Worst and Best Licensed Killer Adaptations?

I am not asking by strength-wise. I am asking which killer is most loyal to original material and which one is not.

I go first.

Best - Michael Myers

Worst - Freddy Krueger

Worst: Freddy & Nemesis. Freddy's puddle looks stupid and I disappointed that the Nemesis not having Rocket Launcher.

Best: Maybe Myers. I think his power followed his behaviors in the movie quite well.

I agree with you on Nemesis. He's a shell of his former self. I'd say Michael is the best interpretation they've done though. Everything about him works perfectly. Pinhead on the other hand shouldn't pick up and carry Survivors. He would never do that. He especially wouldn't put effort into it, sullying his hands by lifting a mere mortal over his shoulder and carrying them... xD When I saw that I was like...."What?.."

Pinhead has never and would never physically carry someone. He would use smaller hooks to drag them to the bigger hooks or just port them there like he does in his Mori, which is what he should've done. It would've been similar to the Pyramid Head cage mechanic. Pinhead picking up Survivors always makes me laugh as its completely against any lore we've seen with our eyes. Even in the comics nothing like that happens.

Michael takes it for me. Just seeing him "standing there......MENACINGLY!!!!!", is enough to creep anybody out.

Best - Mikey. They really did manage to capture the feeling of being Michael Myers. His add ons let you play so many different flavors of Mikey, much like in the Halloween movies. You can be the stalking before striking at your victims with the various stalk add ons, the sneaky stealthy Myers with the mirror builds, the brutally aggressive Myers with tombstone etc. Plus you have that classic John Carpenter theme playing when you get in chase, really completing that feeling of being the boogeyman.

Worst - Freddy. Nothing about him captures what Freddy is in the movies. It also doesn't help its not the classic OG Robert Englund Freddy.

The remake one. In fact, in case you haven't noticed yet, the Freddy we have in DBD purely is the reboot one only. There's a scene in the movie in a hallway that loosely resembles Dream Snares.

Some people really love the smell of their own farts. It IS debatable. While I do agree that I think Freddy is the worst, I see a few cases for Nemesis and Pinhead and if Freddy wasn't in the game, I'd absolutely pick Pinhead. Nothing he does is accurate to his lore either.

The best is probably Bubba, he's a dude with a chainsaw, it's not that hard to make an accurate adaptation of him. He swings the chainsaw like he does in the movies, he throws tantrums like he does in the movies, 10/10 adaptation.

The worst is Freddy, there's so many unique things they could do with him, yet they decide to give him dream snares and dream pallets. Really lame.

No, I didn't agree that it isn't debatable. You clearly stopped reading after I agreed that I also think Freddy is the worst. If you kept reading or if you comprehended it, you would've seen that I understand the debate for other killers.

    Stop huffing your own brand.

Haven’t played/seen Silent Hill myself but isn’t he also pretty far from his original source?

as in, unlike Freddy, he is still designed well within the game imo and has an interesting power, but not really true to his origins.

also, Sadako is pretty different to her origins, though interesting and the 7 days mechanic at least gets some hinting in her power.

Freddy is unrecognizable AND weak AND boring in the sense that he is pretty much just an M1 killer with a dated and limited teleport.. hopefully they give him a meaningful rework.

Best is imo Leatherface. People say Myers, and I think it’s fitting within the game though it’s not like he stalks people in the movies like that?

I know we have the one from the remake but I only watched that movie while I was doing something else and I don't remember any dream snares in that movie. I might rewatch it to see what you mean.

Still, he doesn't feel like the Freddy from any of the movies. No toying with the survivors, the dream world does very little, the teleport does not make sense because he teleports in the real world too when he only has that ability in the dream world and overall he doesn't feel like he rules the dream world but more like an intruder. It's sad to see him in such a pathetic state.

I see a lot of hate for Freddy. It's justified but to be fair, it would be near impossible to accurately bring Freddy into the game according to the movie lore. Freddy doesn't really have one power. As long as he's in the dream world, he can pretty much do what he wants. How do you realistically do that in DBD? On the other extreme, how do you screw up Leatherface? He's a guy with a chainsaw. The end. I think for the most part that DBD has done a pretty remarkable job bringing in so many different licenses as faithfully as they have within the confines of the DBD system.

Let's consider that the hag is licensed.

Under this hypothesis, she is BY FAR the WORST killer adaptation!

Worst is Freddy. But the runner-up is Pyramid Head. Great chase music but his power just doesn't feel appropriate. Doesn't look good either. It all feels shallow. At least the sound of him swinging his Great Knife is good.

Best, probably Michael Myers or Ghost Face. Though Ghost Face isn't any one from the movies, he still reflects a lot of the personalities that the movies showed off. Michael Myers needs a rework for his power but his presentation is spot-on...except maybe that goofy UAGH noise he does when stunned.

The thing is that Freddy didn’t get anything worthwhile while there is so much potential. Obviously they can’t do it super accurately within the limitations of the game, but the dreamworld isn’t even a threat for survivors, dream snares/pallets seem very minor compared to other killer powers and gen teleports are okay, but for someone that’s supposedly meant to be strong in end game (according to his perks at least) - the synergy is completely off?

On the other hand, leatherface, sure it’s just the chainsaw, but there is also the tantrums and the way he actually uses the chainsaw. If they just made him a Hillbilly Legendary skin for example, that wouldn’t fit that well even though the chainsaw is still there.
