Can hook grabs return now that the anti-camp system is here
You read the title, the new anti-camp system (which i think is good) is releasing live in a few days. But i was wondering why hook grabs are still gone then, it was basically just a bandaid fix, why not bring them back? (Although if you have a counterargument i’ll be happy to hear)

Nah, they can stay gone, anti-camp system or not they were incredibly obnoxious, also anti-camp doesn’t work in endgame so nothing is changing there. Even with the anti-camp system it’s still going to be very possible to proxy camp until you see a survivor coming to rescue and then get closer to the hook when the meter won’t fill as quickly so I don’t think hook grabs should come back. A successful hook grab was far too rewarding for the killer leading to both a hook and (often times) someone on the ground next to them and dying survivors will slow the anti-camp meter still (this is a change they’re making from PTB).

This is because the management decided that the adjustment should be based on survivors with insufficient skills who cannot be rescued even though they do not have a hook grab.
There's no way they'd be satisfied with just AFC, right?

I'd rather keep no hook grabs than have anti facecamp to be honest.

The hook stand-offs were a pain in the arse for me. The change has been for better. If the survivor is healthy, it mostly becomes a trade anyway in those situations. It just happens quicker than both sides staring gormlessly at each other for 30 seconds whilst the hooked just gets bored.
However, I wouldn't have an issue if they brought the grab back if an injured survivor is rescuing. They're going down anyway, so may as well put that back on.

This would be a bad change.
Standing in front of the hook playing arms up arms down...
Was not good game stuff.

why would they bring them back when they want people to not facecamp lol

Let me see if I can put this in terms a killer player will understand:
Camping has been a problem for over 7 years now, and had been around since the game launched. (That's longer than dead hard has existed, and even longer than the time dead hard went unnerfed).
Camping has continued to be a rampant, base kit, issue despite many, many attempts by the devs to give some kind of solution, including:
- Addition of 'rotating hooks'. (Before this the killer could literally body block the only physical location you could unhook from, and guarantee a kill for free)
- Addition of borrowed time as a perk, which became a mandatory perk for survivors for several years or else you'd go down immediately on being unhooked.
- Addition of reassurance as a perk, which was nerfed into uselessness from PTB (press e to cancel should have been the adjustment, not a perk rework).
- Borrowed time added as a base kit feature, finally freeing up a 4th perk slot after several years.
- Hook grabs finally removed
- Now anti face camping mechanic
And the worst part is that even though camping has had all these changes, it's still been a problem.
And you know what the 'correct play' is for the survivor on the hook being camped? It's to hang there as long as possible to give your team time to do gens...
That's right, 'just wait it out'.

Hook grabs are terrible for the person on hook, having to suffer through the 'dance' between team mate and killer (being grabbed and ungrabbed multiple times). I don't miss it.

I hated them you go your hopes up and then they got pulled off hook. I was happy to say goodbye.

Attacks made towards hooks should target the unhooker, and have hits registered skewed towards them, with base kit borrowed there is no reason for the extra iframes to exploit whilst unhooking, if we had that back hook grabs can stay gone imo.
As a killer if i see survivors making reckless or stupid attempts to save, i need some way to punish that behaviour.

If you say you want a counter-argument, can you first elaborate why you think that the removal of Hook Grabs was a bandaid-fix? BHVR never said this and from their communication it looks like they were very sure that this is a feature that has overstayed its welcome.

God forbid survivors ever be punished for bad plays.

Yeah, Killers should be rewarded for the skillful play of...standing in front of the Hook.
8 -
God forbid killers cant get massive value from low effort crap like that

Well...
