Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Hawkins Lab Needs Complete Rework Due to Flame Turrets

The hallways on Hawkins are too narrow for flame turrets to be deployed for majority of the map.

This is the situation for majority of it. Standing in the middle of the hallway for both upstairs and downstairs isn't enough space to deploy it. As a result, flame turrets were deployed in low traffic areas or not at all, resulting in the Xenomorph having their ability for most of the match. For sure needs a killswitch.

Hawkins should never have been re-enabled prior to a proper rework. It was made for the game as it was four years ago.

Much has changed since then, and it’s current design is outdated and represents everything people hate about indoor maps.

What is your problem with Hawkins? I really enjoy playing it on both sides.

The turrets aren’t really a counter if you don‘t place them in the right spot, but they slow the alien down.

Hawkins has fewer viable turret locations, but from my experience so far (3 games against Xeno on Hawkins) the places you can place turrets are actually very useful choke points. It may actually be better to be as restrictive as it is, so that your team mates aren't putting turrets in useless spots.

Turrets just need better placement pathing that takes up less space in general to fix this issue. It would be cool to place a turret at a window so it can shoot through it as the killer is coming down the hallway too, this would also stop a survivor vaulting that window.

Hawkins needs a bit of a makeover but turrets need a rework of their own. They're still not worth using at all because they're a pain to place and slow down the survivor too much.

This actually sounds like a big problem. I would rather have both the turret placement box changed and have the map reworked. The map is fun. But not at all balanced, and in some cases against a good SWF it becomes unplayable as killer. Not to mention Billy can still hit the air and doors on that map.

Hawkins is fine for the most part. They just need to make the disallowed placement radius of turrets smaller for Xeno as well as fix a few interactions with some newer killers like Singularity.

Many people just hate indoor maps in general regardless of whether it is balanced or not. This doesn't mean every indoor map is bad though, just different.

Honestly, it's not the Hawkins' fault. The problems with placing down turrets exist on every map. Too restrictive. Similarly to Knight's placement of the guards, too finnicky and restrictive. They both need to be improved in general.
