Can I get teammates who don't die in less then 10 seconds?
I have been getting a few games where my fellow survivors are getting downed in the last 10 seconds lately and I just had a game where Claudette raged quit and the bot was doing better looping than most teammates I've been getting cause hey the bot lasted more than 10 seconds 💀

At least that's 10 seconds of interacting with the killer. My teammates just hide along the edges of the map or anything avoidant on the slightest terror radius.

I've had three weeks of this crap and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I could create compilations of matches where I loop the killer, they give up and find someone else, then the survivor goes down in like five seconds.
I wish every survivor had access to WoO. That perk is so useful for dealing with the growing pains of playing survivor.

The best is when I'm on hook and the killer is chasing another survivor on the opposite side of the map, and the other two are crouched near me but too scared to move so I go to second stage.

Can you build high MMR through playing solo queue, or do you need a SWF for that?
I've always wondered if solo queue survivors get judged as harshly as survivors in SWF. The escape rate for solo queue must be pretty rough.

No because the devs decided on top of losing MMR on your own death, you also lose MMR for teammates dying (4 deaths is a huge MMR loss). And guess who gets all the 4 person escapes? SWF do. And no one wants to be in MMRs like what OP is having problems with.

I always wonder where those killer mains who complain ad nauseam about how ‘OP’ survivors are when threads like this pop up. They say jack all about this very common phenomenon you’re facing, OP. 🤷🏽♀️

I'd say it's possible but would just take longer to build playing solo than it would playing swf.

Some killers will win a hundred solo queue matches and lose to one SWF, and the only thing they will remember is that one loss. I find veteran killer players are pretty realistic about how bad solo queue survivor can be. Killers should definitely want solo queue to be better, so they get more fun matches. I'm glad I play survivor, so when I play killer I can recognise when a 'solo queue' moment happens and give the survivors a bit of breathing room.
As long as killers aren't actively pushing back against solo queue improvements I can live with them not caring about the problems solo queue survivors face. The hysteria over the HUD and the Visual TR though, that was honestly kind of gross. Killers threatening to leave the game if deaf players got an accessibility option? I don't care if there could be some sort of advantage for survivors in general. Let deaf people have their visual heartbeat. Don't just threaten to quit. It was unbelievably gross how many killers acted. I should say that I didn't see any veteran killer players behaving like that though, only the ones that sound really young when they communicate, so mostly just self-centred kids with bad priorities.

I really wish BHVR would judge us more individually. If I'm getting judged because I can't keep my three potatoes on life-support whilst running the killer and doing the gens, then I call BS. If I'm getting a bunch of BP and everyone else is dying, then I'm clearly not just sitting in a corner and waiting for everyone to die.

The worst thing about solo survivor is the other survivors.
Out of hundreds of solo games, I have one bad face camp memory. I have dozens of intentional training of the killer onto me on a gen, even more memories of people not touching gens... and so on, its not worth complaining about.
But what could I ask for to change this? If solo survivors won't take the goals of the match seriously, short of a major re-work of basic mechanicals nothing can change.

This is what happens in so many solo queue matches. Everything just falls apart and you never recover from it. Did we get any more gens done after that? No. Did the killer get a 4k? Yes. I feel like a nanny in most of my matches.

Have to say, I am bad at chases as a Survivor. But the question is; how can I improve or practice? There are no BOT games against killers. Sometimes I go into a match with the intention of "getting better at chases" and use Perks like MFT, Troubleshooter, Windows of opportunity.. just to get better at it and trying to learn about maps. But if I get matched to killers who are just way better than me, downing me in 20-30 seconds, there is not much learning for me. It's hard to improve. Also feeling sorry for mates in my team who are better at chases and got matched with a member like me who is below average. I honestly admit, that I am the reason "things go down fast at the beginning", if I run into the killer in early game.
That Bill is something can laugh about. Seeing things like that happen often, as well. At least I can say I am not THAT stupid anymore. Sometimes when I crouch at pallets when downed, somebody is close by, trying to heal me, killer comes for us.. guess what happens? Both surv are down 99% of the time. I would try to hide and wait to give killer the pallet when he picks me up but it barely happens.
Well, I just wanted to throw in, that "bad Survs" maybe not satisfied with a situation like this as well. I can understand the point of good players being upset about bad team mates. But like... it's not their fault getting matched with good people. Nor do they (or at least me) prefer this. I would love more matches on equal level of killer and all the team mates, instead of getting carried by a "nanny". This would make more room for improvement and getting good as a "baby survivor".
I do what I can. Reading about killer powers or try them myself,(my performance as a Killer is better than Surv, btw), try to assimilate where exactly gens can be so I don't have to search for a long time, and so on.. But the chases themselves? Those are learning by doing, no? Hard to get there.

