Best survivor build for the next patch?
I'm thinking it will be MFT/WoO/DS/DH.
DS will probably see a rise in popularity with the basekit unhook feature and game moving towards an easier time 'guaranteeing' 3 hooks per survivor.
Less confident people will probably use a different compatible exhaustion perk or Resilience, but I think the first one is what I'll see on my higher killers.
What do YOU think?

decisive is pretty weak, why would it be meta?

I don't think DS will be popular again.
I just revisited this perk and played with it for a while. And it was enough to remember why i don't use this perk anymore.
MfT and WoO are already meta perks. So they will stay as they are.
Reassurance can rise maybe ( i still doubt it will be meta tho ) because if killer is camping , you can make them even lose longer time and you can give more time to hooked survivor if killer is waiting a bit out of range.
Off the Record maybe can be finally meta perk. BHVR wanted make this perk meta but it failed. But now with anti-camp mechanic, i think Off the Record will be strong option to bring.
And for last perk, Adrenaline. It's already meta because survivors are not healing and doing gens instead of it.
So i am putting my money on: MfT + Adrenaline + Off the Record + WoO/Reassurance

The meta won't change much if at all.

I just have a feeling ;3

I'm not changing my build at all. Face-camping is uncommon in my games so I don't anticipate much difference post-update.
4 -
Face-camp is not common but it happens. This Bubba is enjoying his last camping days
And Deliverance curse is real , i'd stop facecamping if i was not first hooked.
0 -
Yeah it definitely still happens but so few games for me that it's never bothered me. I had a Bubba do it on Midwich a few days ago with Insidious. I managed to hook trade and save the first person, and the team could have gotten all gens done and escaped if they just let me hang but they all tried too hard to save me. I wish they just did gens but that's solo queue for you.
BTW what region do you play in? I've played a couple times with someone called Jill Enjoyer

EU servers

Camping won't really go away, it'll just move to be more proxy camping and tunneling. There was a discussion recently on the places to stand on some maps where you won't trigger the AFC mechanic but still be close enough to swoop in for an off the hook hit to get endurance out of the way or hit the unhooking survivor.
Plus Bubba, the king of the facecamp, will be one of the few killers still able to get away with it with only a slight downside. It's like whenever BHVR releases new perks and other mechanic changes that effect everyone except Nurse/Blight/SWF.
Same stuff as always. Treating a symptom with a band-aid rather than the problem.

Wait...
Nothing changed???

OTR was a meta perk for quite some while when the change to it was made? So how exactly did they fail to make it meta? After that people used it less for some reason despite it being a really good perk.

It is not meta perk, i am hardly seeing this perk in trials. It was not even in stats when BHVR shared last time.
Pig did not nerfed this time, so i will take this as change

I’ll still be using the same build I’ve had since day 1
soul guard, unbreakable , tenacity and flip flop (and yes I’ve always been using this build except that I had prove thyself instead of flip flop before they removed the bloodpoints bonus)
0 -
It got changed over a year ago and it was used rather often for the first few months back then, I would say it was meta...
0 -
It was even called the "endurance meta" when the perks got reworked in 6.1.0, it was definitely meta back then, it just shifted again.

I think there will be categories "Looper / Gen-Fixer / Stealth / Sabo" (perhaps more) that will all have their own meta.
MFT+Hope is really strong, +10% move speed is way too OP imo, so i think a lot of people will be using that combo (i really dont think MFT should stack with other speed effects, but it does)
Distortion is always good.
Deja-Vu is always really good (a lot more people should play with this, instead they complain about 3 genning).
0 -
If the killer is effectively protecting his 3 gen from the beginning even that perk won't do too much, you must look at it in total numbers the % increase of deja vu really is not that much.
As for MFT+Hope in endgame, yes it is indeed a struggle, I would say though that if you have reached endgame where hope only activiates you basically already lost, so I don't think it is that much of an issue. But sure, they could make it so hope does not stack with other stuff.

- Breakdown, Distortion, Made For This, Hope
- Breakdown, Distortion, Break Out, Saboteur
- Autodidact, Reactive Healing, Empathy, Solidarity
Breakdown & Distortion is my meta perk, Autodidact build (number 3) is my favorite build for solo.
0 -
I don't think Breakdown is anywhere near meta right?
0 -
"my meta perk" I made my own meta. i think Breakdown is a very strong passive perk, but majority survivor only like "runner-build" like Windows of Opportunity, Made For This, Resilience, Exhaustion Perk, Decisive Strike etc anything that help them keep running.
1 -
MFT/WoO/Resilience/Adrenaline is a popular build because it plays the game for you/is completely passive.
You'll see it a lot if any of your killers are on the cusp of regular - sweaty MMR.
0 -
thats why i say survivor only like "runner-build"

I'm not going to change my build. I like my MFT, DH, Resilience and Distortion build. Distortion i can change to we'll make or adrealine once in a while. I started using distortion mostly due to nurses and selfish teammates. In EU servers matches are pretty much nurse nurse blight blight wesker. some random killer here back to nurse. I'm not selfish distortioner though i take chase and hooks if needed :)
Seen alot of selfish teammates that hide behind perks lately too, wont even save from the hook.
When MFT gets nerfed i'll switch back to my old main build which is Lithe, Adrealine, We'll make it and Off The Record.

