Resolution scale now has a minimum option of only 65%

Up until the Xenomorph chapter, the game had an option for resolution scale to be set to 50%, which is the only way I could get decent fps on my toaster laptop. After the chapter came out, the minimum option was increased to 65%, which doesn't give me a framerate as good 50% did. I don't see any reason as to why they did it. Did they want to scare off the low end pc players?

At first, I managed to set it back to 50% through the config file and it worked, but as of a few days ago, the game completely ignores the config file and gives me a higher resolution scale which pretty much tanks my FPS. I can't play the game like this. Anyone got an idea as to why the config file won't work anymore, and why in the world did they remove the 50-60% res scale options from the game?

The only reason I can think of is if they were struggling to support this option, but I don't know enough about that sorta thing to understand why that would be so diffcult.

You could lower your display resolution. I used to do that when I played on a weaker laptop.... heck, even after I got a more powerful desktop I still lowered it because I found all the new details distracting.

My guess is either they want to stop people from messing with the config file or its not an intended change. Hopefully they revert it.

I also noticed that the minimum quality for other settings was also raised. For exemplo prior to this patch i could get rid of basic physic effects for a little performance boost, but that is no longer the case no matter what settings i use.

Don't know how bad your pc is but here are a few things that could help, in case you have not tried them yet. You could try reducing the game's resolution size to be a bit lower than your own monitor's (You can do that while in game now) Game is going to look weird but it helps with frame rate quite a lot. Don't decrease it too much or your visibility is going to become awful.

Be sure to check if your power settings and nvidia control panel are set to prioritize performance as well. See if the game is running in real Fullscreen (windowed fullscreen is much more resource intensive).

I have a 1920x1080 monitor, I set it to the closest res which is 1650x1050, I disabled antialiasing cause somehow I overlooked that setting and now I get a good framerate again. The screen is a bit weirder now (it feels more wide and with less height so some of the characters looked a bit goofy at first but it's not that intense so I got used to it, and maybe the most noticeable thing is the black bars during a match but I don't mind them). And yeah, my game is on Fullscreen not Windowed Fullscreen. I just don't understand why they had to raise the minimum on certain things, I don't see how they affected the game for them to get rid of them. I'm fine with how the game runs now that I tweaked the settings but it's still a bit upsetting.

I did manage to get a better framerate through other setting, but for future reference, what does that command do? I'm not even sure my laptop has DirectX 12 so I dunno if it would help me