If I were to post a match with me getting 0 hooks as nurse and my conclusion is nurse is not OP because I am bad at the game it would be dumb, same here, survivors are given the tools to dunk on almost all the killer roster, the fact that people fail to use them does not make those tools any weaker.

I think average chases are ok sometimes you can't avoid going down quickly, main problem is always 1-2 players not touching gens in solo q, it's auto loss against any decent killer

Welcome to SBMM for solo survivors in DbD: you improve your skills, and your teammates stay the same. It's so frustrating. That's often my experience too. Killer stops chasing me and farms my teammates for easy downs. If it actually gives me teammates around my skill level, it's enjoyable and I escape more than half the time.

Where are these survivors when I play killer?
On the topic: I'm not sure what BHVR could do about this. Maybe some adjustments to matchmaking would help but since you're most likely going to die with bad team mates it's kind of hard to increase your own MMR and get out of that hell hole that is also called "low MMR solo queue".

Despite the game's questionable matchmaking you can rise to an mmr range where you are more often than not matched with and against decent players. It requires a lot more skill and patience to do this as a solo survivor than it does as a Swf or when playing killer but it can be done.
those "killer mains" are just playing Killer at a higher mmr range than OP is playing survivor.

That is only true when you are in a SWF squad. If you are SoloQ, it would only count your escape, hatch, or death for your MMR rating.
So, if you can't build MMR while SoloQueuing, it's on you.
Wish granted. Just try to not let any potatoes in your squad when you are in SWF and you are good.

Maybe they are not here because what is being talked in this post has nothing to do with the balance of the game, but the average skill of survivors.
In fact, one can argue that it's precisely what is being discussed here the main reason so many survivors thinks that "Killers are OP" or "They do X almost every game", as they doesn't seem to realize or acknowledge what him and their fellow survivors teammates are doing and focus on what the killer did.
Someone unhooked you 5 meters from the killer, you use your precious free BT to do a protection hit and the killer goes after you instead of the other survivor? The killer is doing bad here of course. He is tunneling. It's not that my teammate should have not unhooked me yet and I should have get the hell out of there instead of getting hit. It's all killer's fault.
Or if you want another example, those survivors that still haven't learn that predropping pallets and getting stuck in the animation of doing so against a killer that phases through walls is not the best way to deal with her. But nonetheless, the problem is that the killer is OP, not that I don't know how to loop her properly.
In other words: Game balance have nothing to do with you suffering the consequences of your mistakes and those of your teammates, even if some people thinks otherwise.

Personally, I don’t see killers advocate for solo queue improvements. What I have seen was that many, many killers (including forum regs whom I would say are veteran killers) pushed against the HUD and basekit BT updates—and those are more valuable to solo queue than SWF. Some of them still bring those features up as a gotcha to imply they’re an insurmountable advantage for solo queue survivors.

I think it’s more than just ‘bad’ teammates. Solo queue survivors are generally unskilled, unintuitive, and often play with their own agendas (tome challenges, earning bloodpoints, memeing/trolling, etc) but you can always play for yourself. Any survivor can. You don’t necessarily need a team to escape a trial; you can do it yourself with the right strategy. If you want reliable coordination, forming a SWF is best.

My teammates are a coin flip in solo queue from day to day. I don't consistently get teammates from one extreme or the other. Somedays my teammates are ridiculous and on other days the games are over at five gens. Today I went 6-3 in solo queue. Great teammates in most games. Yesterday it was dreadful with the teammates you described. I try to take chase in solo queue when possible. The killer will often leave when they realize I am competent but it does buy a bit of time.

