Dev, You Not Gonna Put WinRate in PlayerCard, Right?
also can you promise no Leaderboard in the future?
Please spare some space for us : Casual Gamer
Please stop bringing dbd more and more in a competitive direction

I imagine the player profiles will be similar to mobile where you see the latest few game stats like map, escape and which survivor. And yes there are escape/kill rates in mobile. They also have an icon you get depending on which grade you finished last if I remember correctly.
But maybe there will be an option to make this profile private or only make certain stuff visible to others, like you can do it with your steam profile.

If it's like you describe, that's what I'm afraid of. it will encourage players to be more competitive, every match vs stronger build, every match burning their stronger map offering, every match going againts Nurse-Blight or Strong SWF team just to keep their Win-Rate at the top.

Players being competitive in a PvP game? The horror!!! That has never happened before in any other game!...

You are probably one of the very few who doesn’t want stats. The majority would probably love a leaderboard / stat keeping system.

Personally I would like to see my own escape/kill rate.

May I encourage you to try any other number of Fighting Games, FPS, RTS, MOBAs, MMOs, or any other type of game that has a ranked ladder and actually presents... any reward at all... for being good at it.
DBD is good because you *can* sweat, but it doesn't market itself as an e-sport. Putting stats like win/kill rate would feel like DBD is trying to put itself in the same league as, like, Apex Legends.

I would too, but I would not necessarily want others (outside of friends) to see it because I get judged enough when my P100 6.6k hrs Jeff (or Wesker) does not meet their expectations.
I hope that you can choose what is shown like on Steam.

This already happens, so it wouldn't change anything

So many of you must be love SBMM, but i wonder why dev change SBMM if so many player like it...
Why a lot of streamer don't having fun when the game forced them to "try hard" every match.
Escape Rate for Survivor? What will happen is player priority their escape rate, bullshit with helping teammate after all gen done.
Kill Rate for Killer? More and more tunneling just to secure their kill rate.
You all want game like that? Really?

So... it would be putting itself in the same league as any other PvP game out there? Preposterous!...
All of those things already happen in the game, including most of the people using the stronger build available for them to win. You know why? Because you can't prevent people to play competitively in a PvP game, no matter the nature of it. The perfect example of this is Super Smash Brothers, a game that started strictly as a party game, but at the end they added a ranked mode as most of the people that played it in a daily basis were the ones doing 1v1 with no items instead of the default 4 player party mode. Hell, competitive Tetris is a thing, for the Entity's sake.
In fact, DbD already is a ranked game and only have a ranked game list (when most games have two, a ranked and unranked one) and most people already play it to win. The only difference with other PvP games is that our rank is hidden to us for some unknown reason.

Bro those are terrible ideas

those who do not play to win will continue to play not to win, those who play to win will continue to play to win. Nothing will change and it will not get worse, I doubt that most of the players will somehow change their style of play when they get the opportunity to see how good or bad they are in the game. After they do, nothing will change, at least globally...you're being too dramatic

That's not entirely true. It's a known fact that people's behavior changes depending on whether or not they're able to observed and graded.
The entire reason to have leaderboards and stat tracking is to assess the level of perceived skill between yourself and others. So people will change their approach to the game and if the reward is based on achieving a certain level rather than just completing challenges then people that get motivated by that sort of thing will act on that motivation.
The OP's concern is valid if a bit hyperbolic. Player cards are nice if they are designed well, but it would be great if they were flair only and that were obtainable by everyone through actions that didn't necessarily drive folks to be hyper competitive. Stuff that unlocks after playing X amount of games, doing gens, healing, or using your power. If there is a particularly fancy looking player card just make it something you can get for a few shards. People who want to like really get into collecting the cards will while not necessarily being incentivized to play every game competitively.

I agree, the game is full of RNG. RNG tiles, RNG Maps, "RNG" opponents(you don't know what they have) and etc.
This game have no inviroment for competetive things like Kill/escape rates. People already sweating, we don't another reason for people to be toxic.

there are plenty of PVP games that also don't have those features
a lot of the charm of DBD for a lot of people is that it tries to reject being one of the stat-tracking, ladder-climb-encouraging sweatfest games. DBD is not apex legends, it's not starcraft, it's not dota 2

As there are plenty, what other multiplayer PvP game with a ranked system doesn't show you rank?
And the only truth is that DbD is already one of the stat-tracking, ladder-climb-encouraging "sweatfest" games, like any other PvP game. The only difference is that all those stats and rankings are hidden from us, and that this community is the only one where it is acceptable to say that people should not play optimally as "they make the game not fun". Not only that, but it is also accepted as an argument to ask for balancing changes and mechanics to force other people to play how they want them to play so they can
win"have their fun".In other words, those people that sees that "charm in DbD" you mentioned are the same ones that instead of learning the game and adapting to it, they want the game to adapt to their "casualness" (to put it lightly) and if not, then the game is becoming boring as they can't win however they want.

Public stats and leaderboards are always a terrible idea. Brings out the worst in a community and strongly increases the amount of cheating, plus the top leaderboards are almost always exploiters/cheaters.
