Post removed without warning or notification?
At one point I only received like one notification but now I can't view the post at all, it was up for a while to so I'm not sure if it was removed or lost to the aether I don't use the forums much so maybe I just can't find the post anymore

If the post isn't listed in your profile and you haven't been moderated for it, odds are something majorly kicked off in the topic and a mod ended up deleting it.

The forum notifications seem to be bugged at the moment, that's probably the issue.

You don't get notifications for messages being deleted unless the moderator is giving you a warning about what you post. Sometimes when discussions get heated the mods purge a bunch of posts and make a post in the topic telling people to behave

That might explain it, the post had like a bunch of replies but disappeared when I decided to check after I slept. Content wasn't against the rules I just wish I could know what got it eviscerated that's all 😭

You only get notified if the thread/post is deserving of a warning.
For example, leaking upcoming content!

Makes sense, but why would they remove posts, if it's not bad enough to warrant a warning? That's what I struggle to understand here. If they don't tell you, why they removed the post, then how will you know not do that again?
This is directed more towards the mods, who could have the answers, not you personally. Unless you have the secret knowledge too, that is.

Exactly what I was thinking. I've had several of my posts taken down over the years and 2 of them gave me a warning, 1 was a shitpost on a thread I knew was getting taken down due to being highly controversial and had nothing to do with DbD, the second one was theorizing and part of my theory ended up being correct, but apparently that warranted a warning and jail time
Transparency is something that lacks on these forums. Don't know how to avoid doing something wrong if you're not telling us.

There was a thread before about relationships and resident evil. I corrected a post using actual lore and canon. I guess a mod didn't like that because the post was deleted. I didn't say anything wrong, I didn't break TOS at all the post was just gone with no warning, no notification. I just posted facts.

Just jumping in to say, talking about bans is against forum rules as well so beware.
(also the way I got a warning and after I asked for an explanation I got the answer ‚thanks for understanding‘ - even though i still don’t get it at all)

Yup, sounds about right
My post was about Vecna being the next killer and the return of Stranger Things. Using theories like "oh look the halloween event has 4 portals going to the void, and vecna needed 4 kills to get the upside down to come to the real world!", "its stranger things day it would be perfect!", "we can see the halloween event and xenomorph going to a different part of the map, whats to stop them from making the upside down?"
Apparently, thats leaking information. Watch me get banned for this

That is actually a good theory, too bad it isn't the case (yet). I would've liked that a heck of a lot more than ol chuckles.

It wasn't a ban, it was simply jail time. Nothing in the rules that says you can't talk about that.
If I get banned, so be it. Was a wild ride throughout the years

The forum has a spam filter as well. I'm not sure if it works on post count or active time on the forums but editing a post can flag it as spam until one of mods unflags it.

You don't get notification if a thread that contains comments from you gets deleted.
I just came back to the forums and the thread about FNAF fand being annoying was gone for example.
Happens all the time. Comments get deleted because they are in a controversial thread or they are controversial itself but not against the forum rules that you don't get a warning. Had that happen multiple times with indirect passive aggressive comments that weren't straight up insults but also not really nice 😜

I think jail time is pretty much a temporary limited ban and part of the escalation system that can definitely lead to a ban.

They've addressed this before. Sometimes posts don't explicitly break a rule but they're borderline and to be safe the mods will remove it. It's happened to me a few times.
