[FIXED] FSR does not apply on game-restart
FSR does not apply on game-restart. You need to disable then re-enable FSR and re-configure the sharpness for the graphics setting to apply.
Edit: As of the 7.6.1 patch FSR no longer resets when restarting the game.

I was just coming to report this on Nintendo Switch. You need to turn FSR on every time you launch the game as well as reset the sharpness.

I dial it up to 100% on my Switch. While it obviously doesn't help performance, it really improves the graphics! I'm incredibly grateful for it 🙏

Confirming the bug as well.
PC Steam, no ini files have been set to Read Only.
After game restart the FSR remains On and the Sharpness setting retains it value, but it is not being applied.
Requires to turn FSR Off and back On to apply, as a temporary fix.
Graphic settings:
Quality: Low
Auto-adjust: Off
Screen Resolution: 100%
Screen Size: 1920x1080
Fullscreen Mode: Windowed Fullscreen
16:9 Aspect Ratio: Off
Vsync: Off
FPS limit: 60
Anti-aliasing: TAA
FSR: On
FSR Sharpness: 100%
Apart from the bug, very well-implemented feature, the clarity that the graphics gain when setting the Sharpness to 100% is notable.

I've got my PS4 set to 80%. Higher seems to cause some moire patterns in shadows. I'd recommend just testing it. It applies immediately in the lobby so you can mess around with it to see what looks best to you.

This is still an issue after 7.4.2

Is not only applicable to FSR, the quality also does not apply on launch. I play on ultra, but when I launch the game my shadows are on low. I need to flip the quality setting from ultra to something else and back to ultra to fix the issue. I need to do this every time I launch the game.

It's still a present issue after the Alan Wake patch, FSR needs to be turned off and on to apply visually the effects

XBOX Series X. FSR and fsr sharpness won't save and return to it default "off" state after game restarts. It is like this since previous patch.

Yep, same on PS4 and PC/Steam for me.
You have to disable and enable it to get the FSR effect.
