Old Rift Cosmetics

I have noticed how some BHVR employees have been pretty active on the forums recently, so I thought I would throw my hat in the ring on this once again.

I have made several threads on this topic, with this one being the most popular: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/383893/list-of-every-old-rift-cosmetic-not-added-to-the-store-with-pictures/p1, without any input from the dev side of things directly.

The recent re-release of the Stranger Things, along side the opinions surrounding the re-release from the devs, has given me new hope, so here I am.

Would you guys please reconsider the stance of only bringing back "very rare or above outfits". There are hundreds of old single piece cosmetics and full outfits that myself and others would gladly buy to further customize our survivors and killers. This doesn't even include the Amazon Prime exclusive cosmetics, of which only Haddie's has returned. Right now these outfits are seemingly lost to the void and it is really sad.

And this response to the question of rewarding legacy Stranger Things chapter owners, I feel, should be applied to anything and everything in the game.

The reward to current havers of these cosmetics is having exclusive access to them for YEARS, along side getting them for free with their Rift/Amazon prime subscription. Enough time has passed that I feel they should be purchaseable in the store for all players, a lot of them are simple recolors, there isn't anything special about them aside from their artificial rarity, some of these cosmetics are well over 6 years old.

Thank you for reading.

Also I am not asking for like 2016 legacy to come back, or like Twitch shirts, I am okay with that staying exclusive, I just want everyone to be able to get the all the Rift and Prime skins. Even if it is in something like the 80s suitcase or Charity case, I think they should be there for new players to obtain. Somehow some way.

Prime skins? I'd like those to stay exclusive personally. At least anything that's of the artifact rarity. And that was only a head for Trickster, a knife for Legion, and a charm. So didn't miss much on those (they are cool don't get me wrong). Old rift cosmetics? Sure why not? The plan was always to release those in the store anyway, so IDK why there are some that never made it to the store. I'm 100% with you on that. This excludes deep rift stuff obviously, those will never be in the store as I understand it.

I also agree with what Mandy said about people who owned ST chapter before the boot. Plus it's licensed, they can't really make exclusive skins for those to give a way to some. If they ever did want to give something as far as an exclusive skin for people who owned ST before it left, I wouldn't hate it, but it won't happen for many reasons.

All in all, as far as rift stuff goes, no reason some of those shouldn't have ever made it to the store, but we'll see. They may dedicate some time to look into cosmetics from old rifts that sort of got lost in the shuffle.

Small PS, IDK why some of the prime giveaways were even of artifact rarity to begin with. I thought that was only supposed to be stuff you got from BHVR for either working there, or being a mod on these forums, or for being a fog whisperer. Like the charms those respective roles get. I don't hate they were artifact rarity, I just don't get why is all, yet some prime giveaways weren't. (shrugs)

The only thing with prime skins is that they have already brought one of them back, so the precident is there to bring the rest back, as big or small as they are. I think them not wanting to exclude people from skins is why they switched to BP.

Deep Rift is fine, I would have them come back if BHVR wanted to, but they said from the start that those were exclusive like old legacy so I am okay with those too.

But I basically agree with everything else 100%, like it is sorta misleading to be like "everything in this rift will come back" and then hold on to some for like 6 years. Matieu Cote recently saod on Slasher Radio that they have "never intentionally used FOMO as a tactic" and then said again, "all stuff from the rift comes back eventually" or that a "window will be made" basically for people to get stuff, so I am actually really hopeful for the first time in ages.

    Could be copium though lmao.

I was 99% sure I'd heard the same thing about rift cosmetics coming back eventually, but was never able to cite it. Glad I'm not going insane lol

I heard the theory that some of the unreleased outfits won't be returning because they were taken from the NetEase-owned mobile version, which would make a lot more sense, but I can't cross-reference or check that.

For me personally, it does suck a bit, I'll always be missing that one Frank set from my Legion collection. Especially since the rules on FOMO cosmetics became wonky even before the rift, with most of the earlier ones being given to everyone for free. On the other hand, most if not all of the cosmetics are recolours of sets or pieces still available to everyone. It's not a massive loss, and I'd be happy enough without them as long as BHVR are clear and honest about exclusives going forward.

Stuff like crowns should definitely stay exclusive though, they are more like mementos than actual cosmetics and I'm sad that the year 5 ones lost that meaning.

There was the pirate themed outfit for Legion that I really wanted; Ive been really frustrated that BHVR wont bring back these outfits, mainly since there is no reason for them to not do it, it's literally more stuff to sell and more profit to make.
