A Question for Solo Queue Survivors

What do you do if one of your teammates kills themselves on the hook at 4-5 gens? Do you try your best to win the match, or do you just feed yourself to the killer?

I generally try to keep going, but sometimes it happens multiple matches in a row and I don't have the energy for a long, drawn out match that will end up with us all dying regardless. So I just feed myself to the killer and move on.

How do you guys handle it?

If I stick it out I usually just go for chases. That way I will at least die first. I'll go out in a blaze of mediocrity.

Depends entirely on the killer to be honest and how previous games went.

I do never give up, always attempt to win.. If I can't escape myself, I will try my bests to guarantee to at least one of the survivors the chance to escape through the Hatch.

If my team mates try to reveal my position to the killer and such stuff.. I do sit on the generator, and it's up to the killer whether they want that free grab or not..

I’ll just continue on. Sit on a gen until I take chase. Gonna get my BP’s worth from the match.

Keep trying my best, use the situation to practice running the killer, maybe work toward my current chalenge if its kinda throwing in a proper game. Sometimes killers actually respect the lack of giving up and let me go, most times they don't and at least i got some practice out of it.

If the killer is one I don't enjoy facing at the best of times (Ghost Face, Pinhead or a Tombstone Myers), then I probably won't try very hard. I will do just about enough not to de-pip and then I don't really care what happens.

But it really depends on my mood and how long I've been playing for. If it's at the end of a long and frustrating session, I'm more likely to DC rather than let the killer take me out of the game early. But if I've just started, I'll try harder and maybe hope I can get hatch or a gate escape.

I don't take items into a match unless I have a challenge to do, so BP is kind of useless for me. Unless I want to get a new survivor up to prestige one.

Give up immediately. You don't get any meaningful amount of points for staying in the game. It's just a waste of time.

    I always try.

But i make more stupid things like cleansing totems or go to the basement to get some points.

Depends, if the other teammates are still trying, I'll try to play normally. If my other teammates are giving up, it's time to cleanse dull totems, go for any unhook possible, open chests, etc. I usually am always burning BP offerings and I'm not wasting them.

It depends. Sometimes the killer lets up off the gas and I will keep playing. But most killers keep sweating so I make myself easier prey, in most cases. It's very rare for people to DC/hero for no reason. Last DC I had was because the killer camped to secure a hook stage and the survivor gave up.

It depends on the killer. Some killers in a 3 v 1 situation at 4 gens you can make a match out of it, still probably will lose but might as well try and have a match.

Other killers, as was stated above, I too will just stay on the gen and force the killer to make a decision. Some killers you just know they are going to be super excited for the easy 4k. Had a Trickster (no surprise at all) get an opt out on hook at 5 gens, then chase and down the next person who also opts out. I sat on the gen and was like I sense. Dude knives me down and slugs to find the last survivor who was hiding in a locker. Good times.

I will keep playing until I'm the last one.

Pretty much this. If it's an annoying/OP killer I just give as few points as possible and go next, or stealth around to drag out the trial for them as long as possible. Otherwise I'll farm some BPs popping chests/totems/working gens until found.

Depends on the killer if it's someone like death slinger or wesker I keep going

But of its someone like skull merchant or knight I feed myself especially sm

I keep playing as normal. Sometimes we manage with 3 people to get gens done, but more often than not I just treat the game as a bloodpoints game. I'll take time to cleanse totems and open chests. I basically accept that I'll die that round so try make it worth my while.

I keep going and do the best I can. Now if it’s against a killer who is downing & hooking the rest of us pretty quickly, then I may just give up on my second hook so the last person can have a chance at hatch. This is definitely the case if 4 or 5 gens are still remaining to be completed.

Try to get the best out of it. Focus a bit more and see the situation as a challenge. And don't forget to report.

Last night was such a dumpster fire that I actually started running Clairvoyance. Immediately after, all totems formed a union and went on strike.