I think the word implies a general consensus, so that's not really you yourself can make ^^ But whatever dude...

I use Overcome, which also requires no brain, haha

Yes, I know, sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone

Why would someone be offended by that? XD

okay

I think DS is #########. It gives you very less distance, if you dont get dopped next to a loop its basicly useless.
But dont misunderstand me i like that the perk is not good and is not getting played very often.
0 -
I wonder if people will pocket Unbreakable in case Lord Slug appears?
0 -
MFT, DH and WOO are already popular. I see MFT and DH in most of my matches.
DS might rise in pick rate a little but i don't think it will be very popular overall. To get value out of DS you need some map awareness and looping skill. If you get downed in a dead zone or can't loop then DS won't really help much. And if you don't get hard tunneled the perk is mostly useless. Not the most enticing perk to equip.
Its not all bad tough. If you fall in a good spot (in a a Pallet/Vault) and are ready to use an exhaustion perk to get to a good loop you do get some safety from DS (It also gives time for team mates to try and help).
You can waste a decent amount of time from the killer by doing this. DS is honestly pretty underrated when used correctly. Not a top tier perk but not weak either.

People tend to use peaks that make up for weaknesses or shortcomings. Most people struggle in chase and want to buy time for their team, so I'm not surprised most pick perks to help with that.

Windows, MFT/Exhaustion perk, Resilience/Distortion/OTR, Calm Spirit
With AFC coming up soon, players who aren’t using Killers capable of 12 hook games consistently will either play:
1) Hit and Run
2) Proxy Camp
3) Snowball chain reaction with slugging and information perks
The counters against Hit and Run will either consist of early greeding of resources + healing consistently or forego healing and loop really well when caught doing a gen.
For proxy camp, Killers will eventually figure out how far they need to be from the hook. Ultimate weapon would let them be alerted of anyone being stealthy near the hook and get the proxy down or injure said survivor and scare them away, forcing another healthy survivor to come in for the rescue. Calm Spirit and Distortion prevents this.
For snowball chain reaction via slugging. One popular iteration is STBFL, Rapid Brutality and Infectious Fright. Calm Spirit and Distortion will help to confuse the Killer. As DBD is more of a chase meta than stealth, playing stealth can throw off your average Killer especially when they rely on information perks.

As a former killer main, i have often won the game when we were at the endgame. - So no the game is defently not lost at that point, also the killer can have - no way out / blood warden / NOED that activates at that point. 1 hook is often enough to get the ball rolling.
Regarding Deja Vu, its not for the repair bonus, but that it highlights the 3 gens closest to each other, even with the killer protecting 3 gens, i manage to get them seperated 90% of the time, (but yeah it takes longer). So if thats a problem, its most likely on you or your team.
0 -
If you manage to seperate 3 Gen that the killer was holding then it is his failure basically, because if he knows what he is doing that does not happen.
It is still basically over... If they go to two seperate gates and open them you basically lost, if they just stealth and wait out no way out and then pressure both at the same time then once again you will basically loose... You more or less cannot find stealthing survivors when they have nothing to do but wait currently... I m not saying you cannot get one more kill or so, but in the end the gates will be opened and people will leave, making it a killers loss...

Just make preasure on more than 1 gen at a time. base repair speed is 1 c/s. (solo) 1.7c/s (two survivors) 2.1c/s (three survivors)
When the killer kicks a gen it loose 2,5 c/s from the kick, and it regresses with 0.25 c/s
So unless the killer is standing at the gen, it takes less that 3 seconds to regain what they get from kicking it. (if you are alone on the gen that is)
And if they do camp the gen, do the other gen. Anything more than 3 seconds on the gen is progress (if you are alone on the gen, its shorter if you are more), and if you take travel time into account + the kick animation. its really hard to loose on this.
with the +10% run speed you might be right that the game is lost, but with out, no way...
im not sure how much you have played killer, but i often got 3-4k's after the gates are powered. (i havent really played much killer since the knight release tho, but i doubt it have changed that much since).
0 -
As for the 3 Gen thing, when we for example look at comp the killer will defend this 3 Gen from the beginning and if the other team messes up they have no chance of winning, so if the killer knows what he is doing it is really hard to break...
Yeah, like I said before, if the survivors know what they are doing the game is over at that point, but since matchmaking is garbage and most players have no clue what they are doing you might still win, but if they play properly it is just over...

I guess im just good then, and i only have like 200-250 hours as survivor.
- A thing that helps me mark the gens too are blast mine, it have 2 effects for me, 1. it marks the gen for other survivor to see, and from that point its about 50% that someone comes to help me do it, but it also waste some killer time with the blast. And its fun to use. (for me).
