What would be the most important issue that DBD should get rid of?
There are many problems in this game that should be addressed. For example, the gap between SoloQ & SWF and Strong killer & Weak killer are one of the problems. What would be the biggest problem for you? I think cheaters are the biggest issue. They are really harming the joy of the game.

Why I only see 1 comment while it says there are 2 comments

Obviously me being the only one in high MMR with no competition. It gets lonely up here, looking down upon you peasents.
Jokes aside: Cheaters. The situation is a lot better now than it was before but I'd rather they make sure something like waves of cheaters ddosing streamers and other random players never happens again.

I would say quality / accuracy of matchmaking.
There’s no reason I should still be getting paired with some of the players I get matched with. The skill gap is mind blowing sometimes, on both survivor and killer.
I will challenge you though. The gap between strong and weak killers is not a problem. It’s how it should be. You cannot justify a killer such as trapper, wraith, pig, or Freddy… being as strong as blight, nurse, or wesker, simply because of mechanical skill floors/ceilings.

Well I’m in TOP MMR. Imagine only being in high mmr… that’s so last year.

The fact I can’t see Jonesy when I have an item equipped in the lobby. Outrageous!
Maybe a comment was deleted.
otherwise… the forums are kinda buggy so 🤷♂️

Tunneling should be adressed.
With that i mean off the hook obvs.
12 -
Nah, top MMR wasn't humble enough for me. But what else can you expect from someone, who loves Hug Techs? You sweaty, filthy comp player, you.
0 -
Don’t tell anybody… but I check profiles in pre lobby and tunnel out the lowest hour survivor.. 👀
2 -
"THIS IS WHAT A TOP 5% (INSERT KILLER) LOOKS LIKE". Source: made it up. Unless they managed to see their MMR while playing on console. I'd be impressed.

Real comp player right here ...
But im certain that the caliber of surivors your going against makes these steps absolutely necessary. Multible digits at least, am i right?

I agree that matchmaking is a big issue. I also get your point about the gap between strong killers and weak killers, but I think it should be less than now. It is way too wide right now.

Probably tunneling.
I don't think anyone would really dispute that the game would be better if Killers couldn't/didn't need to tunnel to win, depending on how you view it.

This.
Thankfully they are actually reworking maps as we speak. They finally shrank mother's dwelling after like 6 years of it being so absurdly large. If they keep up with this, then the game will be in a great spot.

What would be the proper way to solve tunneling issue?
1 -
Bring back ranks. If you wanna sweat, reach the purple and reds, if you take a long break, don't feel confident or want to play casually, you can stay at the brown and yellows.
Never once paid interest to grades, awful system.

It's a tough problem to solve. The current counterplay is macro-based, which just doesn't work in a game that doesn't have competitive matchmaking or communication. There's almost always one player running after the killer for whatever reason instead of using the time effectively to crank gens, and the person being tunneled usually doesn't belong in that game in the first place, so they go down in 10 seconds.
There's just no real downside to tunneling early. Only upside. And survivors get nothing for doing the correct thing. Your best case scenario is usually a 3v1 at 2 remaining gens. 1 remaining gen if you're lucky. That's hard to lose as a killer either way. And unless the killer is really bad relative to the person they were tunneling, the survivors get a choice between a 4k and a 3k hatch escape.
3 -
It would have to be done in such a way that it doesn't impede the ability to punish poorly timed unhooks, which is probably not possible.

There is fine to be gap but it's not fine to be that big ofcourse wraith should not be S tier but he should be very strong B. I think S tier killers should not exist and nerfed to A tier then the game can be balanced properly. Now if we make gens 120s blight would win every game whereas pig would still lose.
I think the game should be balanced more importantly around console players. Add assists and more settings to make experience better. I think overwatch 2 gives console players advantages facing pc players. Very least keyboard and mouse support should be added.

Proxying, which is often the correct/efficient choice, aggravates this issue.

Maps.
Followed closely by 🎮🎮

Smaller yes, which is great, but added in lots of low clutter and los blockers. Makes many of the more mobile killers get snagged on innocent looking debris and bushes etc.

What??
When RBMM was still a thing I hit red ranks with both roles pretty much all the time while being casual/lower skilled…

Even tru talent admits the map is way smaller than before, I personally dont even care if the god window is kept; this map being finally normal sized will give me so much relief "I can pressure people again".

If survivors play propelly they should not lose 1 gen remaining in 3vs1. My soloQ mates manage that but they are worst kind of players you see. One goes AFK in corner, one dies at 90% worked gen in under 10s and one player tries to play right but you can't win 1vs1 when 2 players sabotage you. On other hand with my swf we have won 3vs1 games 5 gens remaining. Our solo has dc:t or suicided or got tunneled early.
1 -
The difference in strength of different killers. It's impossible to balance killers against survivors when you have Trapper and Myers in the same role as Nurse and Blight. The difference in strength between solo queue and SWF is also a concern for similar reasons.
Tunnelling is also smething I believe should be dealt with but you'd need to buff the killer role significantly if you ever wanted to outright remove tunnelling from the game.
2 -
It would be difficult and would likely require multiple sweeping changes.
2 -
A Killer should not be losing a 3v1 at 5 gens unless the matchmaker royally screwed up.
3 -
Mid tier/casual balance focus.
If they want natural mistakes to play a part in how players perform, balance for peak play and see where the players settle.

