Who benefits from The Gideon Meat Plant?

I audibly groan when spawning into this Map every time. As killer, I can usually get a 3 or 4K but the match goes on for far too long.

As Survivor, I can never find the generators. It's so annoying and I will never get used to it if I haven't by now.

Does the community view this as a Survivor-sided map? I find it to be slightly worse than Midwich.

It’s a terribly designed map. Almost every pallet is just “drop and run”. I might even hate it more than RPD and that’s saying something.

Gideon is one of those maps I just sigh and prepare for a ######### match. Maybe it's all the pallets, but I swear Killers are ten times more likely to tunnel off hook and Survivors just pre-drop. terrible map.

Heavily depends on the killer and build.

But one killer in particular that does well here is Knight, cause its really easy to corner survivors with his guards

For finding gens, there is always the bathroom gen, but the others follow a pattern. The upper floor gens will always spawn on the clockwise side of the big closed doors. The lower floor gens will always spawn on the counter-clockwise side of the big closed doors. For example, if the gen spawns in the 2nd floor with the long drop, the door will be facing the stairwell up to that long drop. If the gen is on that same room but on the first floor instead, the door will block off the side path, but the Freezer is still accessible.

As far as which side is favored, I would say overall it leans more towards Killer than Survivor. If both sides don't know where gens are, then Killer wins because gens can't get progressed. If both sides can find gens, then Killer can approach and get corner hits or burn the pallet, then on subsequent approaches the Survivor can't reach the next pallet in time. Technically SWFs can win with comms, but even those can be faked out if the Killer clues in soon enough to fake leaving/approaching to force a false callout and get a free hit.

It basically is a macro skill only map, which can understandably be not very engaging for either side. If the Killer has too much gen regression, then Survivors can be unable to pump gens before running out of pallets. If the Survivors burn pallets while being gen inefficient, they will be unable to pump the gens with the remaining time before their death.

Of all of the indoor maps, I actually like this one the most, though I don't like the indoor maps in general. I think what I like about it is that it's pretty plain, and it's not, like, a bunch of random junk piles on the floor and weird, little corridors going nowhere.

For me, it's better to play on than Midwich because at least it's brightly lit and there are easy ways to get between the two floors, so I don't get so lost. I think certain Killers can do quite well on it. Especially those Killers with powers that help them to find Survivors and deal with pallets. There's no hiding from a Nurse with aura reading, a Doctor with his shocks or a Legion in frenzy on this map. I also think it has a tendency to spawn some very strong 3 gens that can be easily patrolled and defended. I think it's slightly more Killer sided, overall.

If I'm going to play an indoor map as Killer, I'd rather have this one over any of the others (considering game play alone). And I quite like Lery's for Survivor. I think that one is a bigger challenge for most Killers to play on.

It can be rough depending on the Killer.

If you are a Killer like Ghostface, even with your Night Shroud, Marking a Survivor is basically useless since there is normally a safe Pallet anyways. And even with certain chase powers like Demogorgan's Shred or Hillbilly's Chainsaw Sprint, Survivors have enough Pallets to waste that they can just pre-drop and play every tile safe without getting a hit.

Meanwhile with other Killers, Nurse being a prime example, there isnt much the Survivors can do on their end. There arent many LOS blockers, pallets are useless against her, and it's pretty much an instant lose if you get Nurse on Gideon. Another example would be Legion's Feral Frenzy, it handles really well and I consistently get Chain Downs with his power since pallets dont really stop him effectively.

I dont necessarily count is a Survivor-sided or Killer-sided map, but I personally believe that it could use a rework since it does not feel like a good map to play on (for both Survivor and Killer).

Depending on the killer and the perks in play it can vary. The right killer on that map is absolutely disgusting to play against but this can also be the other way around, if it's a killer with trouble playing around the god pallets. Surge and Pop work pretty well on it though because the maps is so small, so that can be a redeeming quality too.

Very survivor sided. I bring the offering with Lithe, Resi, and Any Means Necessary to dumbtech when i’m bored.

Yeah, Gideon is the one map which always makes me go "oh boy, THIS map". There are so many rooms which look the same, so I always end up feeling lost and not having a firm grasp on where everything is.

I really enjoy the map as survivor or killer, and can do well as either role.

I wouldn't call it 100% survivor sided. It really depends on the killer you're against in some cases, like knight or spirit for example

Playing against nurse is complete garbage on it

All map reworks were awful, but this one is definitely the worst.

It is a "drop and run" version of pallet town, and it sucks.

This is why I use jigsaw pieces if there’s a win challenge

Heh, can't blame ya. I feel sad for the killer though.

They sure as hell ain't gonna have a good time.

    Depends on the killer honestly.

If I'm playing Ghostface or Knight it's a pretty easy game but if I'm playing Hillbilly or Oni it's going to be difficult.

And then there is Nurse where it's just a free win.
