How's your event going?
Because...

That was 4 of my games yesterday lol. The killer just tunneled me to get more hook energy. Camped nearby to force trades and get more energy. And then at the end eventually slugged me while he went to free the haunts. (I was last alive)

Now come on now... It's the truth.
(nice art as always btw)

That about sums my survivor games up.
10 -
Awwwww. And hims looks so hopeful too...

A mori? That's like throwing the third of the BP income away.
5 -
honestly I don’t like the event, it’s not fun bc I can’t enjoy it.
It’s not fun getting tunneled out at 4-5 gens when I just want to see the event stuff, like every killer is sweating so much I just want to do challenges and look at the event idk what I’m even doing with it. I got so fed up I just went and played friendly killer bc my games were so bad.
I want to enjoy the event but feel like I can’t even enjoy it on survivor side.

I think the bloodpoints are a bit lacking in comparison to past events. Nothing beats double BP events with 5 cakes/party streamers.
8 -
yah thats about the way its going.
Now if you happen to join a game with me. I wont kill you. just get my two hooks and smash gens to do the event. well all leave with 80kBP or more.
5 -
It seems like every other killer is running 3 slowdowns and UW and sweating like it's a money match. It's getting old really fast.
8 -
Just went against a super comp e-sports Huntress that wanted to end the game in 3 minutes. Like gurl does it look like I care about them hatchets I'm tryna get my pumpkins...😭

My games have been pretty good, thankfully. Played 2 killer games but just played for hooks and got my challenges done, then played about 16 survivor games and only had 2 sweaty killers (a Blight and a Pig). 2 escapes, though both killers were chill and playing for hooks as they didn't try kill us or stop us leaving. The rest all got 3/4ks but spread the hooks out, so everyone left with decent bp.
2 -
I wish people here start running that as well, so i don't have to hear "actually UW isn't overpowered".
2 -
Its fine for me. tome is halfway done. I just treat every match like normal and rarely go into the void since its kinda pointless anyways. You get plenty of bloodpoints just by playing the match normally.

i've been playing lots of matches today they were fine i had fun, i only got a sweaty knight (surprise) who tunnelled the meg and camped every survivor after.
0 -
Thankfully haven't had many games like that. Only thing I've noticed is more survivors giving up for no reason (when playing both sides)
Also Dowsing Rods are personal so the killer probably won't be getting 100K+ BP with a Mori.
1 -
Killers can’t enjoy the event either. If killers spend time patrolling the void realm, or spend time trying to do other event stuff, but all the survivors are ignoring the event so they can just repair generators, then the killer is probably going to lose the game.
The only time the killer gets to actually enjoy the event, is 1) if the killer 100% knows someone actually went to the void realm, or 2) the killer tunneled out 2 survivors, and now they finally have enough time to enjoy the event.

I was having fun, but the match making decided to put me with decent team mates and a Killer who just bought the game. Lots of escapes, so I'm back in Tunnelling Wesker MMR again. I know he's only got 7 minutes, but please can we just chill a bit? Maybe let me heal up when I'm just off hook? I'd like a chance to do my tome challenges before I die.
My Killer games have been going OK though. Actually glad offerings are personal for the event, so nobody feels obliged to be "nice" and farm when everyone brings one. I just want to do the fun event stuff and play the game normally.
2 -
Yeah, both sides play, like there is no event and only focus on their normal objective. Only to leave the match with ridiculous low amounts of bloodpoints.
1 -
Do explain what's Overpowered about it? It reveals your location with a scream and most likely the killer will go near either the last one to scream or the one closes to the objective they were already heading to. The blindness could be removed and nobody would notice because it's that bad of a status affliction. It only works vs 2 types of people: Those with never pay attention to their team so they end up unable to find people hooked or people that rely HEAVILY on WOO

UW is a perk that outclasses every other information perk, has no counterplay except Calm Spirit (lol) and it only overpowers already S-Tier mobility killers. Nobody cares if Trapper is running UW but Nurse and Blight mains are turning their brains off, zooming across map with it, slugging everybody. It does too much for least amount of effort. Just open a locker and that's it. Even BBQ which shows you auras 40 meters away for a few seconds requires you to at least hook someone.
9 -
- Using the most weakest perk (Calm spirit) to counter the strongest info perk (UW)
- Deny ~20 survivor perks (aura to be specified)
- Requires the least (open a locker) to get the most (info at close distance, disrupt actions especially totem, deny auras)
I really think UW is the selling point of Alien chapter.

I mean I get that, but like everyone else I’m wanting to complete challenges and stuff I want to see the new stuff and can’t, had a knight tunneling at 4-5 gens, I was just trying to get some of the rift stuff and deposit that for my challenge and what happens? They just interrupt you, idc I die that much just don’t be a shotty player about it. I saw a Jake try and deposit and he just downs him, like if you’re going to kill them atleast let them do what they gotta do for the event, you see they are actively trying to do the void stuff. It was beyond miserable. If I didn’t get tunneled out I got slugged to death
my first game, I wanted to go into the void and see it, I got immediately killed I didn’t even get to look at it before getting killed by a sweaty alien like cmon it’s so stupid

Not great...every match last night was miserable as killer. I try to have fun with the event mechanics only to lose bunch of gens since I was doing side objectives. I still think we need an event playlist just for those who actually want to enjoy the event and not just sweat every single match.
1 -
Ehhhh seems mostly about the same, after playing half the day yesterday. Had one nice Bubba that when I was the last survivor, we went into the event portal together, got some haunts, then they gave me the gate. Then we talked about how we were enjoying the event at end game. There was a few matches where I had the most points despite dying first, and that's because they aren't doing the event I guess. Then there was a few tunnelers and a few campers, per the usual.
I'm enjoying it anyway. Free stuff and new mechanics, yay.
2 -
Trying to quote the Survivor's Handbook doesn't help anyone. "tunneling at 4-5 gens" is a fake rule, meant to shame killers, and is a massive double standard. Where are the rules survivors pledge to follow, that actively lower a survivor's chances of escaping, that are done for the sake of killers?
7 -
Pretty great!
Had Lightborn against 4 survivors with flashlight each and they called me toxic.
4 -
I know I have played 3-4 matches yesterday and today on both sides and I had two normal matches where I got to check out the event the rest I was camped, tunnelled and bodyblocked and tourtered on hook by survivors.