The matchmaking has always been the biggest issue. You get sweaty killers who hard tunnel every match being put into games with casual teams. It's ridiculous and seriously hurts the quality of the matches. I get annoyed watching my solo queue teammates get tunneled out in half of my matches while being powerless to do anything about it. If you want to sweat for the 4K every game then you should expect to play against sweaty survivors exclusively. I don't understand the point of even having an MMR system if it works the way it currently does. Who exactly is benefitting from it? You can break the system even more by lobby shopping for easy matches. All the more reason to completely do away with the lobby. Matchmaking isn't perfect in any game but other games typically make more effort to separate people who play like their life is on the line from everyone else.

For me it's the sheer difference of how a killer's power can fuction on PC/M+K in comparison to a console user's controller.
A good majority of the killer roster is unfriendly to console's in regards to power and what you can achieve vs PC.
- Hag - Teleport hits
- Blight - Rush turning, various techs
- Nurse - Teleports
- Chuck - Slice & Dice turns, Techs
- Wesker - Dashes and Tech.
- Oni - Dashes and flicks
- Singularity - Pod cams
- Hillbilly - Flicks
- Nem - Whip drags
- Xeno - Tail drags
- PinHead - Chains
- Huntress - Accuracy sensitivity
- Deathslinger - Accuracy sensitivity
That's 13 killer's out of 34.
I think in future they need to refine future killer power's and make it more usuable like the 21 other killer's.

I feel map offerings would be a surprisingly uncontroversial thing to axe. Doesn't solve the issue of maps that are just questionable in general or problematic when combined with certain loadouts/perks/killers/whatever, but at least it makes it so people can't try to force matches to maps like that.

Nintendo Switch players being stuck on a console in which the game looks and performs like a Nintendo 64 game.
4 -
It's possible, but I'm assuming the killer is good and doesn't hook like a bot in that situation. By the time the survivors finish the last gen and get a gate, that should be a 3k minimum.

NURSE , MAPS .

why not? the harder killer can still be better than weaker killers but there is should not be a massive divide between them.
1 -
I would like to know the meaning by hooking like a bot?
0 -
For Survivor, hard tunnelling at five gens / tunnelling off hook. Unless there's 2 gens left, there should be no rewards for Killers to play this way. Just let people play the game they queued up for.
No real solution seems to be in sight and the game is 7 years old now, so good luck with that I guess.
On Killer side (actually both sides, really), I guess I would say Survivors who give up early instead of eating the DC penalty and spawning a bot. Adding bots but keeping the harsh DC penalties have had some unintended consequences.
Again, I don't know how to solve this problem without certain Killers having to face full bot lobbies on the regular.

Because the mechanical input/skill requirement is massive.

hackers and bugs.
gameplay/balance wise i'd say map offerings first then reworking all the problematic maps and then bloodlust.
1 -
Matchmaking is the biggest problem and step 1 to fix it is to get rid of the lobby, you ready up and load into a match no more lobby shopping.
Cheaters/Hackers number 2 and then those people who feel the need to win the game in 2 mins flat against solo que 3rd...
1 -
Devs should remove (full rework would be not enough 🤓) both the stupid hag & dull merchant killers!

Personally I believe the problem lies in too much information for both sides, destroying the challenge and the horror element of the game? I feel the game is balanced enough for both sides which is proven when comp teams enter the game?
I don't think solo que needs more buffs that makes comp teams OP ? If solo que simply work together they stand the same chances as swf to win?You cannot force people to play better or play how you want,my suggestion for that case scenario is simply rotate lockers until the are sacrificed then make your escape and run Ace in the Hole if you did not bring a key or stock up on keys ? EZ peasy : l
The fact that every movement is known by both sides really effects the outcome, when DBD was meant to be random chaos, which makes this game fun because no match and people are the same.Cheaters will cheat but that doesn't mean this killer needs a buff or that perk needs a Nerf? Also something doesn't need a nerf because you've been outplayed
Chucky is considered strong but I've seen a "content creator" dust a Chucky by understanding how he works
I do think casual mode should be a thing
"WARNING"!!!!
Casual mode will not stop someone for wanting to play sweat games
Example: Rainbow Six Siege/PUBG has casual mode and there are people who clearly belong in rank games who just want to destroy casual players 🫤
1 -
I just mean picking up and hooking in a 3v1 situation that allows the last two survivors to finish the final gen. You usually don't have time to hook and also defend a gen if they're doubling it.
1 -
i started around the release of nemesis and thought that was an older feature of the game after it's gone lmao. it came back during wesker chapter and then i realized it had to be something about RE.
2 -
Terrible matchmaking system

The game having no comeback mechanic. I get that some peeps hate the idea of the other side "getting rewarded for losing ", but right now very, very few games are balanced and always on the edge. Most of the time one side gets an early leg off and then its win more and stomp.
Of the game could somehow determine which side was doing better and somehow compensate, like blocking gens, eating pallets, closing vaults in chase or responding pallets, hide one's aura from the killer or spawn a medkit behind the wall one was hiding behind, it would keep a lot of games in the gold locks zone.
0 -
I think I could get behind a comeback mechanic, but not in a way that the game will randomly cuck me in chase because I’m looping efficiently.
It would be a massive turnoff to go down because the game decided to block a pallet or a vault to hand the killer a down to “catch up”. It would drive a lot of people away (prediction of course).
5 -
Not the biggest issue but the most annoying one for me is the instant skill-check when leaving a gen. It should work like Overcharge where you still get a pop-up.
3 -
Game needs to decide if it wants to cater to a competitive or casual mindset and tune the game accordingly. Devs are trying to appeal to the largest possible population to maximize profits. Sure it’s their game and they can get away with it. But there will be no end to the amount of band aids they have to slap on the game constantly.
A lot of questions and problems can be solved relatively easily once devs pick a side.
