You describe 4% being a free escape. But what happens if you remove that? Oh yeah, it becomes a free kill. If survivors aren't allowed the ability to escape in end game, I have to ask, why should you get a free kill on someone you've only hooked once? It's unfair that survivors get a free escape, but you want a free kill just because we have collectively decided (for some reason) that killers should get some freebies when survivors do what they are meant to do and power the gates. Why is AFC disabled in end game? No reason other than to be nice to the killer and let them get a kill uncontested.
I've seen so many killer players on this forum push back against the idea of rubberbanding mechanics in this game. I can't wait to see how many approve of removing self-unhooking when the killer plays badly.

Really well said. Also, adrenaline requires a perk slot so it really isn't as free as people make it out to be. Really funny how Windows of Opportunity gets mentioned, yet again another scapegoat. What a shame they weren't running MfT as well! Oh wait...

Adrenaline is very strong. As it should be, seeing as it only activates once per match, and only if you survive to see the gates powered.
This entire situation only occured as a result of a 4% chance. 1/25 isn't bad considering in the other 24/25 times everyone would just die. Killers already have a bunch of things they don't have to look out for in end game, adding self-unhooks to that is just overkill.
