Honestly dont know what to do with Xeno
I know a lot of ppl talking about how powerful Xeno is but every match I have had with it has been miserable. Tonight alone I had 10 matches and you know how many kills I got in those 10 matches? 0, none, zep and barely got 2 hooks in any of those matches. I'm so tilded so bc I didn't know what I was doing wrong. I have been trying my best to get better at Xeno all this week and I'm at the end of my rope right now. I kinda of want my money back because right now I'm not having fun anymore with them at all. I am not running that bad of a build on him either, Eruption, Pop, Tinker, and Discordance. If anyone has some advice I'm open to it. I'm having a hard time landing tail attacks mostly, esp close-up ones. I just can't end chases fast enough and apply pressure at all. I'm thinking about taking off Tinker bc I think it's hurting me more and helping bc I get panicky when I hear it go off esp when I'm in the middle of a chase with someone. I just don't know what to do anymore, I wanted to main this killer but at this point, I'm going back to Legion which saddens me.

Also as a few notes, all builds are Otz builds for Xeno. I'm bad at doing builds myself and always use his builds in my 1k hours of the game. Another note on the first match in Thomson house I know what my major mistakes were aka picking up the ash when knowing the Steve was nearby with a flashlight and hooking the ace in the endgame knowing I haven't hooked him before and there was a good chance he had Deli. Anyway, Ill continue to add games to the playlist.

It might be a good idea to practice against bots in customs to get a feel for the power.

More so learn the tail length, loops and other things. The killer is super oppressive for the most part.

First replace Tinkerer with a perk to delay your game. I would recommend corrupt or Deadlock or Ultimate weapon so you can practice more chases. Secondly, for your tail gameplay, if you can get a M1 go for that instead of the tail only use the tail when you know a survivor will be animation locked or when they are stuck in a very bad position. I know from experience, you might be using your tail too much and missing too often. Secondly, use your tunnels and stealth to get an advantage early. Additionally, try a mixture of slugging one survivor and going for another to build up pressure. Lastly, try to record some of your games and watch through and see what you did wrong. If all this does not work then Xeno might just not be for you.
Tldr, Use M1 unless you have to use your tail to get a hit, also try hit and run and using your tunnels to chase quickly.

Did you ever played with ranged killers? Slinger, Nemesis or Huntress.
Xeno has similar power but a bit different. You need to wait survivor lock in animation and then use hit. But you need to timing well. Xeno is strong killer but tail is the most important part of him. So you need to learn how to use power.
Playing against bots can help. Watching content creators can help.

I played against bots alot doing ptb, in fact I played against noting but bots doing the ptb and I was doing fine then. I dont know if bot matches would help me much more.
I hate deadlock ALOT so I may try corrupt. Deadlock is one of those perks I feel I never get value from and the games never feel like they are delayed by much. No matter what killer I use it on it just feels like it does nothing at all. Corrupt on the other hand is my all-time fav perk so I try that. As for recording myself, I feel that won't work for me. I would need someone to review the videos for me and tell me what I'm doing wrong bc I can never point out my own mistakes. Thanks tho for the other advice.
I did get that build from otz, all my builds are from him. I never had a build that didnt work for him other than this one. This first time one of his builds has really failed me, that's why Im having a hard time figuring out what is wrong bc I know the build is fine. As for addons I never know what to run alot of time. Im been mostly running the one that gives 33% more res to flamethrowers and either the kane's helmet or the xeno egg addons

I played those killers before but only nemmy I have a lot of time on. I suck really bad on huntress and slinger has always been meh to me. The thing about nemmy is I got good at dragging my whip and I don't think you can do that with the tail. I do know you can drag it down over stuff and hit ppl who hiding behind a pallet or a short wall. I did that a few times already.

He is similar to Nemmy. You won't need to hold tail and whenever you use power, tail hit will happen immeaditly.
So play him like Nemmy but a bit different way. Chase survivor like m1 killer. Whenever you think they will drop pallet or vault, use your power. If they greed, m1 them. If they bait, m1 them.

I'll try to give my analysis of the first game in the morning.
I watched the first 30 seconds. Turret knocked you out when you could've hid from it and kept your power and have the Survivor zoned. Kept chasing without power, which is a big mistake, imo.

Don't get deceived by survivors that don't want to put turrets or don't want to change their perks to counter Xeno.. Xeno is not op at all, while he can be decent at loops if he have the tail attack, hes still susceptible to gen rush like every killer.
This build i use goes good for the most times.. this guys bringed the big guns and i could manage to kill 3 but with a lot of effort. But don't expect this build to be as effective as in my screenshot.. before that match 3 survs escaped.. It depends on the skill of the SWF and how hard you try and the map.
if you don't recognize the perks its: Save the best for last + Scourge: Pain Resonance + Pop goes the weasel + Rapid Brutality
About addons.. those two are good: One tells you about gen progression with red aura and the other gives undetectable if a turret take out your power. But the addon that gives 5% speed while upon leaving the tunnels is also good. Have fun friend.