Is there any official source for the claims on team-based MMR only being applied to SWF?
I read the original articles/news on team-based MMR from BHVR and I didn't read anything about this being specific to SWF. Rather, they say they want to encourage teamplay rather than selfish play. I doubt there needs to be any encouragement for teamplay in an SWF.
Also, the whole reason this was implemented is that some people complained that they looped the killer for five gens, got facecamped and were the only one who lost MMR though they did single-handedly win the game for their team. This is absolutely not an SWF-specific problem. Most likely the people who complained were not even SWF players, I doubt I would care about my MMR dropping if I was with reliable SWF friends.
I would really like to know if it is an SWF-specific thing. The wiki is an "official wiki" but I'm not sure this means that every word is signed off by the devs as being true.

Bots are quite decent in many situations. They "cheat" in mind games because they always know where the killer is.
I've played mostly killer these past weeks and I must say that there is almost always a weak link in the team that goes down in record time. He is the fifth killer perk as far as I'm concerned.
Sometimes the weak-link rage-quits immediately which increases substantially the team's chance of survival.
(And sometimes of course the team is quite strong and kicks my backside properly. Usually an SWF of 4. Maybe once in a blue moon they are very experienced solos.)

It's a coin flip really. Some days the survivors are OP and dunk on us all day with zero skill necessary. Other days we get to harvest free potatoes all day.
I have found that the high prestige survivors are the potatoes. High P survivors always play terrible and get killed easily.
Especially if you solo queue and you see three high P survivors pop up together in your lobby.
Especially if it's a 50, a 75, and a 100.
Seeing a solo high P means they're going to die first. Seeing three high P's together means they're a troll squad who is only there to make solo Q's suffer.
A team of three high P survivors always screws around near the killer and gets themselves downed right away, then leads the killer to you, then leaves you on the hook forever, then if you try to ######### they always get the unhook at the last second to force you to stay longer.
If I'm solo queuing survivor, I always dodge when I see high P's on my team because I know they're going to let me down.

In the last couple of days, I have met two second prestige killers, one third prestige killer, one seventy-seventh prestige killer (it was Huntress and it was awesome), and the rest have been zero prestige. Guess how many pigs? Zero. I got so desperate I booped a Blight. MMR hell is withholding my bacon sandwiches.

Here's the problem. You can build MMR in solo queue, but your MMR straight up does not matter in solo queue in terms of what teammates you get. You can be in the 1800-1900 range and you will still get absolute potato teammates. And I'm not going to get banned to prove it, but it doesn't matter.

Almost 2 gens done (including 1 completely fixed) BEFORE the 1st hook is NOT the typical solo queue experience; you were very lucky in this game!

I'm being serious. Against some killers they are better than your typical solo-queue.
They tend to perfectly dodge projectiles. And they are always at the furthest point from the killer on a tile, even without line of sight (because they know where he is). That makes mind-gaming them a chore.
They go for unhooks and heal their teammates.
Tell me it's not better than so many solo queue survivors?

This is why we need to know the MMR rating of everybody. Because I'm not the best survivor there is, but sometimes it really surprises me the low game sense most survivors I get matched have. Not even skill, just game sense, knowing what to do and how to do it even if you fail at it. And I would say it is because maybe I have low MMR so I'm are in the "noob potato" bracket, but I'm talking about people with 50, 60 and even 100 prestiges.
The other day I had a match where I was hooked near the shack, the Doctor chasing another survivor and a third one doing gens, and I had to see how a survivor run to the basement, take a lot of time to snap out of Madness... and then proceeded to open a create before coming to unhook me while I got the phase two of the hook. Like, really? Hundreds of hours played and you decided that it was the perfect time to open a create?
And this is just one example of the many I have lived while playing SoloQ. It's insane how low the average level of skill and game sense of survivors is.

They get stuck on objects, they routinely glitch, they will not finish heals if they detect a terror radius, will blow gens for the same reason, and cannot loop.
