Why exactly are illusions from Doctor static?
Why can't they just you know move? Making them idly look at you for a second won't do anything. Why can't survivors have a odd screen effect with Doctors appearing and disappearing in thin air?

Doctor's illusions are pointless, even if they move they won't have effect on good survivors.

I'd also like to know why the doctor sees them himself. I hate that. Very distracting for me as doctor when they're supposed to distract the survivors.

Are you serious? It means a Survivor is close by? I only play doctor when his daily ritual comes up but I really didn't know it was an indication of anything.

Yes. The Illusion is looking at a Survivor. So when you see an Illusion in the distance next to a Gen, it is quite likely that a Survivor is sitting on that Gen.

Yeah, that is really the use behind the illusions - to give you info on survivor positions. Keep in mind though that they don't really function vertically. If the survivor is on a 2nd floor, the illusion can appear on the 1st floor below them. You can usually figure it out though if there is a gen nearby.

They actually work a bit like an aura reading (unless bugged) doctor can see the location of survivors with the active illusions.

they're a way of tracking survivors that bypasses both calm spirit and perks that block aura reading - that's why you can see their auras.

They only do a bit on their own but there's an add-on line that gives them auras and make them pretty solid tracking tools. Doc's power in general had a very cool "specialize your power the way you want it" add-on design that I'm still a big fan of as a concept.

If you stacked 2 restraint they appeared more often. They countered sneaky plays.

An effect like this might add the ilusion that the doctor is actually chasing the survivor, which would lead to a problem. Solo Survivors would be effected, but not SWF (they can just communitcate).
So the gap between SWF and Solo would become even bigger.