It seems to me like you're getting matched against sweaty bully squads every game. There's not much anyone can do about their exploitative tactics, unless you're Otz and you have like 10,000 hours in this game.
The ridiculous auto-dodges, the literally always knowing where you are, the literally always knowing where your hexes are, the pallet-drops into flashlight-blinds, the leading you on a goose chase forever without ever catching them, the ridiculous in-your-face to save each-other tactics, all reeks of organized sweat squads.

The big way they keep getting you is, you always chasing them forever while their buddies are doing generators. They will have it down to a science how to "loop" a killer forever, without ever getting caught. In the meantime, their buddies will be pushing the gens the whole time you're running around like that.
I think when you realize they're leading you on a long chase on purpose, you should disengage and go back to patrolling generators much sooner. (Although they will counter that by running straight to the gen like a psychopath the instant you turn around to disengage from them.)

Alien is like a teleport killer, an information gathering killer, and a chase killer, simultaneously. But his "teleport" and information gathering relies on the tunnels. You seem to be good at finding where they are when you're in tunnel, and you've seen how they can't be cheeky and hide from you due to Killer Instinct when you exit the tunnel.
If you're going to be spending a lot of time above-ground like you tend to do, maybe I would take more information gathering perks, like, I dunno, Spies from the Shadows. I just got done grinding Pyramid Head, who really has no way to get around, so he needs to know where to look. With Spies from the Shadows, I literally always know when the survivors are trying to be cheeky around me, it does so much work.
I noticed you using Legion's perk to tell if two or more are on the same gen. Another alternative could be The Pig's Surveillance, which will tell you as soon as a gen stops regressing. (Though you'll need to be more focused on patrolling gens if you want to get use out of that one.)

The thing about Otz and other streamers like him is, when they recommend a build, they're recommending it to people who are good at the game and can exploit the build. They recommend Legion's perk for Alien because of how quickly you can get to a gen through the tunnels. The intended strategy Otz and other streamers are thinking of is: "split the survivors up and then oppress them". But that's going to rely on you always being on their ass as soon as they try to team up on a generator.
If you're not going to play like that, then you should create your own build that fits your playstyle.

I haven't tried Alien yet, but when I do, I think I will bring my Pyramid Head build over, because it did so much work for me as Pyramid Head.
Spies from the Shadows: Crows within x distance of you give you a visual when a survivor goes near one. If you are going to spend a lot of time above-ground and get burned by turrets a lot, this could help you find survivors more consistently.
Hex: Ruin: I see you already use this one. It's good if you want to focus on chasing and don't want to spend time kicking. It de-activates when someone dies, but that's fine. The "early game pressure" is worth it. If they're good enough not to die, you keep getting value out of it. Once one of them are dead, you probably won't need it anymore. (Though you will need to be consistent about kicking gens once it's gone, and sweaties will probably find your hex totem, so you may wind up having to kick gens anyway.)
Surveillance: Regressing gen turns white. When it stops regressing, it turns yellow for 8 seconds and then turns red again. This has a fun synergy with Hex: Ruin. When you chase someone off of a generator, Hex: Ruin activates Surveillance without having to kick the gen.
Sloppy Butcher: I put this on all of my killers because it's just a good, solid perk. Helps waste their time by taking longer to heal. Makes me feel like my hits get more value. :P

It's fine to look to others for build ideas. But at the end of the day, you still have to make a build that fits your own playstyle. You can borrow ideas if you think they will be good for your build.
Other than that, I would just say: Recognize when a survivor is leading you on a wild goose chase, and then just leave them and go patrol gens. If you keep their gens low, they can't escape.

A more advanced addition to this: If they are outplaying you on the gens, try to make sure the last three gens on the map are close together, so they'll be easier to patrol. Then make sure and patrol them and don't get too obsessed with chasing someone forever. If you whittle all the gens down to zero, then you can go chase someone around the map knowing that they won't finish a gen in time.

It's mainly about learning to use the tail as far as I can tell. I haven't brought him to play killer yet, but playing against him as surv?
It's hard to counterplay, it doesn't telegraph like slinger or huntress, which makes it hard to dodge. My best bets for dodging are usually faking out doorways, vaults and greeding pallets. But reactively dodging it feels impossible.
Again take this with a pinch of salt because I haven't played him yet. But I reckon he'd do well with moniter and abuse. Decreased TR while crawling could cause him to surprise ppl.

