Matchmaking function without anonymous players
There is already a matchmaking function where, if activated, you not only ignore all players who play on a different platform but also all players who play on the same platform but have not deactivated cross play.
I would like to have the same for Anonymous Profile.
Why that?
Players who play as anonymous usually have the following motivation:
- Cheating -> it is harder to mark/report such profiles if less information is known about them.
- Bad attitude -> Players who are anonymous usually play a style of play that I don't enjoy (not helping other teammates as a survivor, locker hiding, no unhooks, etc) or tunneling, camping, slugging, humping as a killer.
- Steamers -> these often activate anonymous because they don't want to be sniped. This means I can't get into their match and therefore can't be a potential sniper, great.
So it would be great if you could use this current cross play deactivation function for an anonymous avoid mode.
This would actually be useful in this way and you could save yourself some time if you didn't have to manually dodge the lobbies as soon as an anonymous player enters them.
Please leave your feedback, I'm really curious about the constructive comments.

I run anon profile, I don't cheat, don't have a bad attitude, nor am I a streamer. Not really sure why some people are so afraid of anonymous profiles.

Even if you are not cheating, other players cannot be sure of your innocence if they cannot see your profile. In the normal case, you can check for past bans due to cheating, which makes it even more difficult to play against anonymous players on the PC version.

I'm on Xbox and cannot check anyone's profiles at all, and also cannot use their Anonymous Mode either. What would you suggest we do?

Other than OP literally explaining why? Did you read it? No?
Here's an example. I don't believe you. You could be lying right now about all that. Makes sense. Motivation is to NOT get this feature OP is asking for.
If you didn't read this, I'll be ecstatic!

The idea that anonymous mode is used mostly by bad actors is baseless. I use it because I got tired of people spamming me with hate speech. Anonymous mode helps with that a lot. Yes, I’ve restricted my profile as much as I can, but some people are persistent to a pretty intense degree.

Sorry some people don't have the energy to deal with harassment over a video game that triggers you so much

Anonymous profiles do absolutely nothing to hide cheating. Every anonymous person I've reported for blatant cheating in the last two weeks was banned within a few days according to report feedback. You still have the ability to report them after the game.
Anonymous mode lets people play the game and not worry about blowback for their playstyle. Nothing wrong with that if they aren't breaking any rules.

Go PC or off crossplay.

None of this was portrayed in your original post I responded too. I was making the point that people simply lie. Ofc you aren't going to say you are a cheat and have a bad attitude.
But to continue on, if the devs have said this, then all of this is just pointless chat. GL in your games!

There's no Cross Progression nor is it likely ever coming, and I ain't starting over and buying everything again just to move to PC. And I'd have to buy that amazing gaming PC too. So nope.
CrossPlay just matches with those on my particular platform who also turned it off, so maybe like 13 people. So nope.

I'm guessing this is a bait post, judging by one particular point made, but I'll bite.
Firstly, there's no need to. Players are all reportable, anonymous or not. If someone cheats, report them.
The bad attitude you describe pretty much can fit many players, both anon and not.
Loved the complaint about stream-sniping, which is also why I believe the post is bait.
