Why can't I add a specific friend?
We both play in Epic and we just can't add each other, I tried sending request to other players and it allows me. I can't seem to send a request to anyone without the globe icon, aren't they supposed to be also in Epic? Thanks in advance.

There is a setting "auto decline friend request", Maybe your friend turn it on or Default is on, if i'm not wrong.

We already check that one, could it be related to both of us getting the game for free?
I'll add a photo of the online tab in settings, we have the same settings, maybe i'm missing something?

I play on steam but still can add or receive friend request from Epic and it doesn't affect whether the account is free or paid.