I watched your some videos.
I don't think you have problem with using tail. You are not bad with it. In time with more use, you will just get better. You know how to use it.
But you did some mistakes which made you lose games.
- You are not checking around for turrets which makes you lose the power. Always expect turret whenever you are going to progressed gen. Turret should be your first target, check around and break it.
- You are chasing survivor with no power. If you are not on position to get them down, don't chase survivor with no power. Enter the tunnel and get your power back.
- You are a bit panicking when you use your tail. You could get some 100% hits but you used your power a bit early.
- Basic killer mistake, you played so fair against strong teams.
But after all of these, you still got a lot hooks. I don't think you are bad with Xeno. You just need to play him more.

I think it's just you and Xeno personally. I have the same issue with Blight, I cannot do anything, it is the weakest killer in my personal tier-list, F-tier.
If you really want to dedicate to Xeno, advice pretty standard:
- practice with bots
- watch YT (there are already 100+ Xeno win streaks)
- check on your videos what would you do differently if you could, imaginary, save and load (not about tail accuracy, but in scenario in general)

Thank you for the advice and the kind words. I also think I may play too far but I really don't like tunneling or camping even when Im against strong teams, that might be one of my issues. Glad to hear I'm not as bad as I think with his tail, I felt I was trash at it. As for turrets I have gotten better at looking out for them for the most part. I think it just panics bc when I see a survivor I want to hit them as fast as possible and I don't want to lose sight of them.
Either way, thank you for all the advice from everyone. Plz continues reviewing my videos and pointing out my mistakes. I never really recorded myself before since I'm really bad looking at my own gameplay and seeing my own mistakes. It's kinda of nice to have others suggest things for me to do. Thanks.

I haven't bought or played as Alien yet, so take this with a grain of salt. It looks to me like a lot of it is, you just need more practice on this killer. Using the tail attack looks a little wonky, so I'm sure that'll take practice. Awareness of your surroundings would be my next big one, I think, and it's completely understandable. The turrets are a new thing so it may take quite a bit of playtime to always remember to check for them first.
There are also times when you are eating pallets that I think would be more suited to practicing the tail attack. I mostly play M1 killers so I rush through a lot of pallets. When the power can hit over them though, it may be best to practice hitting with the tail instead.
My last 2 points are more of general gameplay. You don't seem to tunnel or camp much at all and I thank you very much for that. However, there are times when you are almost being too nice. There are times when you could've slugged and used it as pressure instead of picking up and hooking right away.
This one I'm not sure about. I think killers still have separate MMRs, even though matchmaking isn't always great. It could be possible that it's started you out at too high of an MMR for learning the killer and maybe it will balance itself out as you play. Then as you get better with the alien it will creep back up. I am in no way, shape, or form, sure about this theory though.
Lastly, everything I said above may not even have much of an effect. I use to play to win, tried really hard, etc... Now though I just play killer very casual like and don't really even go for kills. So at my MMR, even though matchmaking often sucks, it isn't always so much of a challenge.
I think I'm on video 4. I will watch some more in a bit and see if anything sticks out to me. Thanks for uploading them, I haven't watched much Alien gameplay yet.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm also struggling to do well with this killer. It doesn't help that most survivors I face are already fed up with it and give up immediately, which doesn't feel great. Or the turrets keep knocking me out of my power and they get an easy 4 out without much trouble.
I think the secret to being successful is learning how to use the tail effectively. So I 'm focusing on improving with it and forgetting about trying to win for now.
I'm sure you already know this, but if you have a Killer that you're fairly proficient with, this will pull the match making ranking for all your other killers up with it. So there's a chance you're getting survivors you would normally face with your very best killers. For this reason, I always get destroyed for quite a few games whenever I'm trying out a new killer.

So to try and be more helpful I bought Xeno to give it a go. First match I was struggling just to figure out the buttons lol. I've only played a couple of matches but I was just trying to hit mostly with the tail.
I probably missed 30 shots with it the second game but I learned that aiming slightly up seems to help. Especially when someone is headed towards a vault. The barely aiming up also seemed to help me a lot with destroying the turrets. The first match they knocked me out of power quite a bit but the second match I think I only got knocked out of it a few times. It's definitely going to take time to remember to watch for them though.
The tail hitbox is not as forgiving as it seems to be from the survivors point of view. I also never bought Nemesis so I have no practice with his tentacle hits. Going in and out of the tunnels to quickly gain power after losing it seems to help as well.
Your 5th game it looks like you did quite well. Lots of hook stages. I will say that the survivors you're going against seem to be more gen oriented. That can make it hard to get practice on any killer without losing some game.
