What is the point of having a block feature if it doesn’t work?
we all know how big some peoples egos are and because people get offended so easily by you doing a better job at looping them than they’d expect, you load into a game again with them and they tunnel you and hit you on hook, proxy camp you, rinse and repeat until you’re out of the game… would be nice if the block feature actually worked and stopped me being put into a game with someone who wants to ruin my experience.
i know there’s an “anon mode” but i shouldn’t have to use it if there’s a block option in the game, plus why should i at the expense of someone else’s ego?
if bhvr doesn’t want to make their in game features actually work, we should be able to see the username of the killer before we load into the game so we can avoid this.
just a thought.
(also yes i’m a little salty rn bc i keep getting put into the same game with the same killer(s) who i have quite clearly upset and have no way to avoid, thus wasting my time and making my time in-game miserable, which leads me to disconnect and low and behold - i get stuck with a dc timer… so essentially i’m being punished in my match and i’m being punished for not wanting to play in the match i was originally being punished in - so i’m sure some people can understand where this annoyance is coming from).
anyways…

The block feature only keeps them from being able to communicate with you. I agree that I would love to be able to block certain people from my matches, particularly people who have called me homophobic and misogynistic slurs in endgame chat.
Unfortunately this community is so toxic that if people had the ability to block all the toxic people from their matches the queue times would likely be abysmal, so they won’t do it. Also people would likely block people just because they lost the game to them which would also increase queue times is what I’m thinking.

I remember once i got called racist, sexist and even psychopath cause i "tunneled the black characters" or something like that, like bruh, half the time i dont even pay attention to who the survivors are.
And she was all about how she hates me "tunneling", but she unhooks in front of me, and i went after HER, so her statement of me tunneling that match wasnt even correct and then she calls me racist for going after her, like the level of lunacy you run into in this game is something.

It does precisely what it is designed to do, which is prevent seeing someone's messages/get spammed with in-game friend requests. If it prevented you from matching with blocked players, then you'd get people who block everyone who beat them, or everyone who plays Nurse/Blight, or everyone who wears neon cosmetics, or whatever people decide to block based on. Queues would be a mess.

It's nothing to do with ego.

Block feature is only for communications, unfortunately it shouldn't be used to block people from getting matched with you because people would just abuse the feature to block people who beat them, play killers they don't like or whatever else.
On top of that for survivors you wouldn't be matched with 4 people's block lists, so queues times would end up being very long and you'd just get matched with whoever is available so SBMM would barely exist

There is a block feature for people that are being outright homophobic/racist/… in end game chat: report them properly and they should get banned and be blocked from being matched with anyone

I'd by scared of the survivors seeing my username...
I would have no games because everyone would dodge in fear of the best killer in the game: the almighty Pig.
Jokes aside, in game harassment is annoying but can happen. Everything outside of the match is where it goes into the not-ok - category.

Just go into anon mode and then those killers will never know its you and you can have a normal match. If they give you salt in the chat you can simply just close the chat and never have to read it.

No idea why it is "block" instead of "mute" to be honest.

Those of us on Xbox cannot use this game's Anonymous Mode

I think it would be abused, to block killers people dont like to go against if you could block players from games.

Then another question pop up.
How often does the Block feature have been used since the beginning of DbD? Asking out of sheer curiosity btw! <3

Where did you get this info from? I’ve not heard that anywhere? I reported the person in game and through a support ticket but never heard anything cuz this was before they implemented the report feedback system. But when I looked at the persons profile again they were still able to play the game.
