money, like that's obvious. Like I said they are a business

Well um. Regardless of why- thanks for the answer guys!

Yeah, I don't mind the current model; people who don't have an issue dropping money on cosmetics will just buy outfits they like straight away regardless.
The people who wait a month probably would never have spent the money anyway, so I don't think they're actually losing anything by making them available for shards after a month.
Of course my position has always been that they would make more money by slashing the prices (at least halving them) and thereby selling way more units, but that's not the point here.

welcome to the club bro. I’ve been waiting for a long time as well. I want my Christmas Vittorio fit sooo badly (also released on the same day as your Dredge skin) and I was also upset when it wasn’t available for shards, especially since a full month has passed.
