Why do people hate Weskers?
I genuinely think there's a lot of counterplay to him certainly better than Alien barf.

Saturation, thats pretty much it.
Even if its good, you will eventually get fed up with it, if you only see that.

I think most players only dislike him due to how popular he is and not anything to do with the actual character or his power.
For me personally, his popularity doesn't bother me, I like going against him.

Overall I like Wesker but if you get him like 4+ times in a row its starting to get boring.

Personally, I just don't like the character and he doesn't shut up. He'd be much more tolerable if he never spoke.
2 -
I don't.
Wesker is very well balanced killer and it's so fun to play against him.
The only thing i'd change about him, stop building infection after survivor unhooked. Let's say for 60 seconds. That's would nerf his tunnel potential but everything else would stay same.

Just make it stop after unhooking while in chase.
This way you nerf his tunneling without nerfing anything else in a unnecesary way.

Silly reasons: I'm not a huge fan of his terror radius music. And his radius is so huge you pretty much hear it all game. His run cycle is kinda goofy (but not in a funny way like Wraith's).
More sensible reasons: Collision detection and hit boxes can be a bit funky. The way his Virulent Bound just needs to hit a single pixel for him to slam you into just about any ridiculous thing. The Iri add on that lets him start the game with everyone infected is pretty obnoxious too. I know we're in for a sweaty time if he's running that one.
It also annoys me that he's got a vaulting power that's arguably better than the The Legion's. That's meant to be our thing!
That said, I don't face him very often so he's not really up there among my most hated killers.

I simply don't like Wesker as a whole, i think his personality and design is a bit shallow and he fits kind of awkwardly in DBD.
That said i like playing as and against him because of the gameplay.

Most people just hate how he makes up half of their games in a play session. It's hatred via overexposure. Wraith had this problem as well when he got his big buffs. Freddy too.
The other people who dislike Wesker either hate how his power works (As in they hate how disorienting being grabbed is etc) or they don't like the slight jank associated with his power and ping.

1) Oversaturation: It becomes incredibly not fun if 2 out of every 3 games you go up against the same killer especially if
2) Playstyle: Weskers are almost as likely to tunnel from moment one as Nemesis mains. And since there are a lot of crazy good Wesker mains out there, 9 out 10 SoloQ games are over the moment you see the caches.
3 -
Because he is seen every game and most Wesker's tunnel/camp. Some players don't like how disorienting grabs are either. And him constantly saying snarky comments with his voice lines. Gets annoying after a while.

When I'm Wesker I sometimes feel like I should let everyone escape after all that mean ######### I said to them.
2 -
Anyone saying anything other than what I am about to say, is wrong.
Weskers are the most likely killer to tunnel, because he has a built in way to tunnel easier.
People don't like being tunneled, end of story.

Even the most fun things in the world will eventually get tiring after doing it for a long time. People want variety, not Wesker to be nerfed or because he’s got no counters.

Wesker players thanking Mother Miranda that Xeno came along and took all the heat off them.

I feel like certain killers attract a certain type of player and that has resulted in people hating certain killers not for the killer themself but the people that tend to play them.
For me, it is Trickster. I've never met anyone that plays Trickster that doesn't come off like a pre-teen that got banned from Fortnite.
And I've certainly seen a few Wesker players that are kinda...not toxic but certainly annoying. When that happens over and over, people start to dislike the character as they anticipate the match is going to be miserable.

Because i can't stand having to play against him more than twice in a day, also because i can't stand the Wesker fanboys on this forum and their insufferable glorifying of the killer.

He's popular. That's why.

Multiple reasons.
- Overuse: Too many people play him, so it gets boring/annoying to go against him in a game with 30+ Killers.
- Lag: When he is laggy, he is super frustrating to play against. The Killer can get hits around corners and through walls, and despite clearly dodging on the Survivor's screen, he too often unjustly gets the hit through latency. Only arguably Huntress reaches the same level of lag based frustration.
- Tunneling: His kit is 2nd only to Pyramid Head in terms of debilitation people and tunneling them out of the match. His infection starts at half, so even if he screws up, he can win by hindering the tunneled Survivor. Even if he loses sight of them, the Sprays provide Killer Instinct for where the victim is, and there even is an add-on to make the Survivor Oblivious post-spray.
- Visibility: His TR is an unusual 40m, so it lulls people into a false sense of security, then he is able to quickly Dash 21m total. He even is wearing a black trenchcoat and is at roughly normal Survivor height, so he can blend in as a Survivor or within the backdrop.
- Sweats: Because he is a good Killer, he draws an above average level of sweaty players. These players make the game horrible to play in, and make the Survivors question why they even bothered launching the game today. This causes even benign actions to be poisoned under the "is this dude a sweatlord" lens, and can come to false positives as a result.
To fix some of these, there could be a few things done.
- Repeat Killer prevention/Killer bans for Survivor. Prevent running into the same Killer twice in a row and the overuse isn't nearly as large of a problem.
- KI doesn't show up on Survivors who haven't completed a CA post-hook. If a Survivor sprays themself after being unhooked, the Killer Instinct won't trigger if they haven't tapped a gen/healed a Surv/touched a totem/etc.
- Post-hook infection starts at 5-10% max instead of 50% max. This would limit the ability to hard tunnel off hook through hindering the Surv. Alternatively, post-hook infection doesn't progress until the Survivor does a Conspicuous Action.

Too much of anything gets really old. And for anyone who wasn't around when Wesker dropped, this Xeno saturation right now pales in comparison.
Facing the same killer repeatedly just isn't fun. You always see it after a release, but Wesker had a ton of carryover.
