Please don't give up when hit with Franklin's!!

Lately I've been getting survivors in my lobby with top items/add-ons. So I've been going in with Franklin's Demise. It's a fair counter-play.

However, when I get that first hit at the beginning of match on someone with a Purple item (especially if they running Flashlights)., they just give up. They throw and stand there for me to hit them again, then kill themselves on hook.

i am really confused by the way players give up the games that they play as of late. i do wish people would just try to enjoy a game for what it is.

Yeah, ppl can get miffed over absolutely anything, anymore, so much that they often don’t see (or care to see) how it affects others.

I feel like you posed this with some good encouragement vibes, and it’s really a refreshing feel from some of the usual angry/frustrated vents that come off as immediate post match attacks, on here.

    Feels Awesome, tbh… Like a positive bonfire☺️

If I was a Franklin’s DCer and read your post, I’d absolutely make the effort to be chill, understanding, and play thru, while appreciating the fun both sides get to have.

DBD was meant to be played in uplifted spirits and community fun as the primary focus.

Wish ppl wouldn’t’ve lost sight of that.

With blood point webs made cheaper I see so many more very strong toolboxes/medkits why get mad the killer used 1/4 of his perk slots so 2 commodious bnp don't get pumped into a gen with crazy medkits

There seems to be a specific subset of survivor mains out there who think that running Franklins or Lightborn is 'cringe', because it's totally unfair to them that the killer should have any sort of counterplay to the strong items that they run in every single match.

I'm not trying to rag on all survivors or take sides in the pointless killer vs survivor war, this is just a specific group of people who feel a false sense of entitlement. I still periodically get survivor teams who quick-switch to flashlights in the lobby just so I don't have the chance to equip Franklins or Lightborn (not that I would bother).

Styptic Agent & Anti-Hem Syringe is what I'm talking about and medkit nerf/coh nerf hurt solo queue, but that more of an issue with bhvr refusing to add basekit aura reading. You have to dedicate a perk slot just to know where people are and even then trying to get healed just wastes too much time.

This brings up another question.... is Franklin's justified now that the medkits are considerably nerfed? Tollboxes will usually be consumed (I think) by the time you get to apply franklin's on them anyway.

That's not a recent thing. Most one-trick survivors/SWFs lose their minds when they're denied the one trick they can do. Lightborn vs flashlights, Franklin's vs sabo squads, etc. Been around for ages.

Certainly. Nerfing one item type doesn't suddenly make all others useless. Plus, even the nerfed medkits can get recycled with perks like Built to Last and Scavenger.

It's hard to say honestly, since reducing the charges of an item dropped by Frankie's was originally introduced to counter Keys. But then the hatch changes came in and made keys borderline useless.

Did you hide the detail that you were playing Skull Merchant?

In over 8600 hours I have never seen someone give up because of Franklins.

haha, nope. I don't think I've ever ran it with Skull Merchant.

If I'm not running the item for a specific reason then it's fine, but It always seems to happen when I have a challenge. Like sabo 4 hooks and I bring a toolbox, or blind the killer so I bring a flashlight.

I won't straight up quit, but if you remove my sole purpose for playing that game, I'm not really going to care about the outcome.

Well, i never dced for that reason, but i can understand that. There are so many campers/tunnelers that you have to expect to face the game with only 3 survivors pretty soon. So you might need your toolbox to keep up.

The thing is, nowadays you can see pretty early how the game will turn out, because most matches are a stomp for one side anyway. You go down and noone has touched a gen yet even though you were in a chase for over one minute? Yeah, you can tell you wont win that match. So the most of the time, you just get out of the match and try to find a better one.

I mean a lot of the challenges in the tome involve using items and if the killer hits you with Franklin's at the beginning of the match you know this match you're not going to make any progress towards your challenges. Obviously if this happens once in a while you should get over it but if it keeps happening multiple matches in a row, I can see being very frustrated and giving up.