DS, MFT, Dead Hard and Adrenaline
That’s how my games have been. No it’s not what I normally run.

Let’s not pretend it’s one sided. Survivors are rushing their objectives just like killers are. I’ve tried to go into each match with the intent of letting everybody maximize the event, and most of the games survivors just sit on gens and don’t even bother entering the void.
3 -
I am now closing in on SIX years worth of DBD, which is kind of weird to think about honestly.
Anyways, it's always like this. Every event. Every year.
8 -
Yeah and these event offerings don't even stack.
3 -
Unless a killer is already handily winning, they don't really have time to waste visiting the Void and saving ghosts while multiple survivors slam gens. Same issue whenever they add side objectives, if one side ignores them, then the other side is punished for doing them.
Also it feels really bad for survivors who DO want to play around in the Void when the portals activate while you're on hook.

I saw buckle+FTP yesterday on my first deathslinger game.
But he gets a candy coated rifle, so its okay.
😀
1 -
The singular candy coated weapon I wanted is locked behind a auric cells purchase.
And I already bought auric cells in anticipation for the event.
Really hoping BHVR realizes that locking Hag & Clown's weapons behind something that's not apart of the event is a bad idea.
😔🙏

After some more games as both sides, it seems like when I do one thing I win, and when I don't I lose. Open the rift as healthy Surv, and get 1 ghost. If the Killer enters, it is a free win for Surv if they got a ghost, and an instaloss if they didn't. If Surv enters while injured, and Killer is near a portal, enter and get a free down. If you see a portal open as Killer, get 1 ghost, and if there are no Survs (with haste), either get more ghosts to deny, or exit while the speed and stealth are fresh. It feels boring how little skill is involved, and only free wins for either side, so I'm not the biggest fan overall.
It also is strange how Killer gets Haste/Undetectable/Brutal/Unrelenting, but Survivor gets Haste/Endurance/Leader/old BTL. Unrelenting is nowhere in the ballpark of old BTL, and fake Brutal doesn't last long enough to be as useful as fake Leader. Undetectable also doesn't help Killers that already have a source of Undetectable, since they have audio cues to reveal them. So you are better off being a ninja Clown or Wesker with a strong chase potential amplified by the stealth. I had to drop Ghosty entirely for the event in favor of Clown, maybe some Legion later.
The biggest problem is the lack of visual cues that someone is under the effects of a ghost effect. They seriously need to glow blue or something, I don't know how they could have forgotten that most basic design element.

Sorry but the whole thing is quickly annoying, almost 20 days with that gameplay I think I'll pass this time, I know no one cares but I already miss normal game, and special mention for people finishing their event gen/feeding ghosts and letting you die on hook, this is smart event design
2 -
If you do the event as <your role>, you're throwing because 90% of the time, the <other side> isn't doing the event.

I literally just had a game like that lol was on hook and a Dwight hopped on the gen right next to my hook (first hook) and literally did the whole thing. He finally unhooked me when I was a split second from being sacrificed. So when he was hooked, you know what I did? Sat on a gen lol he ended up letting go. The killer also ignored me after I got unhooked and let me leave after killing the others, so I guess they noticed what happened.
2 -
I put out my Stbfl-only - pig and play for 12 hooks.
I lose a majority of games, but we all have fun.
No tunneling or camping from this killer player here
2 -
I just remember the first snowman event and how awful the forum was.
2 -
That's the reason why I don't use cake anymore on survivor
2 -
Just gerrung Wraith, playing how Wraiths usually do.

When i was playing in low MMR with my friend matches were ok. We all got a lot of BP. After he left and I was in my own MMR, holy sweat fest batman.
First match was against a p100 nurse playing like their life was on the line, followed by a p100 blight that was doing the same, and every other match was like that. That's a yikes from me.

The void realm look marvelous and all the new game mechanics are pretty fun to interact with. I don't think nothing will ever top the 7 year anniversary event but this event been pretty cool so far. Yeah players are sweating... but that just a normal day on dbd.

I get nice reactions from the people i kill...

It's amazing how you can get 5 event offerings and each time the match is over in under <6 minutes. How does that happen?
You would think that many offerings means everyone is tryna eat, but what it really means is good ######### luck getting over 10k.

I can't even MFT my way to 10k to save my life, and that's supposed to be like the most greatest brokenest God-tier perk eva coded and put in the game.

Pretty much this. If I play chill as an M1 killer trying to enjoy the event, the survivors slam gens.
I even had a full SWF all running power struggle + plot twist + background player and intentionally going down at pallets to make pickups impossible. The only way I could have possibly won that game on the killer I was playing would've been to slug them all twice. And while other SWFs may not be that egregious, others are still definitely playing to intentionally make the killer miserable more often than not.
So now I'm just playing Nurse. I can be chill without handing the whole game to the survivors, and can tailor my intensity of play to meet whatever intensity is given to me. If the survivors are being cool then I can be cool, too. If they aren't, then at least I have options... and I can actually afford to do event stuff in the Void without throwing.

I gotta say this event blows chunks. It's probably not even the event, just the way people are playing this event.

Last 3 survivor games were AFK teammate, teammate with 15k points with a dowsing rod, and another AFK teammate. Been great.
