Plague not allowed to infect a closed hatch?

I just noticed the plague can't vile purge a closed hatch? Survivor with a key can take some time to open it right? why can't you infect it?

    Guess it couldn't hurt to add that feature. Though I'm pretty sure hatch escapes using keys only happen about once every million matches.
